I found Doctor Who by accident. One night I had switched to the syfy channel. It was my freshman year of high school to be exact. I watched the ending to the end of the world episode. anyway they showed the living plastic again and I was instantly hooked to the Ninth Doctor since then.
I think it's been part of my peripheral knowledge for a long time, I can't recall how long, and it was a long time before I knew any actual details of it.
I love it when people tell storys of how they found out about doctor who
Most delightful nightlight ever.
I skipped over it on pbs several times before I finally stopped to watch mostly because there was nothing else on. I got to start on the first season with Christopher Eccleston aka Dr 9 and Billie Piper aka Rose Tyler. During that first season I managed to find an old Dr Who movie that was black and white, not really sure if it was a movie that inspired the series.
---------- thats awesome |
I have no lights on in my room, either. Just me, the backlight glow of my laptop monitor... and my sonic screwdriver XD
What you are watching is a reboot, Onix, of a Series that ran from the early sixties to the late eighties (exact dates, anyone?)
In the nineties there was a one off movie with Doctor number 8, and then the franchise was taken up again in the naughts, by Moffit and Davies (again, do I have this right, could someone give details or um corroborate?) |
Oh, and in case anyone cares, my shirt says "Reading is for awesome people.", but it got cut off by the webcam shot.
I've got a lovely shirt that says "Reading is Sexy" :cool:

@ Cardinal Biggles
I suppose it could have been a bunch of eps strung together but I'm not really sure. There was an old guy that was the Dr but he wasn't a time lord like he is now. And the machine they used to travel with wasn't a Tardis is was a time machine, if I'm remembering right. He took 2 girls and a guy with him. The girls were his grand-daughters, I think, one girl was way older then the other one. The guy and the older girl were engaged. The trip they took, took them to an alien planet that seemed abandoned at first but they found a city that was inhabited by the Daleks. I'm pretty sure that the Doctor in this show or movie wasn't one of the 11 Doctors from the series |
I think that was the first doctor Fire

Huzzah for silly webcam sonic screwdriver shots! You would make a good companion... >.>

Thank You Crow so would you. If you were the doctor were would you take me for my bday? cuz its today Yaaay!!! I"m gonna be 22 guys

That does sound like the first doctor. He was the only one who had susan with him, yeah? Susan being the grand daughter.

I would offer to take you to 'tomorrow at noon' right now, but sometimes the TARDIS takes me where I need to be rather than where I want to go... which is why I'm so frequently late despite having a Time Machine -_-;
