Do it! :D Good luck!

And seriously, the midwest is dumb. I can't wait until the world wises up and realises you can't prosecute people for being the way they are. Ugh, people are dumb. I used to live in Michigan. I don't know how the people were about those issues in my town, but considering the town I lived in was the former head of the Ku Klux Klan in Michigan, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't friendly towards the LGBT community either. I don't remember anything about it either way though. Not that I saw any racism either. There wasn't anyone to be racist against, besides white people. Although one family did adopt some African American kids. I wasn't around them though. Different grade than the kids.

I believe Michigan sometime in the 90's there was a law passed that banned same sex marriage being recognized or performed. There are a select few cities that protect lgb people in some areas, but not all of them fully.

fairywaif 02-09-2011 02:50 AM

Yeah, I was pretty young when i left, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was true. makes me sad.

*Joins Hyena in flailing*

Hyena 02-09-2011 04:45 AM

We were actually thinking about getting married somewhere in Canada, and sticking around there for the honeymoon.

fairywaif 02-09-2011 04:52 AM

Canada's nice. I visited there once. Okay, more like hopped over the bridge and ate dinner there, but it was still nice. This was before you had to get a passport to cross the border there.

Hyena 02-09-2011 04:58 AM

I've been there several times. Toronto is my favorite city. <3

Cardinal Biggles 02-09-2011 05:03 AM

I really like Vancouver and nearby Victoria, myself.

Hyena 02-09-2011 05:08 AM

I've only really been to Toronto and the drive-between. So we're going to have to see what strikes our interest.

Cardinal Biggles 02-09-2011 05:15 AM

Sure. Shop around, Canada's got a lot to offer.

Hyena 02-09-2011 05:18 AM

Of course, this if far in the future. We're not making any plans officially until she comes out to her family. And even then, she's going to Montana in a few months so that's another delay. We'll probably commence the planning stages once she comes back in October.

Cardinal Biggles 02-09-2011 05:28 AM

So does she have a concrete coming out plan?

Hyena 02-09-2011 05:32 AM

Well, she wants to tell her parents either to their faces or in a phone call because its kind of rude to come out in a text or email. And its less likely that she'll get a ride down there and back or that they'd come all the way up just for that. So she's probably going to call them and try to be as honest as she can.

I'm going to call my parents and tell them that I'm engaged tomorrow, so I'm not waking them up in the middle of the night. xD

Cardinal Biggles 02-09-2011 05:36 AM

As I recall you had some pretty awesome parents. I'm sure they will be thrilled.

greendragon06 02-09-2011 05:38 AM

A big congrats to you Hyena! Have fun when you go to Canada to get it done- I haven't been to Toronto before sadly, only to Quebec and I know about a page worth of French, so that went awkwardly.

Legalizing Gay Marriage Could Lead to Android Marriage Says Maryland Gay Marriage Foe

Okay, so its hilarious about up until you read the comments where people COMPLETELY agree with him. They're like "I bet the gay advocates would think twice if they realized that their position on the matter would put them on equal footing with polygamists." And I'm thinking... y'know... if you can make a relationship between three or more people work without it fizzling into a ball of jealousy and drama, I see no problem with it. o_o

Cardinal Biggles 02-11-2011 10:28 PM

I saw that video. It was a strange jumble of things. Invoking the ankh as a christian cross, and then suggesting the people of Africa had god before the missionaries came? What does that have to do with the issue of gay marriage?

Kah Hilzin-Ec 02-12-2011 01:07 AM

People can be so stupid because they don't like making an effort to actually think for themselves :| I mean, if three people can live together, have sex together, and at the same time keep drama out of it, what's the problem? It's not like you will be forced to see them everytime they go for a threesome. Or that they're invading/raiding/corrupting churches with their lifestyle. Sheesh. Why do they just feel the neeeeeed to push their opinion on what should be done in a locked bedroom between two or more people, who by the way, were also born with the same free will, brain capacity, and thanks to the law, enjoy of something delicate called privacy?

Just... lol dem stupid trollz be trollin. Wouldn't be such a problem if they weren't a majority. It's hard to fight with a herd :|

Cardinal Biggles 02-12-2011 01:14 AM

My bad. I thought this was the video they were including in the article:
Android Marriage Is Coming... [VIDEO]

greendragon06 02-12-2011 04:19 AM

...that's so ridiculous I have no words.

fairywaif 02-13-2011 04:26 AM

Wow. just wow. People are ridiculous...

I agree, if you can make a relationship work, then go for it. I don't see any problem with polyamory. Honestly, i only have a problem with polygamists like those of the Mormons is because the women aren't treated as equals. As long as everyone is equal and treated fairly and there's no drama it should be fine.

Cardinal Biggles 02-13-2011 04:37 AM

I think that by and large, humans are too emotionally fragile to make polyamory work. But there are a few enlightened individuals out there, and as Fairy said, if everything is square between them, it's no skin off my nose.
