I'm annoyed about the journal I'm writing for Art History. i hate this kind of over analysis of art. We even has to write in the location of the art piece as important. how are you? |
I am very well!
I don't think that I would make a very good art critic. I think that most art "analysis" is very pretentious. It all depends on what you as an individual feel when you look at a piece. I like art because it's pretty, or interesting to look at. |
A lot of analysis is like that. More like OVER analysis. Many writers look at what 'experts' say their top selling book 'means' or the 'symbolism' of it, and go - uh, noooo, but if you think so whatever.

yeah, and I feel its worst with art and fiction. people write/draw it because they like it. that line does not have a meaning. that typo or drip of paint wasn't on purpose and doesn't hold some huge meaning!
