I don't understand your comment, Nana?

That was what my friend said, Mehi. She said that it was very hard to get enough gold to get a decent outfit.

Mehimaru 03-14-2010 04:24 AM

It's an Alice in Wonderland reference!!!! The Mad Hatter's Tea Party!!

Ichinose Nana 03-14-2010 04:25 AM

In Alice in Wonderland there is a tea party scene and they celebrated their "unbirthdays".

Kings Anointed 03-14-2010 04:26 AM

Oh. I see.

Ichinose Nana 03-14-2010 04:27 AM

Always thought it was a fun idea. I want throw an unbirthday tea party one of these days. (sorry to interrupt)

GrannyJ 03-14-2010 04:28 AM

Oh!

`laughs`
I suppose I had better see the Alice in Wonderland movie, hadn't I?

I have never been a fan of the story, but I am interested in seeing the movie, since Johnny Depp is in it.

Ichinose Nana 03-14-2010 04:29 AM

Looks like it will be an interesting take on the story. I plan to see it too.

GrannyJ 03-14-2010 04:31 AM

Oh, and I wanted to say that you are not interrupting us, Nana.
Please stay and come often.

Make our little tea room be one of your "comfortable" places in Menewsha!

I suspect from your outfit that you are new here?

Drop Bear 03-14-2010 04:32 AM

Yes, im interested to see the Tim Burton take on 'Alice in Wonderland', especially with Johnny Depp in the cast too! It will be an interesting film methinks!

I have seen parts of a film that i swear, is the most morbid and bizarre take on the 'Alice in Wonderland' tale. I think i have a link to it somewhere, ill try and post it up.

Mehimaru 03-14-2010 04:35 AM

The Unbirthday Song isn't in the new movie. Just in the old cartoon version. Very sad, cause I love the song... But the new movie was really good.

GrannyJ 03-14-2010 04:35 AM

The Alice in Wonderland story itself is rather bizarre.

I would think that any film that captures that will be very true to the original story.

Mehimaru 03-14-2010 04:38 AM

The new movie is quite bizarre, but truthfully isn't anything like the original. I thought the Red Queen in the old one was quite nutty but in the new movie she is just plain evil.

Ichinose Nana 03-14-2010 04:39 AM

Granny: yea, I haven't been working towards gold much either, I just get on to chat sometimes.
Assassin: That sounds cool. Tim Burton has such a great style.

I've heard the original story was pretty trippy too (yet haven't bothered to read it ^__^). Someone described it like a grimm bro's tale and I love those. maybe i'll get around to reading it someday.

GrannyJ 03-14-2010 04:40 AM

I never thought of the Red queen as being evil.
That will be something different.

Oh my, I didn't realize it was this late.
I still have a few chores I need to do before going to bed.

I will have to leave you now. I hope to see you tomorrow!

Drop Bear 03-14-2010 04:42 AM

The whole Alice in Wonderland cartoon movie has been said to be like an acid trip. I had an ex actually talk me through the various scenes and what they are, and i was quite amazed at how it all seemed to make sense though, when looked at that way.

Night Granny! Nice finally talking to you, if somewhat fleetingly!

Mehimaru 03-14-2010 04:43 AM

I have read the book a thousand times. I totally love it.
Nite Granny!!

A very merry unbirthday
To me
To who?
To me
Oh, you

A very merry unbirthday
To you
Who, me?
To you
Oh, me

Let's all congratulate us with another cup of tea
A very merry unbirthday to you

Now statistics prove
Prove that you've one birthday
Imagine just one birthday every year
Ah, but there are 364 unbirthdays
Precisely why we're gathered here to cheer

A very merry unbirthday
To me?
To you
A very merry unbirthday
For me?
For you
Now blow the candle out, my dear
And make your wish come true
A very merry unbirthday to you
LOVE IT!!!!

Ichinose Nana 03-14-2010 04:44 AM

Oh? God bless you wit the move and I'm sure you'll be able to catch Alice in Wonderland in theaters. Especially if it has more weeks like it's opening week.

Ichinose Nana 03-14-2010 04:50 AM

hmm... sounds interesting. i'll have to check out the older live action. I hadn't heard of it before

Mehimaru 03-14-2010 04:53 AM

By the way, sailor, I think the year on the one you are talking about is 1985.
