Seconded. I mean, I'd love to hold a thread about character flaws and how to create full, even characters.

Yes! Thank you! I really want to do that in the OOC forum. But it feels out of place. I also feel there needs to be more roleplaying guides, like the one already in the OOC. Because there are different things about roleplaying that are extremely annoying that aren't listed in that guide. And I find a lot of people on Menewsha roleplaying those very annoying things.

If we had a proper roleplay discussion subforum, I think maybe the bad roleplayers will actually start improving simply because all of that information will be available to them and they'll learn better. And if they don't, well, at least a couple will.

And I always think it's nice to hear others' opinions regarding certain aspects of roleplay.

Over the time here on Menew, I've found my self wanting to ask a question, and I've always wanted to ask it on menew if only because of the easy communication.

It might also be a good tie in to a trivia forum- or something akin to it.

I second this, you have no idea how many times I have needed to look something up and had to ask. I can not use google to save my life. No matter what I type in I get "questionable"content, even with a limited search, so I normally just ask some one else to help. It saves me a headache and my computer the virus I would unknowingly down load.

kerryfox 02-22-2009 03:21 AM

Theatre form probably has too small of an interest group here but it is worth mentioning.

Cricket, writing form has some thing like that. Writing Discussion/Story Help is the one, mayhap that but RP Discussion and Help. I could see it being popular, and I know I would abuse it to the fullest. >>;

HW helps is well not one I would support. I think it would need heavy moderation and strict rules to be effective, other wise every one would want some one to do their HW for them.

Lilianaire 02-24-2009 12:15 AM

I agree with a bunch of what's already been said. I really like the "spiritual" forum Cricket suggested. It'd be a great way for those in the community to learn about things they didn't know before (and it's something I'd be reeeally interested in :))

[Hero] 02-24-2009 01:44 AM

I'd like a chatterbox. Just, you don't earn gold there. I'd like a place where you could just be random and crazy and you don't have to worry about it being on topic.

King 02-25-2009 02:26 AM

Only problem with a chatterbox, Hero, is that it may lead to major spam and could become a nightmare for moderators and staff. Of course certain spam would be allowed, posting might be so fast that questionable content over the PG13 rating might be missed. That's the downside to those things, a forum like that would need to be observed heavily.

jellysundae 02-25-2009 03:21 AM

Not gonna happen [Hero]. You want to be random and crazy you can make a hangout thread in Menewsha Nation, but we're never, ever, ever, etc...gonna have a spam forum.

Elwing 02-25-2009 11:05 AM

How about a forum where you can discuss other games,
like playstation, wii, xbox, nintendo stuff or online games and what not.
We do not have that yet, right? I sort of miss it xD

And, maybe some sort of help forum where you can ask questions like,
how do I re-install this and that on my computer?
or, how do I make a (sorry this is so random) toy for my hamster?
a general real life help forum thing. ^^;
Just some ideas.

jellysundae 02-25-2009 09:46 PM

Elwing... Computers & Video Games

Elwing 02-26-2009 11:34 AM

jellysundae... *sigh* I was gonna say something brilliant,
but all I can say now is, I think I need glasses xD
How about the other option I gave? =3 =3 =3

jellysundae 02-26-2009 04:13 PM

We have a tech help forum down already as one that will be added :)

katyasha 02-26-2009 05:08 PM

An Off-Topic/Chatterbox section?
They can post useless topics and earn gold or not it's up to you.

jellysundae 02-26-2009 06:07 PM

Nu uh. That's not ever going to happen :)

Elwing 02-26-2009 06:20 PM

Maybe a seperate pixel art sub-forum at the art forum?
Now it is all mixed together with normal art.
Pixels have rights xD

jellysundae 02-26-2009 08:16 PM

Is it needed? That's a rather slow-moving forum. One of our main considerations is forums that are actually going to be used frequently, not be created then sit practically empty because there's not really any call for them yet.

katyasha 02-27-2009 04:00 PM

I got it came to me last night how about new games in the game section. Everyone loves puzzle games you should put one or two in there for fun and they can earn gold and to make it more fun throw in a rare item as well.

jellysundae 02-27-2009 04:07 PM

That's nothing to do with the forums though :) Nor is it something that can be done with just a bit of code shuffling and a new icon pixelled, it means a great deal of money that the site doesn't have being spent.

Thats true. Okay nevermind then ^^

Insane Cricket 02-27-2009 06:48 PM

I would actually like to see the pixel art subforum become it's own forum, too. I think one of the reasons why it might be so slow is because it gets overlooked a little as a subforum. But that's just my opinion. ^^;;

I dunno, I think this idea might not be a good one because Gaia has one, and I don't know how the staff might feel about it, but perhaps a petitions forum/subforum? So if there's an item that people really, really, really want, they can make a thread with the item examples and people can post with whether they like the idea or not?

I know we have the item suggestion threads, but other users might not read all the way through them to give support to ideas that they like.

While writing and roleplaying can very easily go hand-in-hand together, I feel that for the sake of the roleplayers and the writers (as well as avoiding having to forum hop) they should be separate. The help/discussion for roleplaying could be a single subforum in the roleplaying forum.

jellysundae 02-27-2009 10:27 PM

I certainly don't want a petitions forum, people just use those to spam. We have site feedback, there's no need for anything more at this stage of the site's development. We certainly don't want any of the crap that Gaia's forum gets used for, like people trying to get the rules changed to suit their preferences, and their rightfully banned friends re-instated : /

CK 02-27-2009 11:30 PM

Petition threads could be renamed, "Here's an idea - now everyone who agrees with me say 'me too'." threads. It's rather spammy by nature. :/ In a big site like Gaia, especially with its rules, it doesn't much matter. But on Menewsha where we're so small and rather willing to listen and discuss issues with our users, I feel petitions are unnecessary.

Insane Cricket 02-28-2009 03:34 AM

Yeah, like I said, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not.

For the most part, I meant it in a way that users could post up ideas for entire item sets and such (complete with avatar edits) and people could say 'yay' or 'nay' and actually explain why, and if they didn't put an explanation then they could be reported for spamming.

I completely understand why it wouldn't be wanted here. It was just an idea that ran through my head, that's all.

kokoso 03-02-2009 07:49 AM

I certainly agree with the idea of a fashion/style forum, it's something that I have a long held interest in.
Perhaps cooking, fashion, and hobbies could all be lumped under a general "lifestyle" forum?
I hate to compare Menewsha to Gaia, but out of all of the forum's they have, I have found the Lifestyle Discussion forum (or at a select few of it's subforums) to be the most helpful and pleasant of all.

katyasha 03-02-2009 05:18 PM

Ok I got it something that would help out the forum, a Anime, Sci-fi, Fantasy, ect Convention Thread. People love to talk about going to the con where they live and wonder if any one else is going as well. Also talk about what they thought about it and get more to come next year and have gatherings to meet people here on Menewasha as well.
Oh there should be a sub-thread to this as well to show off pictures they took at the con as well.
What do you think?

Esmereina 03-04-2009 06:19 AM

I was thinking....why not a Religion Forum? I don't know if it was suggested before..but you know maybe there should be a separate forum for that since not everyone wants to delve into this sometimes controversial topic... you know? but i also know of some of whom I had previously spoken with who love to talk about religion... whether it be Christianity..or Hinduism etc... you know?

Also I just thought of a Regional Forum... A place where you can set up like a "New Jersey" thread for those in New Jersey to chat together.. i dunno... that one might be risky...but its just a suggestion.
