I adopted them for free. Just click on one of them and it will take you to the site.You can choose a pre hatched one. I got mine Yesterday.

Click on train your pet. The baby Mermaid has 10 enrgy points that recharge after a few minutes.Okay I have a blue one you can borrow I also have the wig.

They do but you can help level up it's stats so it can defend itself. So far I have mine maxed out. Also you can have her find shells for coins in the store.:) They have a special OX/Cow Egg for Chinese Lunar New Year.
