She was pretty definitely, I think, the girl in the space suit in 1969. I think the real question is if she was also in the space suit in 20something who shot the Doctor. And was that really the Doctor? Could it be the Ganger?

When he first met her, she told him his name, didn't she? I think they said that later on in the episode or something.

An official timeline would perfect, yes. Getting way too wibbley for my brain to sort out.

No clue what the Doctor was going off to do... I think that one's supposed to be a mystery to be saved for the next half of the series. Which is going to be impossible to wait for, by the way... It feels like Doctor Who just started back up! :gonk:

I think the ganger might have something to do with it. Not to mention the killing of The Doctor (or if not him then the ganger) was clearly a shock to River Song so that's gotta make things more complicated since the timelines seem to be crisscrossing all over the place! It's like the 10th said. "A big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timy-wimy...stuff" I think that about sums up this season and the last, wouldn't you agree?

Did anyone else LOVE IT when The Doctor said he could speak baby? That was so cute! "No it's mummy, not big milk thing." Loved that line!

Hey, guess what's in here! Yep, more A Good Man Goes to War spoilers.X

I assumed if the cot belonged to The Doctor the Gallifreyan writing (that the TARDIS couldn't translate) might be his name and it's been shown River can read/write in High Gallifreyan. But then I get confused with the timey-wimey stuff and lose track of what River and the Doctor know at any given time.

The Rory/Doctor ambiguity nearly got me a couple of times but Rory was so amazing (I love the Ponds and will never apologise for it) I will forgive Moffat.

Well, it seems that we as the audience have been following the same timeline as the Doctor, so at least we have that one down. And maybe someday in the future, after River's full timeline has been revealed, they'll actually publish a book that looks like River and the Doctor's blue journals... Wouldn't that be awesome?

Something I really wanna find out is WHEN, exactly, does River Song realize who she is. I mean, it's possible that she gets taken away from the Ponds (Williamses?) as a baby and doesn't find out who she is until later. Which could explain why River doesn't seem weirded out when she meets Amy for the first time (supposedly) in Time of the Angels. I mean, if I met my mom as a 20-something, and she was being all clingy on my "sweetie", I'd be a bit weirded out. I mean, even if I was a time traveler and stuff. Cuz that would just be an odd situation! (I went back and re-watched the scene in which Amy first meets River, and it was clear that Amy was still quite smitten with the Doctor at that time. haha.)

Are we sure that's the first time that River meets Amy? It's the first time Amy meets River, but maybe the first time River meets Amy (as the young Doctor's companion, as we know her know) hasn't even happened yet (in Amy and the Doctor's timeline). Or maybe it was explicitly stated that she hadn't met her before, I don't really remember. I'm asking sincerely.

Regardless of timeline, though, yes that would be incredibly creepy to have your mom hitting on your... your... "sweetie," yeah, that works. :lol:

Also, on that subject, I thought it was hilarious when the Doctor realized who River was and said "but we...!" and made that weird kissy face. :rofl:

Ahh, that is a good point actually. I'd forgotten River could read High Gallifreyan. I don't think it was ever said in the episode that River whispered his name to him, but I think Moffat hinted at it later on or something like that? But yes, that would make perfect sense then. Though I'm guessing River must have read it for the first time in the last episode then!

I don't think it was a ganger that the astronaut killed, as he didn't turn to jelly. There was a body and everything.

And yes, the "I talk baby" as well as the kissy kissy face were hilarious! :rofl:

Amy first meets River in the Weeping Angels episode, right? Doesn't River recognize her then? I'm not entirely sure, but I think she did, which really confused Amy..


I keep liking each series better than the last, and it always amazes me how it keeps getting better when I thought it would be impossible. I really need to get my partner into watching this with me, but I think I'm going to have to start with series 5 with him, as somehow I think he'd like series 5 and 6 so much better than the other four. Though he might like some Classic Doctor too..

I'd just like to point out that The Doctor said that he could make the flesh into 'real' people like he did with Jimmy and the other guy who's original was killed. So if he can do that then why can't he do it to himself (or the ganger I mean since he said that they could maybe survive on the molecular level) so there is a possibility that it could be him...maybe.

Well I think that maybe River Song knew who her parents were. I mean remember that place, the Orphanage, where they found the room with all the pictures and there was one of Amy? So maybe River at least knew who her mother looked like or maybe knew a little more. It's confusing and I think once everything's explained that there should be a book-timeline thing released so we know the whole order of things. I don't know how Moffat keeps it straight in his head but he does somehow. I enfy him for that.

-grumbles- I found out from a friend why Jack wasn't included in the army. I mean, you'd think that The Doctor would've recruited Jack for something like this but according to Steven Moffat John Barrowman was busy filming "Miracle Day" so he couldn't make an appearance :( :cry:


Okay and following on from taht last comment I made, under better circumstances what do people think would happen if Jack and Amy ever met?

And I'm agreeing with everyone else here! I love season 6 (even though we've only seen the first half so far) so I'm seriously looking forward to the next half coming out in Autumn! They are cruel, cruel people to make us wait so long to find out what's gunna happen next!

A reply to ljos, but stuff in here will be interesting to anyone who is completely up to date on the show. AGMGTW spoilers, as alwaysX

I lost track of what was real and what was speculation myself, so I went and looked it up.

And to everyone else who is up to date on the series at this point, I'd definitely recommend reading the River Song article just to remember everything you might have forgotten. It's not arranged in the order it happened to her in, it seems to be reverse that of how we saw it, with the newest at the top (and I doubt River's timeline is quite so easy as to be exactly reverse)

I had been hoping to see Jack too! Or at least other people we had actually... seen before. The blue guy and the brief appearance of the captain and his son (did they live?) were the only characters who had actually been in the show before... although the actress who played the lizard lady and the actor who played the Sontaran had both played people of that species in the show before. Just not those specific characters.


Probably the same thing that always happens when Jack meets a lady. He'd flirt, she'd be flattered and flirt back, the Doctor would tell them to cut it out. :lol: Rory would make a stupid face... You know,

And then, me being me, I added in that once he came around Jack would probably ask to join in with Rory and Amy and then would probably be stabbed again. -snickers- I could see that happening.
