FakeSunShine 09-16-2009 03:20 AM

rawr just poping in its been awhile and i am sorry for thaat i hope you all can forgive me

Evening! Have I told y'all that we got a third cat? Our apartment is 450 sq feet, but we needed a kitten to help balance the interactions of grumpy 10-year-old ex-mouser Fenchurch, and 2-year-old Frances (whom the shelter named Kittenzilla when she was first born, and who we suspect is part Bengal, she has so much energy). Little Milo, mellow Milo, is perfect. Fenchurch ignores him, Frances plays with him, and he curls up so beautifully into an orangesicle pillow. Everything is a lot calmer since we got him a week ago -- though that might be the Feliway that I bought. :P

Any other cat-lovers here?

Saiyana2 09-16-2009 04:21 AM

I watch Warehouse 13 and I rather like it. Although I'm not sure I like the new story arc.
I have three cats right now. We have had cats nearly our whole married life.

Kat Dakuu 09-16-2009 04:37 AM

I found a cat on campus named Simba. He likes lunchables and is my new friend!! I miss my two cats back home.

Jezriel 09-16-2009 04:41 AM

Ah, it could be worse. I've been drinking a lot of tea and resting today, go figure. I'm not so much of a zombie right now. Just wish the sinus drip would stop so my throat could heal up.

What with the ongoing Swine Flu threat, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to line up for a shot this year.

scholar 09-16-2009 04:56 AM

@Jezriel: Have you tried allergy medications? They often are really good at stopping sinus drip.

@Kat, Saiyana: Yay cats! Even though our place is really small, and you'd think with three they'd be in opposite corners of the place as much as possible, they tend to congregate where me and the husband are. Especially the two young'uns, who are rarely more than a few feet apart. I've said "awww" more times in the past week than I have in the past few years!

GrannyJ 09-16-2009 09:33 PM

Hello everybody!

Yes, everyone is welcome for tea - even if just in your undies.

I think I will try to get a flu shot this year. I hope they have the right vaccines!

I'm glad you're enjoying your job, Yuen! Since it's going to be in your line of work, it's good that you like it!

I saw one episode of Warehouse 13. I'm afraid they're trying too hard to be like the X-files, and it's not working.

Kat Dakuu 09-16-2009 10:59 PM

hello everybody! just saw a pidgeon divebomb another one and it totally made me jump because they were only a few yards from me.

some people may not think it, but cats are total socialites. they do tend to congregate around people.

Nanenna 09-17-2009 03:14 AM

Ahhhhh! Needles! *hides under a table and quivers*

Kat Dakuu 09-17-2009 03:28 AM

I see I am not alone in hatred/fear of needles....

Nanenna 09-17-2009 03:56 AM

Fear of needles is very common. I wouldn't be surprised if it were a phobia and had a "-phobe" name to go with it.

Usually my nervousness and anxiety makes the time waiting for the shot worse than the actual shot itself. XD

Kat Dakuu 09-17-2009 04:06 AM

yep, same for me. And there is defiantly a phobia name for it. There's a phobia for freakin everything!! Long words, water, yadda yadda....

Saiyana2 09-17-2009 06:35 AM

Well phobias are classified as "an unfounded fear of an object or situation". My dislike of needles is based on experiences, between a childhood operation and then the fact that I have to have blood tests alot. I just plain hate them.

Kat Dakuu 09-17-2009 04:15 PM

hm, I guess I'm sorta like that too. I refuse to participate in blood drives because I can't stand to have my blood taken. I used to have to have that done to me a lot when i was younger and on medication.

Hallow 09-17-2009 04:23 PM

I hate getting blood drawn or donating blood - until the needles in. then I don't care anymore. It's just the anticipation that gets me. I can't stand waiting for that sting.

Weirdly enough my tattoos didn't bug me at all. But that's a different type of needle.

Kat Dakuu 09-17-2009 04:36 PM

I hate everything about gettin my blood drawn, but multiple times the nurse did it wrong and it hurt real bad long after the needle was out. Even though I want tattoos, I'm not willing to do it. The idea just freaks me out.

GrannyJ 09-17-2009 07:00 PM

I suppose I've never really had a problem with needles.
It can be bad if you have a technician who doesn't know what he's doing, but for the most part I hardly feel the needle.

The problem with shots isn't the needle, it's the fact that the vaccine stings as it goes in, and then makes my arm very sore for a couple of days.

Kat Dakuu 09-17-2009 07:16 PM

oh, I nearly fainted after getting a shot once!! That was weird...I didn't want to sit down when I started seeing black spots all over my vision, but the nurse made me. I just felt stupid sitting in the hallway of the doctors office like that.

Nanenna 09-17-2009 08:05 PM

My older brother fainted after getting shots once, I can't believe they let him into the marines! XD
