Some people sleep like the dead. My boyfriend has his ringer as loud as if someone tooted a trumpet right next to you, but he still won't wake up. I have to shake him or -- employ.. other.. means.

And for your viewing pleasure(not meaning to get off topic)

I know I really like the 2nd doctors outfit. Thank you to Doctor Who and the Tardis by Craig Hurle
|
David Tennant + Catherine Tate + Shakespeare + saxophones = all kinds of wonderful.
And I love how David's voice gets all growly at 1:57. |
Aw I would pay good money just see these to in a shakespeare play
|
No one mentioned the fact that it's 11/11/11 yet. I am disappoint, genuine whovians.
|
Aw yes yesterday was the 11th doctors day haha and I watched the Doctors Wife yesterday how ironic.

It's just a rumor. :)

Strange, the BBC are reporting it as news. Unless they don't have much to do with BBC Worldwide and wouldn't be any the wiser.
At the risk of overgeneralising, the fans Doctor Who has now like it as it is (more or less) and I don't think the people who don't watch now would be interested in a standalone feature. |
Pretty sure it's more than just a rumor at this point.
*hyperventilating* I'm so scared. |
I think the BBC article had a lot of unconfirmed stuff? That Yates wanted to do it, but like, nothing else concrete? Even if there was more, there has been such an immediate, strong negative backlash that it would probably be canned. Same thing happened when there was talk of a Rocky Horror remake.
|
I heard about them doing a movie for Doctor Who. Not to sure if I would go see that especially since I love the TV show more than anything.
|
Seeing as they've already done a movie, I'd hardly put it in the realm of impossibility. It's not like the reboot is any more sacred than the original. Of course, that's not touching on how tasteful or well thought out a feature would be.
|
I'm not sure what to be more insulted by:
Yates saying it needs a new approach, or people blaming Americans in general for Yates' attitude. Really?! << American fan of the Doctor as he is, thank you very much. |
Well, here's something that might cheer the lot of you up:
http://thetardis.tumblr.com/post/128...ta-coordinates I would be pleased to rock the second doctor look. Rock it so hard. |
I'm more concerned about the future of Torchwood than Doctor Who at the moment, personally. Starz was set up to have a second go of Miracle Day but now it turns out they don't want it. The best thing to do would be to hand it back to BBC3. Also, that would allow the most fan-requested re-appearnce: Captain Jack Harkness to actually happen. The real life/logistical reason Captain Jack wasn't in "A Good Man Goes To War" was because he was in America filming. I think Torchwood has alot of momentum, and John Barrowman has said he's willing and wanting to play Captain Jack, they just need to administratively make up their minds on what's going to happen with the future of the series.

Well, the first place I heard about the supposed movie was from Clevvermovies on youtube. And.... I doubt they'd announce something that they hadn't verified first. :/

I need to vent for a moment, about how tumblr has been handling it. There's been a slew of angry posts (even threatening posts. NOT OKAY). One of the things I've been seeing intermittently is the argument a movie simply won't work, that Doctor Who is a television series and episodic and no other format can work. Patiently ignoring the fact that this is a franchise with a long history and there has been a movie. On top of that, Movies are largely self contained in form, like any episodic series of television there is. These are the same people who are appalled by the idea of "starting from scratch" and yet they only seem to have taken into account the reboot.
