I just want brown ears so they'll match my hair, I think it looks weird to see a catgirl/boy with ears a different color than his/her hair.

well, it depends! But yeah, brown hair and black ears doesn't work. I mean, girls with pink hair have cream, white, or brown ears, not pink ones!!

... What? Why would having pink hair make a difference? Unless you're a calico or a color point cat your ears should match the rest of your "fur."

People and cats alike don't normally have pink fur or hair. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't match. I still think that unless the person is supposed to have some sort of pattern that the hair and ears should match. *Nods*

well, the only place you are likely to see a catperson is in anime and it is normal to have pink hair in that world! I think that the overall color scheme is what is important in the creation of a character and varying the color at least some balenced the picture out!

I can understand color balance, but that's where head accessories and the like come in.

ah, but hair and coat is not the same thing! colors that appear in hair, do no appear in cat fur naturally and vice-versa. They arent' the same content and the genes of two different species are mixed togerther so why shouldn't things get a little mixed up?

well all I know is that the skin color under the fur is the same color so if you shaved a cat with calico markings they would hav calico skin underneath.

It's not true for Saimese cats, their fur changes color depending on the temperature of the fur itself. They're born completely cream and their ears change color first because they're so thin and away from the head so they're the coldest.
Cats have fur colors and markings that don't happen in humans and humans have hair colors that don't happen in cats, same for eye colors. That still doesn't change the fact that unless there's a pattern involved ears should match what little "coat" catgirls/boys have. XB |
but they are two seperate dna Nenna and they don't mix. its taken from two differnt places, not merged to that the color info is the same for each!!
