They slowly went to the edge and ran to the forest. "she must be sick!" Celest declared.

Hazel watched them go off and then howled, "Shadow!!!!!!!"

Shadow came running back with a rabbit in his mouth. He droped it on the ground and looked at her "you called?"

"This human thing is going out of hand." she told him about the cubs going into a human camp and bringing a human to Alex.

Shadow listen and nodded "yes I think your right." he said "maybe it is time to let Alex go and maybe that will calm tihngs down with the human thing."

"Yes. But I think it is you and Alex who are holding on." she sat down and looked at him. "you two have a bond with eachother, and I'm ok with that, but it has gotten out of hand."

Shadow sighed and nodded "yes you are right." he said softly.

She put her tail on his shoulder. "If they decide to live near here, you can visit. But you have to let go of Alex. It is great practice for our cubs."

shadow smiled a little bit "yeah your right and it will be great practice for our cubs." he said as he looked at her

"So go talk to Alex, tell him that we're going to throw him out if he doesn't make up his mind." she said smiling. She went off to hunt.

Shadow smiled and went off to go find Alex. He soon found him and smiled seeing Alex. Shadow was about to say something when Alex said "We need to talk" he said and shadow nodded. "today sarah invited me to stay with her and I think I am going to go to her." Alex said softly. Shadow smiled "and I think that is a great idea, you are growing up and you cant stay with us much longer so this is goodbye" shadow said and licked Alex. Alex laughed and huged shadow "thanks for everything" he said and ran off into the forest.

Celest, Tyson, and Umay ran after him. "Alex, wait!" they cried. "You wouldn't even say good bye to us?" Umay asked with tears in her eyes. Sure, Tyson wanted Alex gone, but he was his friend.

Alex smiled and hugged the all "this isn't a goodbye, I am going to come back once in a while." he said with a smile

"Fine." Celest said, and they ran off too.

Alex watched them go then howled a final goodbye. Then ran towards the human village

"He said the humans didn't like him." Umay said. "I wonder if he will be ok." "I'm sure he will." Celest promised her sister. Tyson nodded, a weight seemed to be lifted off of his shoulders.

Alex soon got to the human village and smiled seeing Sarah there. They entered togeather and where smiling happly

Shadow had went off to find the cubs and smiled when he did. He looked at Tyson and smiled "I think it is time that I take you under my wing." he said happly

"Your a bird?!" Umay said confused. Tyson shrank a little, he remembered when he was little how he nearly fought Shadow.

Shadow laughed a little "no what I mean is that it is time that I show Tyson all my tricks so that when the time comes he can be Alpha." he said with a smile

"What if we wanna be Alpha?" Celest asked. She just put it out there as a question. She didn't really wanna be alpha, she wanted to be the Healer, but she didn't know what Umay thought. Tyson understood and he looked at Shadow.

Shadow smiled at her and licked her head "Alpha is a tought job and not many can handle the job. You have to be brave, strong, and not afraid to do what has to be done. If you want to be Alpha you have to either fight the others for the title or prove that you should be the one who gets to be it." he said as he looked at them

"Oh." Celest and Umay wandered away uninterested. Tyson watched his sisters go. don't leave me!... and they're gone. his tail drooped.

Shadow watched them go then looked at Tyson "now then what do you want to learn first." he asked happly "I have to teach you everything I know so you can pick anything."

To tell the truth, he was a little scared of Shadow. he decided to pick something he could do on his own. "Um......... p-patroling?" he asked. "I could go one way and you the other and we could meet up in the middle."

Shadow nodded "that sounds like a good place to start." he siaid as he looked at him "but wich way do you want to go, you never have been everywhere and there are many dangerouse things out there. To your left you will met some badgers and maybe a few other things, to your right you will met a bear and other things. I would go with you but if you want to go and do it yourself that is what you chose."

"I'll go on the bear side." He knew some of the bear cubs, they would play sometimes when Hazel wasn't looking. "I wanna do it myself!" he headed out along the border.
