The last I heard about the reason for it going up is because somewhere was being bombed that had oil. :/

I would love to have a hybrid or even a fully electric car...but there is no where to charge them here...not even at home because we live in an apartment. :/

My car makes under what is supposed to get. :/ There's something wrong with it but I can't afford to get it fixed and my dad won't let me take it anywhere because it ain't worth fixing. :/

GrannyJ 03-20-2012 09:52 PM

Hello everybody!

I believe that the only reason the gas prices are going up is because it is coming into nicer weather, and people are driving more. The gas companies charge more because they feel they can. It has very little to do with anything else.

Our car is supposed to take premium gas, but we just use regular anyway.
You do not have to use premium.

Kat Dakuu 03-20-2012 10:00 PM

I am very glad that I don't drive.

GrannyJ 03-20-2012 10:05 PM

I drive as little as I can.
It has never been something that I enjoyed.

Kat Dakuu 03-20-2012 10:06 PM

I think the world is just safer without me driving...

...crap, i just remembered I made tea thirty minutes ago and forgot about it.

GrannyJ 03-20-2012 10:10 PM

Oh dear.
Well, just put ice cubes in your tea and have iced tea then, Kat!

I am not a very good driver either. That is why I feel it is best if I leave the driving to others.

Kat Dakuu 03-20-2012 10:13 PM

oh, that's a good idea. why didn't I think of that?

I'm surprised they even gave me my license. I barely understand half of the traffic laws.

GrannyJ 03-20-2012 10:14 PM

Perhaps you should brush up on the laws, Kat?

You are in a different state now, but I suppose you are not changing your driving license?

Moi 03-20-2012 10:19 PM

Hi, how are you? Had a good day? :)

Kat Dakuu 03-20-2012 10:21 PM

probably, but I don't even have a car if I wanted to drive.

TerrenaAnimula 03-20-2012 11:28 PM

Yall should ride with me to see how I drive! *evil grin*

You don't need a state license for a state you are only going to school in...same with plates. Only if you actually physically move there do you need to get them. At least for Virginia, if you move here, you have 30 days to get Virginia Plates.

Kat Dakuu 03-20-2012 11:32 PM

I do actually plan to live in the state I go to school in. after i graduate anyway.

TerrenaAnimula 03-20-2012 11:36 PM

Well...once you officially move there, that's when you would need to change it. :D

Kat Dakuu 03-20-2012 11:38 PM

I see.

serena yuy 03-21-2012 04:08 AM

I don't have my license and I'll be 25 in october. ^^" Not my fault. :/

I'm at that point where I'm paranoid to learn to drive now since I've gone so long not knowing :(

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2012 04:11 AM

yeah, I can see how you would be.

GrannyJ 03-21-2012 02:07 PM

Good morning everybody!

Hello Moi! Welcome to the tea house.

You should check the state laws, Kat.
You may be able to get a New Mexico license with just the written test and no driving test. Then you would have your state identification.

That is the way it is in Texas.

Some states require that you take a driving test also.

serena yuy 03-21-2012 03:09 PM

I forget what my state has you do if you're changing your residency. ^^"
Ugh, I hope this a-hole friend of my mom's that has been here since Saturday will go home today. I am sick and tired of him and his crap and I don't want to be here alone with him today when my mom goes to work... The past few days I've been with Mike (boyfriend) because his schedule was awesome this past week. Today he's working though :/

GrannyJ 03-21-2012 06:56 PM

If you do not want to be alone with him, perhaps you could go out shopping?

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2012 09:27 PM

i wouldn't pass a driving test if i had to do it! *laugh*

or go to a park and read a book if the weather is nice, Serena.

serena yuy 03-21-2012 09:29 PM

@Granny: I wish I could, but I have no money and really can't get too far ^^" I'll be fine upstairs in the bedroom I'm in right now. ^^ I have a tv :) and my kitty. Who at the moment found a private spot to bathe in by a window :)

@Kat: I would love to go to the park :D But, it's too far

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2012 09:32 PM

cats make everything better!

aw, there's not really a park within walking distance of me either. and there's such a good one in town with a huge slide, like really huge!

serena yuy 03-21-2012 10:33 PM

Yes they do. I'm happy my kitty is sitting up here with me ^^

Yeah :( I wish I lived near a park. I live near one that is a 20+ min bike ride :/

----------

I also have no clue if my bike tires have air ^^"

TerrenaAnimula 03-22-2012 02:54 AM

There's a park within walking distance from me.
And technically the park near my campus is within walking distance as well since many walk there and back. I wouldn't want to do it because of the hills. :/

Kat Dakuu 03-22-2012 03:35 AM

technically I could walk to the park, but I don't want to. I'll be tired before I get to the park and not want to stay and have fun. but they're building a playground on campus. :D
