Yeah, that's about the only skankyness in school, it's the outside of school, when girls wear skirts that could pass as belts. @[email protected];;
^.^ Mhm. They are. I know all 7 of his children to. lol |
Morning! *tackles Pan and Missy*
I can't stay long; I'm going out soon, but thought I'd stop in first! Funny you should mention Muslims. I happen to be one. xD And open-minded one, too, I hope. =] I'm glad to see there are people who don't judge all of us by the actions of a few. I usually get along with everyone at school- but I still get the occaisional old man walking down the street and calling me names. >_<" |
:] Good morning Thyme! *tackles back*
Are you serious? That's really cool & that's sorta ironic in a good way. 8D -_- Are you kidding me? Can I castrate the old man? blah. I hate people who judge. I luffs you no matter what. *huggles* |
I know...xD
Sometimes I'm curious to see what other people think, so I don't tell everyone right away. Some people tend to judge too quickly. I don't get mad, actually, when people are mean...it just kinda makes me want to prove them wrong even more. I think people get surprised at how much we're like everyone else. Yes, I hate to be judged and I try never to judge as well. Everyone should be met on a case by case basis. I luffs you too- no matter what. *snugs the Missy* |
I completely agree. & I'd do the same. lol
I normally don't judge, & if I do it's not based on religion. UNLESS they are those crazy bible thumpers that come to my house that tell me if I don't convert to christianity that I'm going to hell... yeah... THOSE I can't stand. :] Aw. Sweet. *snugs* |
Lol- those came to our door too!
We just tell them, No thank-you, we're fine. We have a saying in Islam I really like: "There's no compulsion in religion." No one should be forced- it's all by personal choice- what you believe. That's not to say you can't discuss your beliefs with people- I love doing that- everyone has so many varied opinions- but I don't think people should go about saying, "You should do this..." I have to run now...visiting a friend who lives quite a ways away- so gotta hit the road! xD Have fun today- hope I can be back later tonight. ^_^ |
I think I've scared a few of those.. I'm not exactly friendly to them. Not when they keep knocking on my door even after I tell 'em to go away. lol
@[email protected] I love that saying. see, you're actually a lot like me. I think the same way. :] Alright. I hope you have fun too. *hugs* & Be careful. |
I have always wondered how it would be like for Muslim people to live abroad in other countries. It kind of must be hard to get 'halal' food there isn't it?
Oh I've had a lot of those 'bbible thumpers' (O.O? That's really a good way of putting it) come to my house too. In fact, we have some if them in school... But I think I've always just ignored their 'Please come for Christian union meetings' request that they knew never to bother me anymore. ^^" I haven't really indulged myself in religion for awhile. I like to talk about it but I hate conflicts that come out from it >.<" Sometimes, I feel like its very hard to discuss such a sensitive topic... I'm always afraid if I say something wrong... |
@[email protected] Mine are never nice. They start screaming at me to praise the lord & all of that. One time they came to my house on halloween & I was dressed up like I just killed someone. He told me I was going to hell for celebrating the devils day. Ugh.
Well Pancake, you can't say anything wrong religion wise around me, enless you pull a bible thumper move. :yes: |

And well, I am actually Atheist ^^" Though being brought up as a Buddhist but I myself do not believe in God but I do not insult other people's religions. My parents are still refusing to believe that I am Atheist so I am kind of forced into praying still =.=" But its okay, I just do those and act as if they are traditional customs instead. |
It's a beautiful morning- cold and driving raining! xD
@Pan: It is a bit difficult to find halal meat. 'halal' basically refers to the way the meat has to be slaughtered so we can eat it. It has to be done by hand, each animal individually- and the animal must be calm and the name of God pronounced over it, before it is taken out. We can't eat regular meat because it's slaughtered inhumanely-I think they electrocute them? and the animal sometimes doesn't die right away. Of course, this means halal meat can't be produced in bulk, and is more expensive, but I feel it's worth it. Kosher meat is okay for us to eat, too- because the procedures are similar to halal meat. And kosher meat is easier to find here, so... My family doesn't eat meat that often anyway; we all like seafood better. xD @Missy: I like to keep open-minded about religion. I took a history of religions class a semester ago and it was really fascinating- how different and yet similar each religion is. And my teacher said something that really stuck with me: It's possible to study, understand and respect another religion without compromising your own beliefs. And I thought- yeah, why not? why do people have to be afraid of talking about religion or studying it? You don't have to practice a religion to study it, or understand it, or respect its beliefs. I think people are secretly afraid someone will try to convert them or something- but religion should never be forced. Anyways- how was your day yesterday Pan, Missy? I was out all day- went to the beach with friends and the water was icy but we swam anyways. xD |
I didn't know what kosher meat is so I just wiki-ed it to find out ^^ I didn't know they electrocute animals over there! O.o That does sound inhumane... The meat here, all except pork is halal since I live in Malaysia so I really don't know how else they kill animals for meat. They are usually slaughtered after a prayer by slitting its throat.
And my day has been boring yet productive? XD Boring since I haven't been doing much all day except gluing myself to the computer and chatting here and playing my old school Play station RPG but productive because I managed to get a lot of feathers today and have been farming gold really well! I finally made my first 5k on this site! ^-^" But this shows I really have no life XD Well, other than that things in real life have taken quite a down turn, my boyfriend resigned his job :( But it was because they have been mistreating him over there and they do want to let him go anyways. But he's now out of a job and I'm really worried if he's able to get a job soon considering the economy today. *sighs* |

@Thyme; @[email protected] You went to the beach too? That's wicked. I went & hung out with one of my friends at the mall, then the beach. It wasn't all that cold, but the sand was. lol
I agree with what you said to Pancake. :yes: but I don't eat meat anyways. For that reason right there, & the fact that I honestly, just don't like the taste of it. lol My parents used to be worried about me getting my protien though, But I think I eat enough of everything else , plus vitamins to kill someone. Not to mention. I'm a freak for soy nuts. @[email protected];; I'm like a squirrel. But after I found out when I was 9 what animal milk was, I drink soy milk. [I'm almost 18.] My doctor said I'd probably live to be older than 100 if I kept up my lifestyle. xD I thought it was pretty cool. I personally don't mind religions. I do find them to be fascinating. The History channel is probably my best friend. :] |
@Pan:
Yeah- that's how it's done- they slit the animal's throat. Aw, no- he resigned? I hope he can find work again soon. Everyone's trying to hold onto their jobs here- the economy's getting so bad. But it's no good if you're mistreated- so maybe it's better he resigned. Not no life- just extra free time? xD I'm waiting for class to start- I came at 8am and forgot that I don't have class till 9:30am. It's the first day of the new semester- so I'm kind of disoriented. xD @Missy: It's very wintry these days- much too cold for the beach! Lol- we have a couple of vegetarians in my family. I'm not, but I rarely eat red meat- usually chicken or fish. I like it though, so I'll probably never go veg, but I don't like it too often. Yeah- that sounds really healthy- good for you! ^_^ I've tried roasted soy nuts before- I didn't really like them. But soy milk tastes pretty good. I love regular milk better though. xD You're almost 18...? Why do I think you were older...? Have you ever tried almond milk? |
@Thyme; I'm actually doing an editorial article on kosher meat. :yes: I decided to do it on that.
So I might use you as a interviewee. Would that be okay? Yeah I can understand that. Those little things sometimes need to be acquired in taste. lol Oh dear. YOu thought I was older? I'll take that as a compliment. lol but yes I'm not even 18 yet. Not until August 25th. Almond milk was too sweet for me. |

I like the first day of new semesters. Its really exciting when we have new classes, classmates, lecturers and a completely new syllabus. I love the feeling of just joining a class. I hate the time when exams are nearing ^^" |
@Missy:
You are? Yeah, sure- I'll be an interviewee- I don't know how much use I can be, though- just tell me when. ^_^ Hmm..the almond milk I have is unsweetened...xD @Pan: Yeah, that's gotta be tough. It's virtually impossible to find a job here now- those who have them are holding onto them like bulldogs- because they know there's 50 people willing to take their place if they leave. Such is an economy in decline. It's pretty scary- I hope things get better or I won't be able to find a job when I want one. Yeah- the past two days have been crazy- I'm getting so busy now, so if I don't reply or come on much during the week, you'll know why. The classes are fun, but there's A LOT of reading and sometimes homework (and all this in the first week!). |
Quote:
Ah, I'm going to start classes soon too but usually for the first week we don't get much to do since its only lectures and I'm only taking 3 subjects for my last semester. But yeah, concentrating on university work is much more important than collecting feathers ^^" So I do understand why you don't come online much. Don't worry. :) |
We're in a recession over here- and every day the news gets scarier and scarier. Stores closing and goind out of business. Hospitals shutting down or reducing their hours.
And every day my college is swamped with students trying to get into classes- because classes are cheaper at a community college than at university- but there's not enough space It's a miracle I got into 5 classes this semester- I have to hold onto them hard because if I drop there are dozens of people that are just waiting to take my spot. It's crazy- I've never seen it this bad before. o.O Ah, the dream job. I fear that may stay a dream for awhile yet- at least for me, for now. |
@Thyme; :] Who knows. You probably have a week or two, which is even if he decides to do the project now. He might have us do a group project, because of some reason. lol
xD I didn't know it came in sweet & unsweetened. |
Okay,then.
Gosh, I'm afraid of raffles now- don't think I'll ever risk one again unless the stakes are really good. I lost so much gold on this event one; it's not fair. *cries* |
Quote:
University here is normal as ever. Not really crowded or anything since a lot of the locals are subsidized in local colleges and a lot of people here don't continue to their tertiary education and just head straight out to find a job... But in my university, we just automatically get into 4 classes ^^" Its just what you choose to go for and if they are full. Usually we have no problems getting the classes we want. I doubt I'd get my dream job ever! Well, does being the CEO of Nestle sound like a possibility ever? XD Haha... It will probably never happen. Hopefully just being the regional manager will do first :P |
@Thyme; Aw. =/ I did too, so don't feel bad.
I don't like raffles that much either... |
@Pan:
Yeah, well, I don't think I'd be able to find work until 2010 if I started looking now. The government's trying to help the economy by using "stimulus packages", which is just a fancy name for loads of money borrowed from other countries and given to different industries so they can continue production. I don't see how this is all going to work in the long-run, though- now we're in colossal debt. I think our number one creditor is China. Now isn't that ironic! xD Not only is almost everything made in China, but now everything is owed to China as well. China's economy is doing well, I hear- but they're a hard-working country. They deserve their good fortune if any country does, I suppose. You want to be CEO of Nestle?! That's an unusual dream! Why Nestle? That might be a difficult goal- but hey! - If you can make it to regional manager, who knows what else you could accomplish. You have to reach goals in tiny little steps. ^_^ I'd love to be a big-time writer someday, and make the best-seller lists, or get a permanent job with the New Yorker magazine ( a magazine for the elite of the writing world). I may never make it that big, but I hope to write on the side after I get a steady job, who knows where it'll lead? Strange things happen all the time. J.K. Rowling wrote the beginnings of Harry Potter of scraps of newspaper in a coffee shop- and now she's the richest woman in Britain! xD @Missy: Serves me right for putting any faith in my un-luck. I'll think twice about staking my money like that next time. xD Guess I'll have to content myself with making gold the slow way- either that, or open an art shop. I've been meaning to- but I'm so busy I don't know if I'd be able to keep up. |
