nth-ing the Asylum love.
Looking forward to Christmas to see if it gives an idea what direction the second half of the series will be going. |
Yes! Christmas is a thing! I'm so excited for the christmas special! (Though, in the middle of the season, what's up with that?)
|
Because they're still going along with the split series thing?
Hope the break isn't too long this time. |
So the Second half of current season starts in January?
|
And I have yet to catch up on the first half of the season.
|
Definitely watch it Connielass.
|
Well I would, if I could only go to my boyfriend's every day.
|
No way of watching it at home?
|
None. I usually watch it OnDemand at my boyfriend's. He gets brownie points for letting me watch it!
|
Oh yeah, I see. :) Does he watch it with you?
|
No, usually that's when he goes off to do something else, like the wash, or whatever other chore might need doing.
|
I'm with ya now.
|
Yeah. Usually we do chores together. I'll wash dishes and he'll dry, or he'll put the clothes in the wash, and I'll fold.
But DW is one of the few shows where I can NOT be disturbed or distracted by anything else! |
There are a few sites that stream it but I can't remember them right now sorry. XDDD
|
If you watch TV shows online somewhere it is probably there. Just with something as popular as Who there's more chance the links will get pounced on and taken down. And TV quality is so much nicer if you have access.

So, this is slightly off-topic but it is a question that might be able to be answered by this crowd.
I've watched Life on Mars (another show on the BBC, starring John Simm aka The Master to all of us NuWhovians). It ran for two seasons/serieses. There was a follow up programme/series that contained his three main coworkers but not Simm/Sam Tyler nor his love interest (and instead an androgynous little Police Constable, In uniform, lowest rank). My question is what happened to Nelson, the bartender? In Sam Tyler's 1973 they all went to this pub where there was a black kind of 'bohemian' bartender who gave Sam Tyler/John Simm the best advice in the whole show. Also, he was the only main and recurring character that didn't have a surname. The new protragonist is Alex Drake, a female in 198(1?) and they all meet at what seems to be a too nice and out of their budget italian ish place with candles, the formerly HORRIBLY mysoginistic boss always has wine with her and the owner is "Luigi" and is Italian-ish but doesn't have any words of wisdom... what happened there? Luigi really is just a poster on the wall but Nelson was really a key player that affected Tyler/Simm's decisions. Of the remaing two, one is still nice and one is still a pretty mysoginistic and caveman-esque type... I'm not even sure if there is an answer to this... but I would really like to know what happened to the old pub and what happened to Nelson? |
Life on Mars was set in Manchester and Ashes to Ashes is set in London. About the change in dynamic, I don't really know.
Without wanting to spoil anything the end of Ashes to Ashes wraps up the whole 'saga' so to speak so I'd recommend sticking with it unless you're really not enjoying it. |
Well I know about the spoilers about the saga, but I really preferred life on Mars.
That also explains why their office is so much cleaner -_-; Gene and compnay don't interrogate the victims as brutally, Gene doesn't punch his own officers anymore (or maybe he's making an exception because Alex is a woman). But I do know the contents of Gene's 'locked drawer'... I also know about Gene's original ID and speech... see before I found places where I could watch full episodes I found the 'best bits' people posted on youtube, for both of the serieses... Alex is much more eloquent but I really miss the swashbuckling. I really miss the waking up every night in frustration wondering if you are comatose, just mad, or back in time transferred from Hyde with amnesia? Alex has it so systemized that nothing is a shock, and either because of growing up, the times, or maybe Gene actually respecting her, she doesn't seem to be treated fully like 'one of the guys'. |
Wow.
I just caught up on season 7. Wow. I never expected it to end this way. But it was just so bittersweet, so moving. Wow. |
I haven't seen either of those shows, so I can't comment beyond saying that I'm mildly interested in them based solely on the fact that they draw their titles from David Bowie songs. [lol]
|
You guys seen this?! It showed up on my dash earlier today, and it's brilliant. |
Ah yes, Children in Need. Caught a bit of it on the telly but thanks for sharing. :)
Near uni I saw a poster for the John Barrowman/Krankies panto this year: Jack and the Beanstalk. [lmao] |
Haha. That's great!
|
I've been a Supernatural fan for ages, but half of the reason I'm watching Arrow is because John Barrowman is in it. The other half is because it airs right before Supernatural. Okay, and I have a thing for bows and arrows. I liked Robin Hood as a kid, and I really liked Katniss in The Hunger Games trilogy.
|
I'm going to start watching both of those shows soon, I hope. Supernatural looks really good, and like Crow said, John Barrowman is in Arrow.
