~Not Everything Goes As Planned~ Soquira and Tut'ankhamun

[[ All right, this is a private roleplay between Tut'ankhamun and I. Feel free to read through it if you'd like however, no posting please. If you have any questions I suppose you can PM one of us. ^^; ]]
:: Selena Rice ::

Running a hand through her hair, the blond grimaced as she watched her reflection in the mirror. Everybody else had gone to bed hours ago, it was nearing one in the morning after all, but still she stood in front of the full length mirror, an expression of pure irritation clear upon her features. Much to her dismay, Selena had not been sleeping well since the war had started, even though she rarely allowed herself to worry about it, after all if there was anything to trouble her personally, well her guards could take care of it with ease.

The princess had grown up spoiled - that was an undeniable truth. Raised in the palace her entire life, with the exception of travelling to other palaces to meet royalty from other countries and such, she had been raised to believe that her life was meant to be relatively easy and that she wouldn't suffer in the slightest after becoming queen. Spoiled, and vain, not too mention downright arrogant, it was true that many people were less than fond of their princess, though most never dared to share this fact with her.

As she watched her reflection, her frown deepened. She was beautiful, yes, she hadn't met anybody who had dared to deny that fact yet. But still here she was at eighteen years old unmarried and without any experience in the world of dating. One of the many results of being raised by a mother who was terrified of letting her precious daughter out of her sight for the smallest of moments.

As she walked across the room to peer out the window, she looked down at the dress she wore. Made of white silk, the dress fit her perfectly, showing off her voloptious figure. Her hair was a golden blonde that reached her just below her waist, and her eyes were a bright an emerald green that contrasted well with her pale white flesh.

She stood at the window for a moment, toying with the sapphire at the end of the silver necklace she wore and she frowned. The main town in her kingdom wasn't that far off, less than a mile, not that the young woman had ever had to walk a length that was even close to a mile. Her parents had never allowed her to visit the town, even under the supervision of her guards.

Running a hand through her hair once more, she decided it might be best to leave that for another time. Her guards were most likely wide awake and would catch her if she decided to leave. And there was no way in hell, that she was going out the window. Three stories up was a little too high of a drop for her. Laying back down on her bed, she allowed a small sigh to escape her lips and forced her eyes shut. Hoping she would be able to get at least some sleep.

Johnny slid the last of his daggers into his boot, his mind racing. He had never had to infiltrate a castle before, nor had he had to climb three stories before. But then, that could be because he had never been hired to assassinate a princess before. But, his king was paying him well for this, and he wouldn't have to steal for at least a month.

That was Johnny's profession. He was a thief turned assassin. It had taken the king quite a while to find him. Johnny didn't like to make it known that he was there. What self-respecting thief that wanted to stay out of prison did?

Johnny's black shaggy hair, that seriously needed a wash, whipped in the wind as he made his way up to the castle. There was no doubt that the castle would be heavily guarded. All he could hope for was a tree right outside her window, or that the wall below her window was covered in hand and foot holds.

The castle grounds were dark, and by a stroke of luck, Johnny got all the way up the the castle without being seen. It was as if no guards were out. They must be guarding on the inside. But, with the war and all, wouldn't there be guards outside, too? Johnny looked up at a balcony on the third floor and just barely caught a glimpse of a beauty go back into the room. That must be the princess. Johnny flipped out his dagger and stabbed it into the wall above him. He did so with another dagger and used them to scale the wall.

At last, Johnny flipped himself over the ledge and onto the balcony.

Soquira 12-30-2008 11:51 PM

As it seemed that she was incapable of sleep, Selena forced her eyes open and sat up. Looking around the room, she frownedl she thought that she had heard a noise outside. Standing up, she brushed her hair behind her shoulders and walked toward the balcony and stopped.

Somebody was out there and there was no way that the person could have come in through her room. Which meant that the person would have had to have come up somehow. While common sense told her that she ought to call for one of her guards, curiosity managed to get the better of her.

Walking out onto the balcony, she peered at the figure nervously. Still, she forced herself to speak in a calm voice. "May I ask," She began, :who you are? And better yet, what you are doing outside of my bedroom."

Sforzando 12-31-2008 01:55 AM

Johnny began forward toward the princess, his knife in hand, but he stopped a moment. She was quite beautiful. It was a shame he had to kill her. But he was being paid to well to pass this up.

He bowed to the princess. "Well, my dear, I find it is only common courtesy to explain this to you before you die. You see, I am Johnny, and I have been sent to kill you." He bowed again. "And now, my dear, I'm sorry, but I must kill you."

Johnny leapt forward and grabbed the princess, twisting her arm behind her back and covering her mouth with his hand. "Don't scream. Or I'll...Well, since I'm already going to kill you, I guess I'll have to make it more painful if you scream."

Soquira 12-31-2008 02:31 AM

Well he wasn't exactly subtle, that much was certain. And he had been sent to kill her of all people? Not that she was wishing death on anybody she knew, but she hadn't exactly done anything of great importance that would make her a target. As far as she knew the only thing she was truly guilty of was being born royalty.

She took a breath to calm herself, and she forced herself to keep from thinking of the prospect of a painful death. Of the many fears that she had, pain and being alone were at the very top of the list. Sinking her teeth into the flesh of the hand that covered her mouth she pulled herself out of the grasp of her attacker and she found herself backed up against the railing of the balcony. Not the best place in the world.

"Now, lets think about this for a moment." She said quickly, a note of panic was clear in her voice, something that she had been trying to keep hidden. "Would you really want to try to kill me here of all places? My guards are probably about to check my room and make sure I'm all right, it is that time of night afterall, and well, you'd be caught within a moment."

She glanced over the railing nervously before looking back into her room. Maybe she could make it past him and cause enough of a racket to bring in the guards? She considered screaming, but he could still do something before the guards got to her. Making up her mind, she hurried towards the room.

Sforzando 12-31-2008 03:37 AM

Johnny caught her around the waist as she tried to make it past him into the room. "Oh no, you don't," he said, pulling her back to the balcony. He put his hand ot his mouth and sucked on the wound. She had bit him hard, and it hurt. But, he just had to shake the pain away and ignore it. He knew she couldn't get down by herself, and he needed a way of getting both of them down, so Johnny backed away from her, his knife in hand, and into her room.

"You're right about the guards," he growled as he ripped down the thick curtains and began to cut them to strips. "They probably are on their way. That's why I need to get you out of here fast. And if you give me any trouble, I'll make your death just that much worse." When she hadn't screamed, he figured his threat had worked. So, it stood to reason that if he kept threatening her with pain, she would comply.

He tied the ends of the curtain strips together, and then tied one end to the balcony railing. "It won't hold, especially not for long," he said as he tugged at a knot and tossed the end over the edge. "So, don't struggle, because that'll jsut make it come apart, and then we will both plunge three stories to our death."

Johnny grabbed the princess again and threw her over his back. A guard came in to check on the princess. "Hey!" he screamed when he caught sight of Johnny, and rushed to get help. Johnny vaulted over the edge of the balcony and grasped the rope with one hand, holding the princess with the other. "Hold on to me," he said, and let go of her so he could use both hands. He began to climb down.

With about one story left to go, the guard finally arrived with more back up and Johnny and the princess were falling. Johnny landed on his belly with the princess on his back. He groaned in pain for a second and then grabbed the princess's wrist. "You sure have some idiot guards," he moaned. "To think that they are in charge of your safety and they just cut down what had been ensuring your safety for three stories." He shook his head and stood up, dragging the princess with him.

Soquira 12-31-2008 04:23 PM

Selena looked around and grimaced. This certainly was not what she had been expecting when she had said good-night earlier. Hell, she probably would have had a few guards stay in the room with her, if she had known, though another part of her would have wanted to leave her home completely for awhile.

"Seriously, where exactly do you think you're taking me?" She demanded, "If you had any sense at all you'd let me go, and then go do whatever." Of course, her main idea was to keep him talking, after all she was pretty sure if she kept him distracted now she would be able to escape later.

[Writer's block. Ew.]

Sforzando 12-31-2008 07:42 PM

[[It's okay.]]

Johnny laughed. "And why does me letting you go make me ahve any sense? I think it's quite sensible for me to make money so I can live, and you're going to get me that money." He tugged the princess along as he ran towards the edge of the castle grounds. It was certain that the guards would be after them.

By the time they had reached the outer edges of the castle grounds, before they reached the city, the guards were running after them. They were making quite a racket, too. "I made much less noise," Johnny commented.

Soquira 12-31-2008 09:03 PM

"Still enough noise to cause me to hear you." Selena muttered under her breath before she looked around once more. Would it kill those guards to have an ounce of wit once in their lives? Really anyone with sense should have been able to catch up by now. "I swear, I doubt they're really as trained as they claim to be." She muttered before looking at Johnny. "So.......Johnny was it? What exactly do you intend to do now?"

Sforzando 12-31-2008 09:22 PM

Johnny decided to ignore her first comment. She had only meant it for her anyways. He ducked into an alley between to houses, dragging her with him. "Well," he said, not bothering to look behind him. "I intend to take you to my secret lair, of sorts, and then, bide my time until I can kill you and be able to prove to my king that I killed you so I can get my reward money. As of now, if I go to him and say I killed you, all he'll know is that you are missing. So, until you show up dead, I get nothing." They turned down another alley, the guards long since lost. "Princess, if I were you, I would stop asking questions right now, because you are stepping on my nerves, and I don't like it." That was the only notion that Johnny was annoyed. He appeared quite cool and collected running through the back alleys and dirty streets of the city.

Soquira 12-31-2008 09:29 PM

She smiled playfully. Well there was no way in hell she was going to make this easy for him. "Well, technically, I can't really show up anywhere if I'm dead, you realize." Selena then added, "And the last I checked it wasn't exactly illegal to ask questions, whether it irks a person or not. And mind you, I do have to hear about those laws more often than I'd like."

She then added, "And of course there is always the possibility that you could die before me. Wouldn't this all have been for nothing then? Did that thought ever cross your mind when you got your little assignment? And may I ask who it is wants me dead, and for that matter why. As far as I know I've done nothing that deserves any type of consequence."

Sforzando 12-31-2008 09:44 PM

Johnny grunted. "Technicalities. Just because it's not illegal doesn't mean you have the right to do it." He tried ignoring her constant, annoying chatter. But she wouldn't stop.

He spun around to face her, pulling her close. His knife was at her throat. "Don't make me kill you right now." He dragged the knife across her throat until just the tip was touching. Then, he flicked it sharply, making a slight cut in her neck.

"Next time, it will be a whole lot worse." He turned without allowing her time to reply and proceeded draggin her around. He didn't even bother putting his knife away.

Finally, they arrived at a little house in the middle of town. Johnny pushed open the door, only to be greeted by a rather large woman. "Johnny, honey!" she put her arms around him in a tight embrace. Johnny had to struggle out of it to keep his hold on the princess. "And who might this beautiful young gel be?"

"Geroff, ma," Johnny said, and pulled the princess inside, shutting teh door. "No one, ma. We're just here for a moment, and then we'll be gone. I need some stuff." Johnny began rummaging through things, grabbing rope, food, other random things.

Soquira 12-31-2008 09:57 PM

His mother? Well that one certainly came as a surprise. Not that most normal people pictured themselves being kidnapped, but the idea of a kidnapper bringing his or her victim to his or her mother's house was just odd. Of course, it was highly likely that the woman didn't have the slightest idea of what her son was up to, and while she knew she could ruin that fact, she decided to keep her mouth shut.

She watched him grab things and shook her head as she ran finger across the light cut he had inflicted. She would have to get back at him for that later. The only question now was how and it really was that wise of an idea. She grimaced wondering where he would drag her to next.

Selena had never been in town before, and well it certainly had not been what she had been expecting. Definitely nothing compared to the lush lifestyle she was accustomed to. Turning her gaze away from him, she said nothing and waited.

Sforzando 12-31-2008 10:10 PM

"Oh! Dearie, you're hurt," his mother noted. She began fussing over the princess. "Here, let me help you. I'll have it right fixed up in but a moment." And she set about making a poultice.

Johnny's head shot up from what he was looking at. "No, ma. No. She doesn't need it. It's nothing. She's fine. Leave it be." He grabbed up the things he had gathered and pulled the princess out the door. "Love you, ma!" He called as he closed the door.

When they were well away from his mother's house, Johnny stopped to tie the princess's hands together. He held up a dirty cloth. "Don't make me gag you," he warned.

Soquira 12-31-2008 10:20 PM

Looking at her bound hands Selena grimaced. The fact that he was capable of beating her physically had already been proven so there was no real point in tying up her hands. Eyeing the cloth he held up she kept her mouth shut, though she knew there were worse things to worry about, there was no way she would let him shove some dirty rag into her mouth.

"I do have something to ask." That probably wouldn't come as a surprise to him, she had been full of questions so far that night. "Have you ever thought of finding an actual job? I don't mean to sound rude," Though part of her wanted truly did, "But wouldn't it make so much more sense than kidnapping and then planning to assassinate royalty"

Sforzando 12-31-2008 10:37 PM

Johnny sighed. There really was no shutting her up, was there. He turned to her. "You really are brave, aren't you?" He tied the other end of the rope around his waist. It would be easier than trying to hold on to her when he needed his hands for other things. He decided not to gag her this time. He really didn't want to have to gag her.

"Look, princess, I don't want to kill you. But finding a job isn't exactly the best option for me right now." And it never would be. If his poor status and dirty looks didn't do that for him, his record as a thief did. No one would want to hire him. They just as soon arrest him as hire him. Besides, he'd robbed probably almost everyone in the city, with the exception of other thieves.

Soquira 12-31-2008 10:58 PM

Selena said nothing and looked around, not having her hands was really beginning to irritate her and they hadn't even been bound that long. She wasn't exactly sure of how to reply to that statement, part of her was curious as to why, yet the other half wasn't quite sure if she really wanted to know that answer. Until that night she had been quite content with accepting, though not believing everything her tutor told her about the world of the poor. That the royals had nothing to do with the problems or the country and the peasants had dug themselves into their own graves. Though she never could really accept his reasons for the government not doing anything about the problems of the poor, the reason being that though the government had tried, the peasants hadn't accepted the hand that had been offered.

A small sigh escaped her lips and she decided it wouldn't hurt to ask. "Yet another question, can I ask why or would that be too personal?"

Sforzando 12-31-2008 11:15 PM

Johnny rolled his eyes and groaned. "Don't you ever shut up?" He jerked on the rope, pulling her forward. "I happen to like stealing things from the undeserving. Maybe, just maybe, I didn't have a choice. Maybe, I was forced to steal after my father died. Maybe my mother couldn't take care of us. Maybe I was too young to get a job. Maybe it's none of your business." He yanked on the rope again. "And maybe, just maybe, I'll gag you if you ask anymore questions."

Johnny led her around a building. It was another alley, but it was a dead-end. A wood fence stood between the two buildings. Johnny lifted the princess up onto a stack of crates and then climb up himself. He helped her over the top and set her down gently before jumping off himself. He led her into one of teh uildings on the other side. It was dirty, and abandoned. No one had actually lived in it in years. But it served well for the headquarters of his thieving operations.

Johnny led the princess down the hall and into a room. Sitting on couches and chairs scattered around the room were several other thieves just as ragged and filthy looking as Johnny. "Hey, guys," Johnny said. They all looked up for a second and then went back to what they were doing. They knew about his assassination job. The princess was of no concern of theirs.

Soquira 12-31-2008 11:26 PM

Selena did indeed fall silent and as she looked around the building he had led her into, her frown deepened. Oh, what a lovely place to live. She thought sarcastically, but still a part of her did pity them. Though that pity was only tiny part, after all rather than stealing to make a living they could have gone and asked for help from somebody. Even the government, as corrupt as the rumors said, couldn't be that cruel.

Thinking about that fact she looked around once more. It was pretty sad that she couldn't even tell a person anything about how the government actually worked. Her parents had intended for her to stay oblivious to everything until she took the throne, and well that had worked out pretty well. Minus the fact she knew they wanted to keep her oblivious.

"Is this really where we're you're staying?" She asked incredulously after a moment.

Sforzando 12-31-2008 11:42 PM

Johnny grinned. "No princess, of course not." He led her to a side door and pushed it open. "This," he said, spreading out a hand in front of him. "Is where you'll be staying." The room was slightly better than the last, but not by much. It didn't have spider webs hanging frmo the ceiling or rat droppings on the floor, but that was about it. It didn't have windows and only had one door, the one they were in. Johnny tuggeed on the rope, pulling the princess into the room. He pushed her down onto a couch and untied her. "Only the best for our royalty. Enjoy your stay, Princess," he said and turned to leave. "On second thought," he said and turned back. He grabbed the princess and kissed her, holding her head so she couldn't move. After a minute or two, he let go. "I wanted to know what it was like to kiss royalty," he laughed and left the room.

Soquira 12-31-2008 11:49 PM

Selena stared, an incredulous look on her face as she watched him leave the room. Had he really had the nerve to.....kiss her? Taking a deep breath she stood up and looked around the room, this was definitely not what she was used to. Though at the moment that was the least of concerns.

Of course, the room would have no windows. So the option of slipping out that way was gone. "Dammit!" She exclaimed as she her fist came in contact with the wall, not the brightest choice as it appearered her hand suffered more than the wall. Swearing, she held her hand sat down on the couch. Though she was in no mood to sit there, it appeared that there was nothing else she could do just yet.

Sforzando 01-01-2009 12:01 AM

Johnny frowned when he heard a slamming noise. Why do they always have to punch the wall? One day, he was going to have to put up a sign that said it hurt to punch the wall.

He came back with a book and tossed it on the couch across the room. "Here. Oh, and you might not want to punch the wall," he said with a smile. What was he going to do with her? He couldn't just kill her. Especially when he might get more money from her father for returning her than frmo his king for killing her. But then, she did know where his hide out was. He would have to persuade her not to say anything about it. If worse came to worst, he would move his headquarters.

Soquira 01-01-2009 01:10 AM

"I realize that," Selena snapped as she ran a hand through her hair. She wasn't exactly in the mood to talk, unlike earlier that night. "Can I help you?" Standing up, she glanced at the book he had tossed on the couch. Leaning against the wall, she watched him for a moment before taking a breath. "Look, I'm really not in the mood, okay? Can we make this quick, whatever it is you want."

Sforzando 01-01-2009 01:18 AM

Johnny smiled crazily. "No, no. Nothing I need here. I'm just...observing. Please, carry on. Don't let me interupt. I want nothing." He waited a moment for her to say something or do something and then left, locking the door behind him. He sat down on a seat next to the door, a sort of guard.

"Okay, guys, I don't want any of you trying to get in to this room." He wasn't exactly the leader of the thieves, but he was high enough up there, dangerous enough, that they respected his wishes.

Soquira 01-01-2009 01:44 AM

Selena looked at the book he had brought into the room but after a minute or two she lost interest. With a sigh, she laid back down on the couch and closed her eyes. Though she wasn't sure if sleeping here was the best idea, there was no denying that she needed it. She wasn't quite sure of what to call this sleep and part of her thought maybe there was tiny chance that it was a very, very lifelike dream. But then again she would never get that lucky. Even though she told herself it she wouldn't fall asleep it didn't take long for her to drift off.
