Hey sunshine, don't know if you're still on.
Thanks, I'm going to be switching out my adults in a few minutes though. I need to get the 2 eggs in my siggy so they can get views. Is Zero a part of the Dragon Cave site. There's lots of dragons he can get. |
Hello! Oh no, I did this yesterday. I came online just as everybody was leaving.
Well, I will sit and have a cup of tea for awhile just in case somebody comes back. You were all talking about college. We have quite a range of studies here, don't we? Zero, I majored in Computer Science when I went to college. When I started, there was really no such thing. In my Sophomore year they came up with the degree. Most computer people were math majors in those days. We used key punches. My senior project was a box of computer cards. My little laptop is much, much more powerful than the school IBM 360 computer. Then I worked at IBM for well over 30 years. |
Hello guys, what's up? ^_^ |
Hello, iWai. Welcome to the tearoom.
Please come in and have a cup of tea. |
Hello Granny,
Key punches? Box of computer cards? Hello Wai, welcome |
Hello, Cloud dear.
Yes, key punches and computer cards are what we had to use "in the old days", before there were such things as computer terminals. (Actually, I think that the term computer terminals is also outdated. Now they are monitors and keyboards). We had no personal computers in those days. We used the key punches to type (punch) our computer codes onto the computer cards. Then they were loaded into a card reader, which entered the codes into the computer. Only one program could run at a time. When I was a junior, we got a special computer that had HASP (Hierarchical something Sequential Programming), which allowed the computer to work on 2 programs at once. That was quite something then! |
Wow, that seems a lot more difficult.
I definitely like todays computers. |
@SunShine- You cleaned the filters too, right?
Welcome iWafu! My Mom went to computer camp and made a program. She should have done more with it, she enjoys it so much. I'm listening to the Fray. What about you guys? |
Hi fairy, how are you.
Hmm, filters, I must have missed something. I'm stuck listening to my sister's show in the backround DX |
Cloud, I believe that fairy was talking about SunShine's fish tank.
|
I will have a cup of tea, thanks ^_^.
|
Please have a seat. I believe that today we have a nice raspberry green tea.
< hands iWai a cup of tea > I'm not certain if we have any cookies here, though. |
Oh, she did mention a fish tank, didn't she. :)
We don't use a filter on our fish tank and it's still clear. We do have a filter, but the stupid fish would keep swimming right to the tube that sucks up the water and they would get stuck to it from the suction. Maybe the problem is the type of water you are using. We use fresh spring water only in our tank. Also, do you have it near direct sunlight or leave the tank light on all the time? It's the heat from light that makes algea grow easily. The only time I turn on the tank light is when I feed them, and they know it, when it's on they come right to the top. |
Your post reminded me of the movie Finding Nemo.
Didn't they get sucked up into the fish filter? |
Yeah, Nemo did get stuck in the filter.
Then they cant get unstuck so I'd have to turn off the filter. But sometimes they'd be stuck for hours before I'd find them. Those ones swam funny afterwards and died a week or two later, to I think it did a lot of damage to them. That's why we dont use the filter anymore. We have this hand held one, that's basically just a rubber/plastic tube with a large open attachment at one end. You fill the tube with water, stick the large end at the bottom of the tank (that's where all the filth lies) then remove your finger from the bottom to the tube to let the water run out into a bucket. The suction from the prefilled tube keeps the water flowing through it. EDIT: I'll be back in about an hour. I need to mow the lawn before it gets too late. |
All right, dear. We'll see you later!
|
We used to have a fish tank with a filter, but we'd do that when we needed to change the water. I hope your lawn mowing goes well!
Sharkbait, hoohaha! |
Well, so much for mowing the grass. I guess when someone came into our yard over the winter, our plants weren't the only things they cut. The mowers cord is broke so I'm charging the battery for our electric weed wacker. So later I'll go back out and weed wack the areas that I normally would with it, and maybe go after some of that tall crab grass.
Basically I'm back on for about an hour until the battery is charged. So hi again. EDIT: on second thought, I'm going to walk the dogs. They're driving me nuts and a storm's coming (It's still nice out but extremely windy). So I'm going to make them lose some energy before it hits and I can't let them out. So, bye again  :P |
Cloud: the Dragon Cave site?, no i dont think zero knows about it yesterday was his first Day =/
fairy: Yea i did. like with a toothbrush that i use to clean the tank XP Cloud: my rooms pretty dark most of the time the light is on during the night time not day cause they have light during that time. i really just dont get it ugh>.> as for the water it is tap i filter it myself through twice before putting it in the tank. i cant afford the fancy fishy water. |
@sunshine-- leaving the light on all night is a lot of time and can produce enough heat. I dont buy special water either. I use natural spring water from the mountian. No matter how many times you filter tap water, there will still be some chemicals and you'll still need to add that solution (whatever it is).
Dragon Cave is a completely different site, but there is a thread on here for people on the dragon site. Ask Zero if he wants the info. You can get some dragons too. By the way, I'm back AGAIN. |
i sleep for about 5-7 hours a day the most?
and i so put the solution in Xp always also welcome back |
So what are you up to?
Click the link in my signiture that says 'my dragcave scroll'. That will take you to my scroll and you can look at the dragons I have so far. I just joined not too long ago so my scroll is very short comparred to most peoples. |
