Doctor's wifeX

Err.. am I just stupid for not actually realising immediately it was the TARDIS going into her body? Or was I not paying enough attention? >.>

I hope eyepatch lady gets more time next time, or more clues for us to theorize about at least!

Welcome Xensas! Glad you found us. :) Just to remind you though, to use the spoiler box if talking about the latest episodes. Not that that sentence is a massive spoiler or anything, but I thought I'd remind you anyway, just in case. ^^
I thought of River Song as well for that sentence, but I'm guessing like Kat said, that either it's something different or, which I find more likely, it is related to River but in some way we could not possibly even imagine.

Lost in Austen 05-17-2011 01:48 PM

Admit it, seeing Rory die in nearly every episode is getting a tad annoying.

Yo! -randomly joins Doctor Who thread-
Nice to see you! I'm glad I was pointed towards this thread. I'm a massive Doctor Who fan (and Torchwood...before IT happened!!!!!!!:hate:)

Am I the only one that thinks that the preview for the next episode looks amazing?
But back to this week's latest ep. Neil Gaiman did a brilliant job working on it! Only he could come up with the idea. I loved seeing him in Doctor Who Confidential poking around the TARDIS consoles! It was quite fun to watch. If only I could do that...

Cherry Who? 05-18-2011 02:56 AM

Lost, you might want to put that in a spoiler bar. :)

Mirani - Welcome to the thread! By "IT" do you mean

Torchwood spoilersX

The virtual genocide on the cast? Yeah, I'm going to watch this upcoming season, but I don't know how it's going to be without Tosh, Owen, and Ianto. I mean... come on. :gonk: And why are they still doing it in miniseries format? Guh, I liked it in long form, they can do whatever story they want to do here as just a three-parter or whatever and then still have 10+ more episodes. Bleh.

Connielass 05-18-2011 03:11 AM

I wish I knew what everyone was talking about. I'm dying to be watching Smith Doctor.

But.. well, no BBCA.
Only at the boyfriend's house.
Where I can only watch it at 1am.

Which I really don't want to have to be doing.

Because? It competes with the hot man in the bed.
.....Even if he is sleeping at the time. :|

Cherry Who? 05-18-2011 05:42 AM

Try online, Connie. I don't have satellite, so that's how I watch it. :)

Magician Girl Mirani 05-18-2011 10:54 AM

The best site to watch it I think is

ProjectfreeTV.com. That's what a lot of my friends use.

----------

Oh and Cherry Flavoured Antacid the spoiler bar isnt' lowering so if what you mean by me meaning IT is a certain 5 day mini-series then YES I MEAN IT!!!!!!! -imagines beating RTD into the GROUND for what he did!!!!!!!!!!!!- I SWEAR if we have Jack/Gwen shoved down our threats in the next sweries I WILL take action!!!!!!!!

Cherry Who? 05-18-2011 08:44 PM

Try refreshing the page if the spoiler bar isn't working. If that still doesn't work, it's likely your browser. A quick way to get around it is to just hit "quote" on my post and read what's inside the hide tags. :) And you can just call me Cherry, that's much quicker.

Guys, guys, guys! Look what Threadless has!
Doctor-Hoo. And for only $12! I'm nearly broke, but I am so very tempted.

Mitsunari 05-18-2011 08:51 PM

random Dr Who releated question. Anyone know any where you can find classic Dr Who episodes I know they are quite hard to find since alot of them were lost never to be recovered, or atleast not in good enough quality to broadcast. Would love to follow some of the older Who Story lines from days gone by.

KatMagenta 05-18-2011 09:05 PM

The Doctor Hoo shirt is so tempting. I convinced myself the shipping would be more than the price of the shirt but it's only £13 in total but there are shirts I might buy coming up on Qwertee and I'm saving up for things ahhhh. *explodes*

Hallo Mitsu. There are a few free classic episodes on MSN Video, blinkbox and See Saw. The BBC have a Youtube channel with classic episodes too. I guess your usual "watch TV online" sites might have more.

Mitsunari 05-18-2011 09:12 PM

I didn't know that they had a youtube channel. Was on the classic dr who BBC webpage last night seeing if they had any episodes up to stream. Might have to watch some while i am off tonight and tomorrow.

Cherry Who? 05-18-2011 09:22 PM

Mitsu, Netflix has a few 4th Doctor specials (but not any seasons) and one from the 2nd up for instant streaming. They also have the movie, and some episodes (or maybe they're specials, I don't really know) from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th (possibly also the 6th, I didn't look all the way back) for renting.

Mitsunari 05-18-2011 09:29 PM

Yeah i heard about Netflicks sucking but I don't think i can get an account being in england and all. They deciced agains expending into this country. Annoys me since Nao-chan is always watching cool TV programs on it that i can watch ~shakes fist~ We have love film but that kinda sucks for TV shows.

KatMagenta 05-18-2011 09:33 PM

I just watched the introduction for the next episode and the director was wearing a 'Miskatonic University' jumper. The Doctor has to visit Lovecraft at some point!

Netflix was supposed to launch in the UK last year. Must have missed that.
I wish we had Hulu too but such is life.

Magician Girl Mirani 05-18-2011 09:54 PM

The only online site that I use for watching stuff is ProjectFreeTV. That usually seems to be pretty good but then again I haven't tried to look up any of the old doctor who episodes on it. Mam's told me a little about it and I saw a few clips of some old episodes on Doctor Who Confidential but appart from taht I haven't seen any of the original series.
A friend of mine told me that one of the Doctors freaked her out though. Can't remember if it was the fifth or sixth though.

Cherry Who? 05-19-2011 12:56 AM

No, no, Netflix doesn't suck, it's amazing. But you're right, it's not in the UK... Sorry, Mitsu, I didn't know you lived across the pond!

Mitsunari 05-19-2011 03:55 PM

Thats alright cherry, spent last night watching the few episodes from the first ever season, was quite a nice evening with a nice class of red wine on the side. Hopefully going to get to watch some more tonight. Hopefull we will get Netflix sooner rather than later or Lovefilm, will expanded there TV program libairy to inculde more shows.

Magician Girl Mirani 05-19-2011 04:10 PM

Okay just gunna post this comment randomly.
I was reading a fanfiction about Jack and Ianto (and tryign NOT to think abotu IT) and in the background I had some music going. I'd just about managed to get half way through the first chapter when Paty Perry's song 'Peacock' randomly started to play. I listened to it for a minute and I was just like "This song reminds me so much of Jack!" Yes random I know but it's the truth! And it's happened more than once when I've been reading a fanfiction about Jack and 'Peacock' has started to play. That is so incredibly cool and creepy. On the other hand a couple of times the song 'My Immortal' by Evanescence has come on and instead of making me happy I almost start to cry because it's just so fitting. It's amazing how certain songs remind you of certain characters but they can have such different effects on you depending on the situation.

Okay so my question to everyone else is...what songs remind you of which characters and why? It should be obvious with the two that I've mentioned. 'My Immortal' because Jack is a fixed point in time and immortal and 'Peacock' because...it's basically the world's biggest inuendo in song form.

Cherry Who? 05-20-2011 02:11 AM

I don't really associate any songs with any characters. Well... except one, for obvious reasons.

Magician Girl Mirani 05-20-2011 11:14 AM

-snickers- Agreed! That song fits perfectly!

KatMagenta 05-20-2011 06:11 PM

Heh, I have that song on my iPod.

I don't have any imagination but I love the songs Murray Gold has written for the series, especially the version of Song for Ten that appears on the soundtrack.

ljosberinn 05-21-2011 09:30 AM

Mitsunari: The BBC iPlayer has some old episodes up right now, a Peter Davison serial it seems. It's mighty tempting to watch it, actually.. maybe I'll treat myself tomorrow night if the internet decides to work and I get a lot of work done during the day.

I don't really associate songs in that way, though I must say I love the theme they use for Matt Smith when he has a brilliant idea for something crazy.
Also, I don't know if I'm just thick, but.. who does that song remind you of?

Magician Girl Mirani 05-21-2011 09:53 AM

Which song are you talking about? -feels stupid-

Skipe 05-21-2011 11:36 AM

oh my gosh. i love DW. my favourite doctor is definitely the 9th doctor. :3

ljosberinn 05-21-2011 12:30 PM

The Voodoo Child song that Cherry just posted?

Hey Skipe, welcome! How much have you watched of the new series? Eccleston is, in his own words, fantastic (sorry!) as the Doctor.
