I'm listening to yet more creepy music. And it's late at night. BAD IDEA!!! |
Wow, there are people in the comments whose taste in men is about as bizarre as mine. XD
I was listening to Once More, With Feeling last night (this morning even) rather than being asleep. Sigh. |
Taiyo - I completely agree. People that have been ruled "a danger to themselves and others" can buy guns... That's just... not right. I mean, don't get me wrong, I support the right to own guns, I just think people should be checked out first to make sure they're all there.
Biggles - Those unintentional haikus are pretty cool. I like the Sherlock Holmes one. Speaking of... I read something once implying that Sherlock Holmes is only read (now) by loner 13 year old girls, and I have absolutely never heard of that stereotype and was confused... but then I searched my feelings and found it to be true... I have not picked up a Holmes novel since I was 13. Is that really a thing? How is it that young me played so perfectly into stereotypes I didn't know existed at the time? I mean, really, you should have seen my fanfiction. |
I think it's true with certain segments of the young population, who also happen to be loners. I think that it also takes special, more thoughtful characteristics to be drawn to Doyle's work. Not many emos that I've run into, which are now the quintessential "13 year old loner" standard bearers, are into Victorian literature.
*acknowledging the fact that those emos stick together in clots, and aren't all that alone, except in the delusions they foster in their free time. |
Well, I never said emo.
|
No, I brought them up because that is the loner class now a days. And Sherlock Holmes fandom takes someone who can appreciate it, and it is the rarity of that type of people that leads them to be alone, not out of a desire for aloneness, but more because there aren't enough kindred spirits to be found.
|
You, me, and social stereotype-based miscommunications tonight, huh?
|
Haha, I guess. Makes me feel I lack clarity. Sigh.
|
Oh, no, I just think I'm bad at understanding people... Or maybe it's both and together we make a big lump of incoherency! :D
On a more Doctor Who-related note... I'm going through all the (new Who) episodes in order and Love and Monsters is up next... I am completely going to skip that one... |
Heehee! Doctor Who marathons are fun! But yeah, I almost always skip that one. :p |
I might watch Love and Monsters so it feels better. =P
I grew up watching the Granada Holmes series but didn't actually read the books probably until a couple of years ago (and have reread them all within the last year). Being an emo seems to require too much effort with make-up and whatnot for me to be bothered. |
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like that episode, Zea.
Kat - Yeah... makeups a lot of work! I'm glad my skin can't tolerate any sort of foundation or powder, it gives me a more valid excuse to never wear any than "I don't feel like it." All I ever wear is mascara, and most days I don't even bother with that... |
Hey! How're y'all doing?
I've recently - like in the past 3 weeks, gotten myself hooked and addicted on this show and managed to get my roommate into it as well. *giggles* |
WE'VE GOT A NEW CONVERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Not a cosmetics person. It sits on my face, and in addition that, it's not my style. There's a strain of artifice in it.
|
Taiyo: And happy to be one. :P
I'm not a cosmetics person either, I'm allergic to most brands, and I've never been a fan of wearing them anyways, so I don't even really bother. |
I've got an ice creap bucket of cosmetics, but 90% of those are nail polish, cause that's the only kind of makeup that I wear the most. I do wear other makeup, but not often.
|
I actually really like Butter London's stuff, but I don't wear it (the nail polish) that often.

I'm sorry, but I just felt the need to say that your changing of 'cream' to 'creap' is making me giggle xD This may also be due to the all-too common homework + sleep deprivation = hysteria |
Let's meet the teams... : News 2011 : Chortle : The UK Comedy Guide...

Welcome to the fandom, Hopelessly! What have you seen so far?
Zea - *snicker* Biggles - I hope it gets posted on Youtube. |
I have no doubt the Tennantites will be all over it.
|
Tennantites... Sounds like Mennonites. Tennonites. There we go.
WHOA. Tennant. I never realized that. Whoa. That's. Whoa. |
Cherry: Thanks! :) I've seen up to the most recent episode of the newer seasons of Doctor Who and I'm about half way though with Torchwood now. ^_^ My roommate teases me about how addicted I am.
And y'all can call me Hope if y'all wish. :) |
Yup, I always thought it was pretty nifty how TENnant was the TENth Doc.
Welcome, Hope!! |
