the disjointed sound of vocaloids is what puts me off most of the time.. i know they can't be perfect, but i'm such a nitpicker that it just.. bothers me. XD and gakupo's voice sounds so slick too.

I'm looking at iTunes right now and it tells me that I have over 70 tracks that are all Gackt. So yes, I'm a huge fan. XD
I wouldn't expect him to continue his career much longer. He needs to quit sometime. The guy needs a break! I probably would have collapsed of exhaustion a long time ago if I had been him. I don't know how he did it.
I wish him the best luck in whatever he decides to do. I'll be sad if he quits, but I totally understand. It's his choice.

Actually he has collapsed of exhaustion backstage at lives. Multiple times. This is why I worry about him so much. He works way too hard. :(

Unfortunately it is seeming less and less likely as time goes by. It seems almost as though he decided that taking a break in 2008 was "enough."

Knowing him, we probably won't know for sure until the time comes.

MAJOR edit: More evidence against him going through with 2010 (he'd damn well better be taking care of himself at least, or I swear, hero or no, I WILL track him down and tell him off big time)...but absolutely EXCELLENT news for us overseas fans - Dears is taking input from overseas fans and may be open to us very soon.

I sang Vanilla for a school talent show. I'm lucky nobody knew what the lyrics meant. I'd have been in a whole wad of trouble.

Anyway... Gackt is amazing. I'm very worried about him though. I can't believe he's planning on retiring in 2010... It's kinda sad. He pushes himself too hard and his body pays for it. I still love him though.

I love Gackt. I really hope he doesn't commit suicide. That would be terrible. He does seem under a lot of stress, like most actors and actresses. But the most troublesome thing is poor Gackt's looks and loosing them would be a gaint stab to his heart! Looks aren't always everything... and I wish Gackt seemed to understand that.

I will repeat, I trust him not to do anything stupid. He may be a bit...strange, perhaps would be the word...but he's not stupid; he knows how many people he would hurt. I worry more about him overworking himself...number one cause of death in Japan. x__x;

The good thing is, from what I know he's been taking better care of himself lately.

Trust me. He won't do anything like that.
At least, not until he finds who he's looking for.

That aside, I've heard the same old griping that he's egotistical and whatever negativity people can pull up. But really he's one of the sweetest artists out there. Once you get a glimpse of him behind the scenes ( such as in candid footage or in a lot of his more relaxed interviews ) you can see he really just likes to make people laugh - in fact he said so at one point.

And there are a lot of people who are concerned about the fact he pushes himself so hard, but the way I see it that's almost unavoidable. That's his type, he has to see how far he can carry things. And when his emotions are involved he doesn't want to hold them back or cheapen anything. He wants people to hear and feel the music the same way he does - down to every nuance.
Creating music is at once the simplest and yet most complicated thing you can do - especially for a living.

He is a sweetheart. He really is...he's just incredible. In all my life I have never met anyone who has made me laugh so much. My best friend has come close, but...XD Nope, you can't beat someone who has stood a car against a wall vertically.

He never really took any getting used to, not for me. But then again...I'm a bit strange myself, and so is he, so it was perfect. XD

Unfortunately, I'm well aware that it's kinda in his nature to push himself too hard - that's why I worry about him so much; he and I are a lot alike (right down to tiny little things in many cases, it's almost scary - I'm a left-handed Mac user who was trained to write right-handed even XD), and I have worked on writing music or practicing my instruments until I have passed out on my computer, keyboard, or guitar - I have to say, it looks very strange to wake up with the imprint of guitar strings on my face.
...and I'm not even particularly active yet, just preparing...I know my bandmates are going to have to physically drag me off to keep me from overworking myself just the same way he does. :sweat: That's just how I am...that's just how he is...that's just why I worry myself sick about him sometimes.

I didn't have to get used to Gackt either. I heard his music at a convention... looked him up... saw youtube videos. ;3 It was all really fun!! The I preceeded to get the albums and even a poster for my wall. My mom said "She's pretty!" when she saw Gackt. O_O; I had to explain he was a guy... and the photo poster didn't even LOOK like guy's attire. =3 I thought it was hilarious. But then again, Gackt IS beautiful! They even have a Ball-jointed doll modeled after him... If I was rich...

My first sort of encounter with him...was very very strange. Which...I guess was an indicator of things to come. It was early November 2005, I believe...at that time I was a new Gaia addict, JUST getting into anime and J-music and everything (I was a sheltered child in a boring town, hush), and...suddenly the forums just went into this HUGE uproar over...what turned out to be Wikipedia vandalism (obviously if you hear the story), but right near everyone was just falling all over themselves, thinking he had throat cancer and was going to either lose his voice or die. What's more, selfish assholes who don't want to lose his voice are hoping he DOESN'T have surgery.

Here I am, I've heard the man's name thrown around here and there, nothing more. Never heard one of his songs, never seen his picture, nothing, and I start feeling SICK...but somehow I know it's all fake. And I'm going around actually TELLING people "Guys...for one, this reeks of Wiki vandalism, for two, you people are being awfully damn selfish saying you'd rather someone die than stop singing for precious little you."

Soon enough, the Wikipedia page got changed back, the freakout cleared up, and I was proved right. I left Gaia for three days afterward. In the meantime, I looked up some of his PVs, just...out of pure curiosity...and I just fell in love right away.

And, well...things have remained very very strange ever since (half the songs he's released this year, I have heard in my head a few weeks BEFOREHAND, as an example). Keeps life interesting. ^_^

Also, I have seen that doll - one of my (online) friends has one. I want one...so badly. I swear I will get one one day...one day!

Oh, man. This guy was my introduction to Japanese music and I had a huge crush on him at thirteen. I loved his music and I still listen to him every now and then.

I need to listen to more of his new songs.

I've just been so busy with everything though. I don't have time anymore!

I've never heard any of his music. I have a friend that adores him though. She would talk about him...a lot.. He's really pretty and cute. I just wanna hug him *day dreams* he's not much of a dancer though. Very cute though. I'll have to listen to his music eventually ^^

Oh, he CAN dance well; I've seen it...he just chooses to dance comically; personally I think it's cute, in a very amusing way. X3

I can recommend a few songs of his based on your musical tastes if you'd like - his style is so varied I can find something of his that near everyone will like.

I love Gackt...his general attitude toward life is very inspiring. I have been hearing some rumors about his health and I must say I am worried. The world will be a worse place when it loses Gackt-san. I need to look up this new song.
