Some people sleep like the dead. My boyfriend has his ringer as loud as if someone tooted a trumpet right next to you, but he still won't wake up. I have to shake him or -- employ.. other.. means.

ljosberinn 11-09-2011 02:11 PM

Apparently he had trouble sleeping last night, so he slept through his alarm. I'm just.. thing is, I get this a lot of the time when I plan photoshoot, that the model is late or doesn't show, or whatever. It gets very tiring, especially because if they cancel, they never have the decency to cancel until after we were supposed to have started shooting. :/ He could've texted me in the night, telling me he was having trouble sleeping and so might not be able to do it and it would've been fine.
*sigh* The worst bit is that these things almost always happen only when I'm shooting with people I know, so I don't want to be too harsh and I don't like staying pissed off at my friends. If it was someone I didn't know, I would also probably not offer a re-shoot (unless they cancelled with legit reasons well before we were supposed to start), while I will definitely do that with my friends. Bah.

I tend to sleep through my alarm too though.. I have it on my phone and I will usually have multiple alarms go off for about an hour, but when the first one goes off, I'll take my phone and put it next to me on the bed.. meaning I won't have to wake up or anything to stretch my hand to it and turn off the beeping. xP So in the end I usually just sleep through it. Just put new batteries in my very loud alarm clock last night though.. but put the alarm on an hour late. *facepalm* Oh well, at least it didn't matter in the end..

I know I really like the 2nd doctors outfit. Thank you to Doctor Who and the Tardis by Craig Hurle

Lost in Austen 11-10-2011 03:53 PM

David Tennant + Catherine Tate + Shakespeare + saxophones = all kinds of wonderful.

And I love how David's voice gets all growly at 1:57.

LonelyOtaku97 11-12-2011 03:55 AM

Aw I would pay good money just see these to in a shakespeare play

Cardinal Biggles 11-12-2011 07:35 AM

No one mentioned the fact that it's 11/11/11 yet. I am disappoint, genuine whovians.

LonelyOtaku97 11-12-2011 03:39 PM

Aw yes yesterday was the 11th doctors day haha and I watched the Doctors Wife yesterday how ironic.

ljosberinn 11-14-2011 09:17 PM

Guys guys guys have you seen this?? David Yates (director of last Harry Potter films) is set to make a Doctor Who film.. but seriously, read the news article before commenting on it. It sounds terrible. :|

Cherry Who? 11-14-2011 10:08 PM

It's just a rumor. :)

Strange, the BBC are reporting it as news. Unless they don't have much to do with BBC Worldwide and wouldn't be any the wiser.

At the risk of overgeneralising, the fans Doctor Who has now like it as it is (more or less) and I don't think the people who don't watch now would be interested in a standalone feature.

Lost in Austen 11-14-2011 11:26 PM

Pretty sure it's more than just a rumor at this point.

*hyperventilating* I'm so scared.

Cherry Who? 11-15-2011 02:44 AM

I think the BBC article had a lot of unconfirmed stuff? That Yates wanted to do it, but like, nothing else concrete? Even if there was more, there has been such an immediate, strong negative backlash that it would probably be canned. Same thing happened when there was talk of a Rocky Horror remake.

LonelyOtaku97 11-15-2011 03:15 AM

I heard about them doing a movie for Doctor Who. Not to sure if I would go see that especially since I love the TV show more than anything.

Cardinal Biggles 11-15-2011 06:16 AM

Seeing as they've already done a movie, I'd hardly put it in the realm of impossibility. It's not like the reboot is any more sacred than the original. Of course, that's not touching on how tasteful or well thought out a feature would be.

Connielass 11-15-2011 07:08 AM

I'm not sure what to be more insulted by:
Yates saying it needs a new approach, or people blaming Americans in general for Yates' attitude.

Really?!

<< American fan of the Doctor as he is, thank you very much.

Cardinal Biggles 11-15-2011 08:06 AM

Well, here's something that might cheer the lot of you up:

I would be pleased to rock the second doctor look. Rock it so hard.

The_Crow 11-15-2011 09:10 AM

I'm more concerned about the future of Torchwood than Doctor Who at the moment, personally. Starz was set up to have a second go of Miracle Day but now it turns out they don't want it. The best thing to do would be to hand it back to BBC3. Also, that would allow the most fan-requested re-appearnce: Captain Jack Harkness to actually happen. The real life/logistical reason Captain Jack wasn't in "A Good Man Goes To War" was because he was in America filming. I think Torchwood has alot of momentum, and John Barrowman has said he's willing and wanting to play Captain Jack, they just need to administratively make up their minds on what's going to happen with the future of the series.

ljosberinn 11-15-2011 10:21 AM

Hmm, I did google the Yates film and a lot of the sources seemed fairly reliable, which is why I was freaking out. :x Cherry, do you know when that tweet was posted?

And damn, Crow, you just reminded me I still haven't finished watching Miracle Day.. somehow I just forgot about it completely in all the chaos that was my life at that point. I really should get to that..

Lost in Austen 11-15-2011 10:33 AM

Well, the first place I heard about the supposed movie was from Clevvermovies on youtube. And.... I doubt they'd announce something that they hadn't verified first. :/

ljosberinn 11-15-2011 10:51 AM

This is from the Doctor Who official Facebook page:

Quote:

There's been a lot of talk today about the possibility of a Doctor Who movie - a feature film remains in development with BBC Worldwide Productions in Los Angeles. But, as of yet there is no script, cast or production crew in place.

Cardinal Biggles 11-15-2011 12:17 PM

I need to vent for a moment, about how tumblr has been handling it. There's been a slew of angry posts (even threatening posts. NOT OKAY). One of the things I've been seeing intermittently is the argument a movie simply won't work, that Doctor Who is a television series and episodic and no other format can work. Patiently ignoring the fact that this is a franchise with a long history and there has been a movie. On top of that, Movies are largely self contained in form, like any episodic series of television there is. These are the same people who are appalled by the idea of "starting from scratch" and yet they only seem to have taken into account the reboot.
