I've got to admit, I like the weeping angels. They are so morbid and Victorian...

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 04:38 AM

I do like them! They're just scary. XD

Cardinal Biggles 01-04-2011 04:41 AM

A little bit of fright won't hurt you.

Chickie Nuggs 01-04-2011 04:44 AM

I liked the concept of the weeping angels. It was a rather scary one, but you don't see villains like those all too often in stories.

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 04:44 AM

True! It's a little weird getting use to the new doctor, hes being a little too try-hard.

Chickie Nuggs 01-04-2011 04:46 AM

I dunno about that. I think that Smith is doin a pretty good job as the doctor. It's Amy I'm not too crazy for. xD

Cardinal Biggles 01-04-2011 04:46 AM

Yes, the originality of them as villains makes them all the more remarkable.

Lost in Austen 01-04-2011 04:49 AM

*lurks*
I've got about ten minutes before midnight. I'll stay here and chat until then. *doesn't wanna go to sleep* :gonk:
Glad to see you joined us, Leek! Which episode are you watching right now, by the way?

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 04:49 AM

Where im at it doesn't seem like hes found his way of portraying his doctor. He seems a bit too much like hes trying to emulate David Tennant. Amy reminds me of Donna, except younger. xD;

I think I like the weeping angles more than the darleks cause right now the darleks look a little bit like power rangers...

Halferty: On disk two, the weeping angel episode. xD;

TaiyoTsuki 01-04-2011 04:50 AM

:lol: Crayola Daleks! :XD

Lost in Austen 01-04-2011 04:52 AM

Yeah, I really hope they change back to being gray.
*laughs* Amy's nothing like Donna, in my opinion.... I mean, Donna's all like "I don't need a man!" and Amy's all like "Hello, you're hot!" :lol:

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 04:54 AM

Halferty: XD I reckon Donna would of been chasing the boys in her younger years.

I hope they add a pink ranger.

Lost in Austen 01-04-2011 04:54 AM

Haha, maybe. And she was engaged to Lance in her first episode... lol.

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 04:56 AM

And yet she still had that job where she pretty much dresses like an escort and kissing boys at parties?

Lost in Austen 01-04-2011 04:57 AM

I met Donna, lol. She was engaged to that guy who turned out to be an accomplice of the spider under the ground, remember? In "Runaway Bride"?

But Amy, yeah. I don't understand why Rory would put up with her being a kissogram, but then, he was Rory afterall. :XD

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 04:59 AM

Aaah. But same thing! Both characters ran away from being married. XD

Rory seems adorable, I don't think i've seen enough of him yet.

Cherry Who? 01-04-2011 05:02 AM

Ugh, Amy and Rory. :gonk:

Amy needs to dump Rory because she's obviously not committed to him, and Rory needs to dump Amy because... she's obviously not committed to him. Getting married in a relationship like that was probably the worst idea possible. Poor Rory, probably thought it'd make her better. :(

TaiyoTsuki 01-04-2011 05:07 AM

Well, I need to get to bed. Night all!

Chickie Nuggs 01-04-2011 05:07 AM

I felt bad for Rory. Amy obviously wanted to bang the Doc and Doc was even straight forward to Rory about it. I just...don't know...

At first I thought that it was natural for Amy to have an attachment to the Doc from all those many years prior. I was alright with it until I saw that she already had a boyfriend. I learned to like Rory as the series went by and I admired his commitment to her even though she would make it blatantly obvious that she preferred the Doc. At the same time, I never understood why he upheld that commitment with her. xD

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 05:11 AM

The same could be said about Rose. I'm not liking this about her personality either. @[email protected];

edit: one thing thats been bothering me about the dvd set is that the audio quality is so bad. D: Well not bad just really quiet and hard to hear, normally if I listen to something with all my settings at the highest it's cause i have a party on. @[email protected];

Chickie Nuggs 01-04-2011 05:16 AM

Rose actually grew on me. I wasn't all that happy that she just rejected her boyfriend for some stranger, but throughout her adventures with the doc she had proven to be less annoying than Amy.

Total over-exaggeration but...

Almost all the time:
Amy: "What's happening?"
"Doctor, what's happening?"

Rose: Thinks for herself, does a much better job taking care of herself, doesn't say "what's happening?" a million times. :rofl:

Seriously though, Rose is much better by comparison.

Cherry Who? 01-04-2011 05:17 AM

Demoscout - Exactly. Rory is the new Mickey, and it sucks.

It's completely understandable for Amy to be enamored of the Doctor. He's a magical pretty boy who takes her places and shows her things no man ever could. He's mysterious. That kind of thing is a surefire grab for the ladies. But Amy really should just be honest about it with Rory. It's not fair to him. And it doesn't even seem like she treated him that well to begin with. He's another poor pushover with a bitchy girlfriend. Poor Mickey...

I think Rose spent a lot of time with the Doctor offscreen, though. I think we've seen virtually every moment amy's had with the Doctor. By that I mean Rose had more time to get accustomed to all the time travel stuff, so she was more "okay, aliens are trying to kill us, whatever, been there," where as Amy's still like "WAIT, WAIT, ALIENS?!" But I do agree that she doesn't hold her own the best. I think Martha was best for that, personally.

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 05:24 AM

Nah, I hated Rose the most. xD She really just wasn't compatible with me, she was incredibly annoying.
I think I can deal with Amy more cause shes alot younger and therefore I expect her to act wilder, and her boyfriend deals with her being a kissogram and dressed up as the doctor for her so it's not like he didn't know what he was getting in to.
The difference was Micky was just left instanstly at a drop of a hat, Amy was pretty much crushing on the doctor since she was a child.

Yeah, I think Rose did spend more time offscreen than Amy but they're about as useful as each other I mean Amy did pretty much solve the landwhale ep. Martha was definitely the one that held her own the best.

Chickie Nuggs 01-04-2011 05:28 AM

Amy was a lot younger than Rose? I would have imagined that they were about the same age or, at least, age range.

Spanish Leek Squared 01-04-2011 05:29 AM

Isn't amy about 21-22. I thought Rose was older.
