Must you know everything?

Think they know everything? My brother is this way. About an hour ago, I was filling out an application [online] and I read a question that goes something like, "Will you be able to furnish a work permit?"

So I went..."Hmmm yep." And this asshole comes outta no where with -> "You don't even know what that means."

Now at first I ignore it until he goes, "They're not gonna hire you because you're just clicking yes for everything."

Now usually, this wouldn't bother me. But he does this all the time and it became annoying a while ago, coming from him.

So GD, don't chu hate people that know every single thing in the whole world?

Tomten 02-04-2009 09:03 PM

sorry I can't hate myself :P

silverkittyempress 02-04-2009 09:18 PM

Yeah I think it's anoying. You shouldn't know everything because then you won't be able to learn new things!

Jennifer 02-04-2009 09:32 PM

It's the end of the world for them when they are proven wrong though and they know it. They start trying to cover things up to make it look like they're still the good person. My stepmother does it all the time. She could start throwing out useless information that isn't even fact. And when she later learns that it's false, she's all, "Oh well...I meant this." or "Well it USED to be this way..." All the while, her body language is reading that she just got busted and she knows it. I don't see why people can't be okay with being proven wrong. But nope, they must ALWAYS be right. ._____.

I totally agree. And it's funny because my brother complains way too much about my mom always "knowing everything", yet he does the same thing.

My Dad's like this.
He's right in every situation.
But surprisingly, it doesn't annoy me that much. :/
It's probably because he's so extreme! xD

For some deranged reason, my father believes any conspiricy theory possible
therefore I had an argument with him about the Holocaust
(he doesn't believe it happened. No joke).
The amazing thing is that he always wins an argument no matter how wrong he may be.
He won that argument, but I thought it was funny and couldn't stop laughing
just because I kept on wondering: "How can you seriously believe this?"

I've had another argument with him about the war in iraq, he believes that the U.S is only in it because they like to kill people.
One of my fave quote from him:
"You know, Gavrilla, some people like hunting dear, some like hunting moose, and others like hunting Taliban."
It made me laugh so hard. I can't believe some of the things he says sometimes!

I've learnt to take absolutely everything he says partly into consideration, no matter how stupid it is.
Honestly, I really enjoy being with him, I learn a lot of ridiculous things. xD

What's GD?
And I'm like that to my sister just to annoy her but I guess I could call myself hypocrytical because I absolutely hate it when other people are like that.

GD = General Discussion.

And I think my brother does it for the same reason, but sometimes I actually think he thinks he knows it all.

Yes, but I have no idea what caused him to believe it!
He thinks it's all a conspiracy, people were killed but not for the same reason, and that far less people were killed than estimated.
He's such a good debater that I couldn't win the argument, mind you, it was very entertaining.

xD
I laughed really hard when I heard him say it,
then I wrote it down in my sketch book so I could quote it someday.
Huzzah! That time has come! ;D

Guivre 02-05-2009 12:46 AM

I just broke up with someone who thought he was superior to everyone in that way, but he knew like nothing. At some point I was just like "NO ONE CARES!" He just totally didn't get it.

@Supreme Commander Gavrila: that has to be a riot. It'll be even funnier when you don't have to live with him.

xD I like watching debates...only when it's not politics though. It's fun to watch the tricks that people could pull out their hats.

But I digress...
I don't know how I would handle yer dad o_o

Jenova4 02-05-2009 12:55 AM

@ Gavrilla- Oh man, my dad is the same way! He's a riot. Sometimes he'll just blurt out random things, but then again, I do the same thing. Maybe it's genetic?

MaryKay 02-05-2009 01:22 AM

Well, yeah, I hate people like that. Mainly because people who think they know everything are extremely annoying to those of us who actually do. LOL.

Mellie_AngelRose 02-05-2009 01:39 AM

Yes I do. It's annoying. I wish people would just let things go. It's so much easier not having to know everything. It makes things flow more. And you get to learn stuff everyday because you don't know everything.

Preach it sista : o

Popcorn Gun 02-05-2009 03:24 AM

Let's flip it a little.
I know some things, because I like to learn.
I never wanted to shove that in anyone's face so I didn't always share, but people knew.
So then, why when I got things wrong, were people always happy about it?
I might've acted that way too if I let that bother me.
Maybe your little know it all has been put in that box so long, it's hard to step out of it.

PLUS who DOESN'T like feeling superior/good at something/better than average or everyone else when it comes to something.
For some kids it's sports, for some kids it's the arts, and for some, it's knowing things.

> w <

Not saying it doesn't get annoying, just saying that it's human nature.

It takes years of practice and one hell of a sense of humour. u__u

He drives my mom and sister crazy,
but it's because they get passionate when debating against dad
and actually want to change his mind.
I just argue with him mainly to pry out more from him, because I think it's funny.
Sometimes it get a bit out of hand (my dad's very racist) ^^;;
therefore when he gets on a rant about a certain nationality which mocks people I care about,
I've just learnt to forget about them and sit back
and find the ridiculous things he's saying funny as hell.
Mind you, the last time he ranted about a nationality I couldn't believe what he was saying
and I was practically rendered speechless.
(Mind you, I still think his points were hilarious) xD

His argument for the reason why he doesn't like african americans is because apparently they're the human equivalent of wolves. ^^;;;
He told me for, I think, an hour about all the things they apparently have in common. I, not being able to give a good argument, just kind of sat there laughing from disbelief at times and couldn't say anything to defend them.
He believes whatever he wants to. ^^;;;
