I used to live near Abilene, Texas. Now I live near Beaumont, Texas.

Near Abilene, I sat in the dead center of 3 tornadoes watching them work their way past me. It seems to me you've got a better chance in tornadoes. I mean, some skip across the ground, so they have been known to hit a house, jump one or two and then hit another. The also generally travel through one spot so the destruction is generally focused on one area. They also hit and go. These hurricanes do massive destruction on a much wider scale for hours and hours and you don't even know if you have a house until you return from the evac. The only good thing I can say about them is plenty of warning. LOL

I've never been in an earthquake, but the entire idea of being in one kind of makes me want to hyperventilate. LOL I don't know what I'd do if the earth below me decided to betray my entire life experience LOL

I did that once on that super strong earthquake on the day before Halloween... Did you feel that one?

*nod* I suppose if you could calculate the direction of the winds and therefore which direction the tornado is moving, than you can make sure to get out of its way... Otherwise, it seems like a gamble to me, to wait in your house... Unless you continuously watch the tornado... You're right, you cannot miss a hurricane... ;;
I think becuz I was born in Cali and have been feeling them since I was 3 I'm not afraid of them... but yeah, they can be pretty crazy.
