Will there be special event items that we can spend the yarn on, like the Yumeh Bats from halloween and such? :3

@Lathrine: That's what the snow buckets are for. ^^ The yarn can be donated to Channah or spent on event commons, but the snow is what you trade for the prizes (which is on the "Building a Snowman" page).

No, the event was not intended to make anyone feel guilty about spending their yarn. It's more about building relationships through posting and talking to your teammates, friendly competition (who can donate the most yarn), and just being happy to be around people you consider friends.

Let's face it. We're all members of avatar communities and each and every single one of us likes free stuff. If we really wanted you to feel bad, we wouldn't give you an opportunity to use the yarn for commons at all and let you spend your hard earned gold on them. We wouldn't give you event items at all, but that's not what we or the event are about, and I'm very sorry you feel that way Cherry.

The holidays to some are a time of sharing. Because of this we wanted to play on that feeling and bring it into our own event.

Our storyline and event is definitely not meant to make anyone feel guilty or greedy, Cherry. I'm saddened to hear that you feel this way, unless I've misunderstood where you're coming from.

If we called our character Greed anything else he would lose his intended effect. I apologize that it might offend some people, but there is no way we can anticipate every reaction from every side of the fence. All we can do is listen and built upon the feedback we receive.

This event will go on as planned, and if it doesn't work out well in regards to how the masses feel, we will definitely adjust. We want everyone to have a good time. We don't want anyone to feel badly or like they're being labeled if, for example they use their event currency to buy commons at their half-price.

Taking a virtual currency to take a virtual item is in no way reflective of how a person is on the inside. I wouldn't call anyone greedy for using their yarn to get a little holiday joy. It is quite literally meant to be a fun storyline and nothing more.

I'm using my yarn. I see no reason why anyone shouldn't if they'd like to.

I'm happy whether Greed is defeated and Channah wins and the Snowman is completed. Or if Greed wins.

It's great fun to me either way. And I want my shiny toys.
