I didn't receive any useless gifts from my family this year, but that has happened in the past.

I did, for example, once receive a particularly frightful, off-neon green cable-knit sweater from my grandmother. And, since I have breasts, it was short on my torso and showed my belly button. It was a peculiar kind of hideous that belongs on the list of deadly sins.

My response to it was something along the lines of: :o WTF?

I also have an aunt who is a very enthusiastic "Greenie"-- as am I, but she takes it too far. She thinks that plastic is evil, so as a way of "helping me" to avoid using the plastic tupperware I usually take to restaurants-- so that I don't waste restaurant take away boxes-- she got me a giant metal layered contraption of doom which is, at best, useless, and at worst it is impossible to store. And after she gave it to me she nodded her head smilingly, as though I were slow of the mind, and said, "Now you can throw away your plastic ones!"

Er. Right.


Her heart was in the right place?...

This year I everything I got was awesome (I didn't really expect to get anything so yay) but one year I got a set of christmas themed hand towels. In the persons defense they thought the towels were cute and had penguins on them (I like penguins) but, those towels have sat in their box unused for almost two years.

Hm... I dunno. I did get some useless stuff this year but last years useless gift was a lot more awful so I'll use that one:

I got this ugly pink sweater from my grandparents. I actually looked at the same sweater in black at Walmart and then got yelled at by Mom saying something about how it was almost Christmas and I shouldn't be getting stuff. Well... Of course... On Christmas I get the sweater that I was looking at and it's in this pastel pink color. My grandparents were like "You look so good in pink!" Ug. I hate pink. I'll never wear it. >.<

I got a hat and jeans that are cool but they don't fit me. If I don't lose weight soon enough, I will give away my pair of jeans as a present for my friend for her b-day. And that hat would be saved for next Christmas. xD

I also got a spa kit which I am unsure if I will ever use. If not, that shall be for someone's gift next Christmas also. Other than that, everything else I am satisfied with. =)

Reading over this thread, I'm beginning to think that someone ought to take out an ad:

"Warning. This Holiday, please resist the urge to give your younger relatives sweaters. It can only end badly."

Well i liked most of my gifts. pretty much since im not a very picky person. So i was pleased very much so XD. Enough art supplies to last me a year or two and 250 bucks. not a bad christmas.

I was really happy with most of my gifts this year but I really don't know what they want me to do with THREE calendars D:

Heh. You could pick up secret double lives? It's a lot of work, but it would give you something to do with the calendars. :angel:

I actually use multiple calendars... which is a good thing, because sometimes I lose them.

I just keep one calendar pinned up in my dorm room, and I already had a 2009 one before christmas @[email protected] guess I don't have an excuse not to know what day it is now
