Hazel tried to cover the gaping hole, but it just seemed to get bigger. If Shadow plays hero, I swear not only will I kill him, but I will kill myself to! she thought. "Um, personal bubble?" she asked timidly. He was closer than she liked.

The big wolf smiled and backed up a little "Oh I am sorry and The name is Ulf."

Hazel still didn't let her guard down, "I'm, uh, Blossom." she said. She wanted a fake name, just in case they came looking for 'blossom'.

Ulf smiled at her "a beutiful name for a beutiful wolf" he siad in a nice tone "why dont you come and join my pack"

"um, well..." it was her wildest dreams come true!!!!! but she just couldn't leave Shadow, if she did, she could never live with herself! She asked, "May I have some time to think about it?"

Ulf looked at her and nodded "yes you have untill tomorrow to give us your answer" he said then walked off inot the forest and dissappered

Shadow was listening to the whole thing

As soon as they were out of earshot, she stuck her head in the log and cried, "SHADOW GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?!?! I'VE BEEN OFFERED TO BE IN A PACK!!!!!!" she stopped, knowing that he had listened. "Oops, got a little excited. But what should I do?"

Shadow smiled at her "if you want you can join them." he said weakly and started to get to his feet

"I know, but I can't leave you! other wise I'll never live with myself!!" she protested. "Maybe you can come along..."

Shadow shook his head and look down "No I cant." he siad softly then looked at her and his eyes did not have that look in them now. They had a kind and loving look to them "please go and be in there pack. I will be fine on my own and I dont want to hold you back from what you want." he said softly

Hazel was torn. she got out of the log and paced around. what to do what to do... she thought miserably.

Shadow layed down and closed his eyes. He was still tired and knew that Hazel needed to think about what she would do.

join? or not to join? that is the question she asked. she paced around outside, battling with herself. If I go, I would probably be at the bottom of the pile. But you would be able to be surrounded by other wolves! If i leave, then what will become of Shadow? He'll be fine, he can take care of himself!

Shadow had soon fallen asleep with out knowing it. He started to have a dream about him and Hazel, they were having fun. But it soon became a nightmare when Ulf came and took Hazel away from him

Hazel heard Shadow doing something, he was having a night mare. Her mind was made up. I can't leave him! She got in and tried to calm him down.

Shadow woke up and smiled at Hazel. "so did you decide?" he asked still half asleep

"good your awake. You were having a nightmare!" she said, relieved. "Yes I have made my decision. I'm going to stay."

Shadow looked at her a little surprised "but your giveing up your chance of being in a pack."

Hazel thought for a sec. "We can start our own pack!" she decided. "Besides, I don't want to be at the bottom of the pile just because I'm half-blind. Though Ulf doesn't even know that." She shrugged. "He would find out eventually."

Shadow looked at her and nodded "yes he would have found out."

"Is it that obvious?" she asked, trying to hide her eye with her fur.

Shadow shook his head and looked at her kindly "no it isn't,"

"Oh, ok. Good." she lay down. She yawned. "I'm tired. I'm gonna take a nap." she said, laying her head down.

Shadow smiled and sat down to keep look out "okay"

"You can stay in here." she objected. "You need to sleep sometime, and your still hurt. Lay down." she commanded. "Relax, I'll hear it when Ulf comes."
