Aww yeah no piggy bank. :( I love piggy banks.. I'm very good at filling them with change and small notes and never realising I can actually use the money from them. So I'm hoping I can actually open some of them one day and realise I have loads of cash to spare. 8D I have an awesome Batman tin with me here, and back home I've got a small pig and a terribly ugly slice of cake that my brother gave me for Christmas.. he actually welded it shut so that top open it, I'm going to have to break it. Which would be more awesome if it wasn't so terribly ugly. xD
And no, you're definitely never too old for piggy banks. They're useful things.

Woodlandnymph 02-19-2010 03:50 AM

Sorry guys! I assumed that Newbury would have the Tardis online too, silly me. Amazon.com: Doctor Who Tardis Talking Money Bank: Toys & Games This is the one I found in the store, it's just about the same price, minus the whole shipping thing.
I agree ljosberinn, one can never be too old for a piggy bank. Because I'm so excited to use my Tardis, I never really use my change throughout the day, and empty it every night. So now, after only three weeks or so, it is getting pretty heavy. It's a nice, sneaky way to save up for something. I might end up putting Tardis money towards my next tattoo :P

Also, smashing something open like that is fantastic. I don't know why, but it is always so satisfying.

@Lostin>>> Does your name refer to Lost in Austen? XD Cause that would be so cool.

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-19-2010 06:04 PM

Piggy banks are cool ^.^ Especially a light up Tardis one! 83
I don't personall have a piggy bank, but if I spot one like woodlandnymph's, I might be tempted to buy it XD

ljosberinn 02-19-2010 06:13 PM

Hmm, with shipping to the UK you can get it for about £25 it seems.. which is a bit too much for a money bank to be honest, even if it is a TARDIS money bank. Money banks should be cheap, since the whole point of them is to save money after all. P:
I think I have a fair bit of money in my piggy bank back home, so this summer I might empty it and put some of it toward traveling. Fun!

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-19-2010 06:14 PM

Well~ maybe not one from overseas. XD

Travelling is always fun o: Anywhere you want to go in particular? :3

ljosberinn 02-19-2010 06:19 PM

It's strange the UK Amazon doesn't have it.. they have a Dalek piggy bank but not the TARDIS one. :/ I wonder if Forbidden Planet has them..

Yay traveling! Well, I'm going to Istanbul in late March and hopefully going to Egypt from there, if we can find a flight. If we can't find anything cheap from Egypt, we might just stay in Istanbul or maybe go over to Syria, which would mean I would love to go to Egypt and travel around the Middle East later this year.. my friend and I really want to go to Amsterdam again too and if we have enough money we might go this summer. And my mum has suggested me and my brother go to France this summer to learn French, which would be awesome.
Eeee I'm so excited. x__________x

AkihitoKage 02-19-2010 07:06 PM

Hey ljos, I think I have seen that in Forbidden Planet XD Never online though, but I saw it in the store in Manchester a few times. Would be an idea to check them out.

I totally want one X3 But I'm saving up for a Ianto Jones figurine when they're re-released.

KatMagenta 02-19-2010 07:30 PM

I was in Forbidden Planet today looking at comics but I think I would have noticed TARDIS money boxes if they'd been there. ^^;

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-19-2010 08:43 PM

ljos; Ooooh Istanbul o:
I learnt french at school. I've already forgotten most of it. =w="

Rhumbullion 02-19-2010 10:43 PM

YOU HAVE A GIANT SPORK!

ljosberinn 02-19-2010 10:53 PM

Hmm, I will go to Forbidden Planet when my foot heals and see if I can find them. Even if they don't have money boxes, I've been wanting a sonic screwdriver for ages. >.>

Pie: Yeah same here.. I took five semesters of French but I can only learn very basic stuff.. I can sort of understand simple French - I can read Le Petit Prince pretty easily, though it helps that I know the story, I guess. And I can write it okay, though with the help of a dictionary because my memory is so terrible.
I would love to catch up on it though. And going to France and being surrounded by it would help so much with that.

Also: Yay we finally made pancakes! And we managed to mess them up! :'D

TaiyoTsuki 02-19-2010 11:03 PM

Hello! I'm back from the dead--and getting over bronchitis. I hate being sick!

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-19-2010 11:36 PM

Rhumbullion; CH'YEAH 8D
ljos; Same here, it's all basic stuff, like. I went out shopping with my friends > <"

LMAO. How did you mess them up? XD

ljosberinn 02-19-2010 11:42 PM

I don't even know! We followed some random recipe we found online (neither of us have ever made pancakes from scratch, mind you!), mixed it as well as we could without measuring tools and it just came out all wrong. Apparently we were using the wrong pan, so the pancakes burned and stuck to it, and apparently our batter wasn't thick enough, even though we already thought we were using way too much flour. >.> Thankfully, our other housemate is like.. a genius (one day, she is going to be the perfect housewife and make some man extremely happy) and she saved us. We felt like such losers having to call her downstairs to save us because we couldn't make pancakes. :') Sometimes I just think my mind is too masculine to belong anywhere near the kitchen except to eat in it..

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-19-2010 11:50 PM

I didn't think pancake batter needed to be thick O___o"
Hehe, good for you, you have that housemate XD That's very kind of her to help you though x]

Did you put any Vodka into it in the end? XD

ljosberinn 02-19-2010 11:58 PM

Well no, not thick, but thicker.. apparently ours was seriously runny. Dx She is our saviour. She also cleans when she's bored. And she's bored a lot. :')
Nooo we didn't actually.. we'll try it next time! I didn't even have my White Russian actually.. my friend has a bit of a fever, so he wasn't in the mood for drinking. We only made enough batter for like four or five pancakes anyway (plus two that sort of turned uh.. scrambled..) so we're making some more again soon. We already have way too much whipped cream and jam and syrup and canned fruit. xD

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-20-2010 12:10 AM

Omg! I have a friend who does that too @[email protected]
Like, the whole of summer, her cleaner went away, and she cleaned the wholleee house ( her house is massive @[email protected]) by herself. Without being asked. And she told me when she's bored she goes and cleans.
I'm always asking her to come round my house when she's bored <:
My room is a dump XD"
LMAO. One of mine scrambled too XD"
Yummy, whipped cream x] I forgot to get some for my hot chocolate >Q<

ljosberinn 02-20-2010 12:33 AM

I don't get it! But I sure can appreciate it! :'D Me and Dan are so lazy, we can rarely be bothered cleaning. Though my dirt limit is definitely smaller than his.. Anyway, since she has an even smaller limit than either of us, she's usually cleaned already before it's reached either of ours. Though we do help out when we notice her doing it. It's just that she tends to get most bored when she wakes up early, which she does a lot (what a strange girl!) and so we're usually asleep when she's cleaning. >.>
My room is an organized mess. 8D
Woo scrambled pancakes! And boo no whipped cream. Dan loved the whipped cream so much, he kept spraying it in his hand and licking it off. He should be such a fattie, but he just stays thin as anything, no matter what he eats.

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-20-2010 12:39 AM

Woww, strange indeed XD I'm never up early. Our house is quiet till like, noon on Sundays XD"

That's like me. I live off like, junk food... sorta XD"and I'm still a healthy weight xP

ljosberinn 02-20-2010 12:54 AM

Yeah same.. the sleep you get in the morning is just the best sleep. Mmmm. And our house is quiet till like.. late afternoon on Sundays usually. >.> Me and Dan are usually just crawling in and into bed around four on Sunday mornings. Though not now, thanks to my foot. It's strange not going out.

Psh, you naturally thin people. *sticks tongue out* I'm nowhere near obsessed with what I eat, but I still have to mind it if I want to stay a healthy weight. Though I don't like fast food much, except for a sort of inbetween when I'm feeling particularly lazy. I usually prefer pretty healthy stuff.

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-20-2010 01:04 AM

Wow, four >w<
Ahh~ Your foot >: It's so good you didn't need metal put in >.<

I'm like you~ I don't really like fast food either >.< Apart from when I just can't be bothered. =w=
I want an apple~ I've been craving apples for a while. My stupid braces stop me from biting them x___o"

ljosberinn 02-20-2010 01:14 AM

Psh, four is boringly early. It's not a proper night out unless you're getting the first trains back the morning after, crawling into bed at like, eight. :')
Yes, I'm so glad. It's unnatural enough when I can feel the break sort of.. grinding. Ugh. >.<

Aw, too bad. I'm glad I've never had to have braces.. can't you eat them if you cut them down in small bites or something? I just ordered some food today, so tomorrow I'll get some delicious mango and salads. Yum! Though I mostly ordered ready-meals, since I can't be bothered cooking anything more complicated when standing up is such an effort. I'm going to get really bored with ready-meals in like, less than a week though.

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-20-2010 01:22 AM

I haven't done that before, is it fun? 8DD
Grinding @[email protected]"

I did that once. Still took me half an hour to eat most of it. It hurt too much and I didn't finish it. =w= ♥
Omg mangoooo ♥ I haven't had it in such a long time.

Ah well, a week is a week XD
[sorry for the late replies @[email protected] I'm always relying on that live response thing and it doesn't seem to be working on your thread x__o]

ljosberinn 02-20-2010 01:33 AM

You're missing out. : D
There's just not that many clubs here that stay open that late.. occasionally you will find some that are open till six, like Heaven, but most seem to close at three. In Iceland everything is open till at least five in the morning..
But yeah, you know it's a good night when you can spend five or six hours straight just dancing. Sure it means you're sore the rest of the weekend, but it's so worth it. :3

Ow. :c How long do you have to keep the braces for? Maybe you can just have apple flavoured things instead? I know it's not the same, but it might be enough to get rid of the craving..?
Mangos are deliiiiicious.

Isn't it? Strange, it usually works for me.. and no worries. I'm hopping between pages. Should be looking for flights but too sleepy/silly to focus.

x-cutie-x-pie-x 02-20-2010 01:37 AM

5 @[email protected]"
In Hong Kong, you could shop 24 hours. XD They're like, always open @[email protected]
And the markets are the best at like, 2am XD"
Not the same as dancing, but still. Late X] Or early O___o"

Er...I'm not sure. I think another half year? D= If I'm lucky. x__x"
 Mango, Pineapple, tropical fruits, yum x] Ever tried lychees? o:

You can always look for flights, just be silly now 8D
God, what am I talking about. XD I'm a little cranky this late XD
