Akhenaten was the one whose name they got 'wrong' in Dinosaurs in a Spaceship. Nefertiti's husband. Egypt stuff~

Oh, how strange. You'd think they'd check that before putting it in. Unless it's a commonly made error (like the pronunciation of Sacagawea).

It was strange, because the name they used, Amenhotep IV, is technically his identity, but not the one most connected to him, by any means. Amenhotep is essentially his birthname, and he is the fourth, (his father was Amenhotep III), but the name he went by, and went down in history as, is most definitely Akhenaten. It is definitely how Nefertiti would have seen him. The only other name I can possibly think of her introducing him to others as is Neferkheperure, his throne name. I really don't know how they could have researched this and missed the fact, unless their only source was a cursory kings list.

Of course, they got some other things wrong, such as Nefertiti saying he was dull and she didn't want anything to do with him, when he is definitely one of the most, if not the most, dynamic pharaohs in Egyptian history, and the two very very close, and operated very much as a "unit". But for the sake of plot, they had to overlook it, I know.

OH! TENTOO! (I was totally, and illogically stumped on how they were going to get David Tennant into the episode. It's obvious now, of course.)
