I'm hoping it'll be on at a cinema close enough to me to get to. If not, the telly will do. [lol]

Damia Flagg 10-21-2013 09:40 PM

I just had to watch the trailer a few times & read about all the things that people have found in the trailer so far.
I don't have cable or satellite so we don't get to watch stuff often. Actually it was a choice a few years ago to cut the television off, but stuff like this actually makes me miss it.

Kamikaze Kendra 10-21-2013 10:03 PM

No problem, Kat! Someone posted a link to it on Facebook and I just had to look. Some of it I really didn't recognize since I still need to go back and watch old!Who, but I guess I really wasn't paying close enough attention! There was a lot of stuff hidden in there!

I wonder, are they only going to show it in the UK in cinemas? They've been taking the US into account a lot lately, what with the 12th doctor announcement being simulcast and all. I would think that it would be possible to show it at the Seattle Center, considering that the Science Center has the IMAX screens, and the Science Fiction Museum is just next door, with the memorabilia. It would be good for the Center if it did happen...

Cherry Who? 10-22-2013 01:15 AM

We have a science center with an IMAX screen in St. Louis, too. Doubt they'd show it, but man, if they did...

It's looking like the couples cosplay is gonna have to wait for a con or something. Money didn't magically appear in my bank account, so I can't afford anything at all. I'm getting a job, but my paycheck won't be here before Halloween.

Cardinal Biggles 10-22-2013 01:38 AM

The Science Center has a couple of IMAX screens, and once the science center proper closes, it opens it up to standard movie showings. I was on duty for the Hobbit showing, and we got a lot of cosplayers. And the science center store was selling Hobbit stuff as well. So, at least they are open to pop-fantasy things.

Bearzy 10-22-2013 02:50 AM

It's going to be on at a cinema where I live in NZ, so I assume it's a worldwide deal!

Cardinal Biggles 10-22-2013 04:42 AM

It's in late november, right? Looks like they are only showing Catching Fire during that time period:IMAX At Pacific Science Center | IMAX Theaters/Shows | IMAX Theaters/Shows Yawn.

Bearzy 10-22-2013 09:21 AM

We don't have IMAX down here, so I dunno where you could go..

KatMagenta 10-22-2013 11:37 AM

Neither of the big cinema chains here (Empire and Cineworld, don't know if they have more dahn sarf) have it in their listings nor did a couple of independent cinemas I remembered the names of. Hoping they're just waiting to put them up. .-.

Bearzy 10-22-2013 12:28 PM

That's a shame!

EDIT: Ooooh, I found a list of cinemas that are hosting the episode! [x]

Cardinal Biggles 10-23-2013 12:13 AM

Ah, it says they haven't announced where they will be playing in the US and Canada yet.

Bearzy 10-23-2013 07:20 AM

Ah, that explains a lot!

Cherry Who? 10-24-2013 07:38 PM

U.S. screenings have been announced! Barely any on the day of the premiere (one in Seattle, though, Biggles!), but lots and lots the following Monday.

Here's stuff on non-U.S. showings

KatMagenta 10-24-2013 07:51 PM

Oop, I'd forgotten to check, the website kept crashing all my mobile browsers.

That website says the nearest Cineworld to me is showing it but the Cineworld listing only has five (far away) cinemas. :/

Cherry Who? 10-24-2013 09:16 PM

Hmm, weird. Maybe give it a few days to hopefully sort out all the issues, or give your local one a call and ask what's up?

Cardinal Biggles 10-24-2013 09:41 PM

Lol @ how they list it as Seattle-Tacoma, and then say it's in Bellevue, which is farther north than both of those.
Shame it's not at the Science Center. My museum administration senses were tingling.

KatMagenta 10-24-2013 11:00 PM

I just checked now and it's a longer list of locations that doesn't feature some of the original five so I guess I'll wait. [dunno]

So I know we are overall very annoyed and displeased with "that other avatar site that starts with a G and doesn't care for anything except coming up with new ways to get kids to steal their parent's credit cards".

However, once in a blue moon, I blow the dust off of my old account and actually find something that catches my fancy. The latest instance... for the traditional 'trick or treat in the stores', they have the NPCs dressed up for Halloween. The NPC Nicolae is cosplaying as Captain Jack Harkness:

Cherry Who? 10-25-2013 08:32 PM

Wonderful! [lol]

BellyButton 10-25-2013 08:49 PM

Ha, that's great!

KatMagenta 10-25-2013 10:50 PM

Heh, that's cool. I thought there had been a Ten costume in the past but apparently there was an Eleven NPC last year.

Cineworld website caught up with reality and I booked our tickets. [eager] I think they must have added another screen because the first one they showed in the options was all but sold out and the second one was nearly empty.

BellyButton 10-25-2013 10:51 PM

Looks like there are three choices near me for the 2nd wave showings. Neat!

KatMagenta 10-25-2013 10:54 PM

I need my dad to drive us to the cinema it's on at so we could only go on Saturday. [sweat]

The_Crow 10-26-2013 05:07 AM

I got a pair of tickets to see Day of the Doctor at the Metreon in SF :)
