I'm already registered to go to college this fall. In August I'll be reporting from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale!

KatMagenta 05-24-2010 08:34 PM

I ended up staying in my old room for most of the day on Sunday so I watched The Hungry Earth there. I really enjoyed it too, looking forward to the second part.

Someone on Tumblr was talking about the rise of 11/Rory fanfiction and I fear a certain line from this episode will just add to it. XD

TaiyoTsuki 05-24-2010 08:38 PM

I'm wondering whether or not to kill PBS.....

KatMagenta 05-24-2010 08:49 PM

What have PBS done?

TaiyoTsuki 05-24-2010 08:54 PM

They're taking forever to show the Eleventh Doctor episodes. I WANNA FRIGGIN' SEE THEM!

KatMagenta 05-24-2010 09:02 PM

Aww, that sucks. I could attempt to re-enact them for you but it wouldn't quite be the same.

TaiyoTsuki 05-24-2010 09:36 PM

And I'd probably be going "...what?" at the end.

*strangles imaginary PBS*

Which line?

KatMagenta 05-24-2010 09:44 PM

I would most likely have to play all of the parts because everyone is going home for the summer so it wouldn't really work. Unless I adapted the show to just be the Doctor giving a monologue while holding a sign saying "I am the Doctor- really."

Lostin: It was something like "I need you alongside me". I just imagined that these fangirls (or fanboys) would happily take a line like that out of context for their 'cause'. XD

TaiyoTsuki 05-24-2010 09:46 PM

I'm bored as heck.....

Lost in Austen 05-24-2010 09:55 PM

*sigh* Those sort of things really bug me. I guess they're harmless enough, but they just annoy me everytime I see them. Especially the Doctor/Master stuff. I mean, SERIOUSLY? They're enemies. >_<

Sixkiller 05-24-2010 10:03 PM

Try browsing the Doctor Who fanart on DA o.o; It's a lot of Rose/10 and Jack/10 but to me the Doctor wouldn't do that...ever. Which is mostly why I've come to dislike the Rose and Tennant season.
I'll stop here before I fly off into an anti-Tennant/Tennant fangirl rant.

TaiyoTsuki 05-24-2010 10:04 PM

So far my favorite Doctor has been Ten...but then again, the only Doctors I've seen are One, Nine, and Ten....not much to go by there, I know.

KatMagenta 05-24-2010 10:06 PM

Thankfully not having a DA account has protected me from seeing the worst stuff on that site but I used to be active on livejournal so I've seen my share. >.<

Anyway, I best be off home before it gets even later.

Sixkiller 05-24-2010 10:06 PM

I don't hate Ten or even dislike him, but, as with most things, when the fandom is on the breaking point for me I start coasting down into the pit of dislike and utter annoyance.

Lost in Austen 05-24-2010 10:07 PM

Personally I think Ten might have had a special regard for Rose. He came close to saying it, a few times. But I don't think he would have ever settled down with her. Or anyone. So, yeah, I can see both sides of that argument, really. He is, afterall, the Doctor -- this alien from another planet, who views relationships differently than we do--- but then again, it's not like he doesn't have feelings. And I definitely see that Rose will always be special to him.

Sixkiller 05-24-2010 10:15 PM

See I disagree. Rose would be special to him in the same regard as Nyssa, Tegan, Zoe, ect. The Doctor has left companions in other dimensions before, see Romana II/ K-9 Mark IV, but story wise there are only a select few the doctor ever really holds dear. Susan, Adric, and Sarah Jane. Sarah Jane because she traveled with him for so long. Susan because she is the Doctor's grand daughter. Adric, is the boy who the doctor couldn't save.

Not meaning to sound like an elitist but, I honestly hold Adric's death as more tragic than what the New series has given us. Adric being alone on a space ship bound to crash into prehistoric earth and he's just about to solve the equation on the computer to stop the ship from exploding when I Cyberman wanders in and shoots the console, Adric's fine line: "Now, I'll never know if I was right" BOOM :'<

Again sorry for sound like/ being and elitist nerd.

TaiyoTsuki 05-24-2010 10:33 PM

I'm gonna stay outta this...sorta. I agree with Sixkiller on the fact that the Doctor would never settle down with anyone. That's just not how he is; he's a hyperactive Time Lord who's always managing to get into some kind of trouble.

Sixkiller 05-24-2010 11:10 PM

I don't mean to start a big debate ;>.>

TaiyoTsuki 05-24-2010 11:23 PM

That's alright. I don't mind...just enjoying watching you two talk. I guess I agree with both of you in a lot of ways; yeah, the RosexDoctor obsession can get annoying, but it did look like the Doctor came close to telling Rose he loved her. He'd never have settled down, though; he's too restless to do that.

And on an off note, I've been watching AMVs (I know I'm a dork) and found a kick-ass Naruto one: YouTube - [Naruto AMV] Tears Of The Friendship

Lost in Austen 05-24-2010 11:37 PM

I do believe he might have loved her without wanting to settle down with her.
Cuz, I mean, he's wise enough to know that he can never have a normal life...

He never would have started that "Rose Tyler.... [I love you?]" sentence unless he'd been certain he'd never see her again, thus making it not really matter if he said it. But then notice that when she returns and asks him to finish his sentence, he refuses. Because it's the reality he chooses to ignore.

Cetes Forge 05-24-2010 11:51 PM

Hello. ^_^ Glad to see there are Doctor Who fans here too. I love Doctor Who

Sixkiller 05-25-2010 12:20 AM

He may have loved her in a platonic way, which is true to his character. He does love and care for most of his traveling companions.

If anything it's apparent that the 10th doctor was a hopeless romantic, which is why I like the 11th Doctor's goofy yet stern demeanor.
"I am the last of my species"
"No, you're really not. Because I am the last of MY species and I know how that sits on the heart. So don't insult me!"
I love that exchange between 11 and the Siluran.

Lost in Austen 05-25-2010 12:22 AM

Stern, yes, but I didn't see any "goofy" in that statement, lol.

A hopeless romantic... that sounds about right. That's probably why I love Ten so much. But yeah, it is nice to have a change!

Hey, Cetes Forge! How are you?

Sixkiller 05-25-2010 03:22 AM

Well no not in that statement. He's more goofy in his actions and stern in his words.

*pops out of cake*
"Rory! Oh thank goodness, I thought I might jump out of the wrong cake...again. That reminds me there's a girl outside in a bikini could some one let her in and give her a jumper?"
