Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to Mene... I thought everyone here was a lot younger until I stumbled onto Granny. I'm so happy to know that I'm not the only grandmother on Mene... ;-0 I like tea sometimes but mostly I am a coffee drinker. Ah but who could pass up scones, cookies, brownies, and other goodies? I do hope I'm welcome here.....

Shazza 09-23-2009 12:18 PM

Hiya everyone, how are you all? I had a lovely half day at work so it made up for all the stress of yesterday :D
Oh come on in sweety! I think Granny welocmes everyone, yeah I'm one of the older users here too, my three teenage daughters persuaded me to sign up, though luckily no grandchildren yet, I am not wanting any until I am at least fifty.

scholar 09-23-2009 02:29 PM

*wanders in, bleary-eyed* I thought school didn't start until Thursday, and yet here I am with assignments already, and things to do for my professor (check all the links on the course website...), AND I just learned that a major early music ensemble that I've always wanted to work for is having auditions, for tenured spots, in the spring!! So I have to fit 3 hours of practicing a day into my 20-credit courseload.

I'll probably start swinging by just to say hi and how are you and bye, and then read posts the next time I get a chance to log in.

I should really get to work... :headdesk:

Oh, I'm having rooibos tea, flavored with orange, and it's very good. Just the thing to clear up my throat. I think my flu shot yesterday gave me a mini-flu, though the aches and pains might be from the new demands on my body (working out, practicing). But phlegm in my lungs is probably a reaction to the vaccination.

Sorry for babbling. How are you all today? I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow. *dashes*

Shazza 09-23-2009 03:09 PM

Hiya, I'm good thanks for asking, very good infact! I think that my partner is proposing to me tonight!

GrannyJ 09-23-2009 04:24 PM

Hello everybody!

Yes, Shazza, Earl Grey is my favorite tea!
Hello Kat. A ghost? That sounds frightening. I'm glad you're so upbeat about it - I don't know if I could be. I don't think I've ever had a ghostly encounter!

Hello, Zero dear. Yes, it would be nice to have Snapple here for the non-tea drinkers. What is that they say on TV? "The best stuff on earth just got better". Is that true? Like Fairy, I don't think I've ever had Snapple.

Hello, Lynn. Yes, you're quite welcome to come here and chat. There are plenty of nice young folk here to chat with.

Oh Scholar, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, but if you feel that way, then I think that means the vaccine is working. In some people, it seems to actually give them a slight bit of flu (at least that's what it feels like), so then your immune system can build up the antibodies for it!

YuenGuon 09-23-2009 06:04 PM

hey everyonee =)
i'm happy to say that work is getting better.
Sort of.
My trainer said I'm doing fine so that's real good.

How is everyone else?

GrannyJ 09-23-2009 06:11 PM

Hello, Yuen!

I'm happy that things are going well for you at work. If your trainer is pleased, then you must be doing the right things!

I'm so pleased with myself right now. I just got 3144 at Snake, which is the highest score I've ever gotten!

Shazza 09-23-2009 06:59 PM

Hiya! I am so happy just now!
My partner of four years has just proposed to me! The girls are at my mums and soon he will be back with wine and a "suprise" from his brothers house so I am really excited!

Kat Dakuu 09-23-2009 07:45 PM

oh wow Shazza, that is reallly exicting!

I'm wonderful today, but I have to run off to my art class in a few minutes. I hope we aren't drawing plain cubes again....And the ghost didn't open the door to my math class today!! The ghostie almost always opens the door.

GrannyJ 09-23-2009 07:57 PM

Well, congratulations, Shazza! That's wonderful.

Shazza 09-23-2009 09:16 PM

Why thanks! I really can't wait! He has allready set a date too, he won't tell me when though, just in the summer of 2010!
He has been planning this for nearly a whole year, I was speaking to his sister in law and she was helping out!
I can't help but staring at the ring, I think its so pretty! In a simple way.

Kat Dakuu 09-24-2009 12:09 AM

wow, I would die trying to figure out the date. curiousity, excitement. That's great though. Congrats.

fairywaif 09-24-2009 02:16 AM

Congratulations Shazza! I'm so happy for you!

Kat Dakuu 09-24-2009 02:19 AM

Hello Fairy. I like your avatar.

Sky_jean 09-24-2009 06:02 AM

*pads in, falls over, passing out on the floor*

Kat Dakuu 09-24-2009 06:11 AM

um...hello there Sky. *poke* um are you okay....?

Cloudwalker 09-24-2009 12:09 PM

::dumps bucket of water on Sky:: Time to wake up ^_^ It's not good to be passing out on the floor. Have some tea to perk yourself up.

Shazza 09-24-2009 01:57 PM

@Fairy- Thanks so much!

@Kat- Yes the suspense is killing me! I am getting close though, I don't think he will break but I know his brother and his wife know and they are both terrible liars so I have allready got the month out of them!
The weddings going to be in July 2010 :D
