This was the costume I wore to the Harry Potter and the Dethly Hallows part 2 midnight showing. It's not the best Hogwarts uniform costume, but I made it myself...in about two hours...which included altering my skirt from an ankle length skirt to a knee length one. Guess which House I am in....

I've actually been around, but I just kind of forgot about these thread until my main hangout got really boring and slow for awhile, then I remembered people actually came to these sometimes, lol.

No, actually it's not green. It is blue and grey. Lol, I keep an eye out here often. It gets very dusty in here. Someone has to clean it.

Well, when HP first came out, Mehi didn't have anything to do with it either. Mehi's reason though was because she was super hardcore christian and refused to read HP on the fact that it was about witchcraft which was evil and demonic. Eventually my mom bought me the first to books as a set and me being the avid reader I am, no matter who evil the book, I couldn't get rid of them. I love books too much. Eventually I read the first one and was hooked instantly. Now I have all the book in hardback (except the second because it went missing, but I do have an original British version of it in paperback) and all the movies except this most recent one because it isn't on dvd yet. My sister gave me HBP on Bluray and has a copy of DH part 1 that she is suppose to give me once she finds it. I have two copies of the OotP dvd and two copies of the DH book. Interesting story on how I got two DH books, but that is a story for another time, unless you want to hear it.

When I was a kid my dad told me never to believe in anything that was fantasy. Of course fantasy would become my one refuge. :yes: But, still, it kept me from reading the Harry Potter stuff out of the fear that he'd punish me severely for doing so.

My mom thought I was stupid for letting a church control me. That is why she bought them for me. To get me away from the brainwashing I was undergoing. It worked. I know think for myself.

Well, I pre-ordered the book, but was due for advanced individual training for the army at the time that it came out. It was going to take two days for the book to be shipped to me. I was super distressed over that two day wait. So the day after the book came out, a friend went out in to town returning several hours later. I was so distressed I didn't leave my biulding. He called me out of my bay into the common area and handed me a bag. I looked in the bag and about fainted. At the bottom of the bag was the book I so desparately wanted. I called my mom imediately to tell her to not send my copy. My friend told me that the book was a gift from him to me. I still cherish it. I read it once while I was in Texas for training and when I got home it went on my bookshelf. If I want to read DH, I read the copy that I originally pre-ordered.
