Celeste perked her ears. She thought she had heard something. "Shay, you stay right there." she said, crouching down.

Shay nodded and crouched behind a bush. He listend intently for what was going on and what was out there.

Celeste peered over the ridge, and her blood ran cold. She saw three humans, each heavily armed, walking toward them. "Shay, Shay, run back to camp, tell them what happened." she backed up into the roots of the tree.

Shay didn't want to leave Celest but she said to. "but you will come back, right." he said as he started to back up. He wanted to make sure that she would be okay.

"Of course, I promise. Now run, tell Tyson and Hazel everything." she nudged him in the right direction and ducked down as the men came through.

Shay nodded and took off back to camp. When he got there he started to tell everyone everything.

The men looked around, searching the ground and letting out little grunts of disapproval. Celeste pondered her chances of scaring them, her white pelt wouldn't conceal her for long. She decided to take a chance and let herself be known. She stepped out and growled, showing her teeth.

When buster heard her shot out of there and went after Celest. They where a pack and they needed to stick togeather.

Tyson and Umay tore after Buster, with Hazel and Raven not far behind. They could hear shooting by the great tree.

Buster soon saw the hunters and tacked the one to the ground.

Umay rushed to her sister, who's fur had blood on it. "Come on, you have to get out of here." "They have guns!" "We can see that, let's go to camp." Tyson made sure none of the three humans escaped the clearing. "If we attack them, they'll come to exterminate us!" Celeste mad one last feeble attempt to get back in the battle but Umay pushed her back.

Buster got off of the one human he had tackled and held take Celest back to camp. Clair helped Tyson make sure that none of the humans followed them.

Hazel stayed by her daughters side, holding her up. "Where did the fire-sticks get you?" she asked as they got into camp. Celeste was panting heavily so Umay sniffed around. "In her shoulder, hopefully I know what I'm doing and I can patch it up." Hazel nodded and Umay led her sister to the den.

Shay ran to celest when she got back and licked her nose. he was happy to see her but was worryed when he saw the blood.

Umay smiled sadly. "Shay, you wait outside, ok. I'm sure Tyson or Buster will tell you what happened." She ushered the little pup outside and started collecting some cobwebs as she had seen Celeste do.

Shay nodded and went outside to Tyson, "what happend?" he asked and hoped that Celest would be okay.

Tyson thought we were hoping you would know! but instead he said, "Well, the men have these things called Fire-sticks and they hurt wolves. One of them got Celeste, and so we scared them off."

Shay nodded then looked back at the cave, "she should have ran with me, then she wouldn't have gotten hurt." he said softy

"She probably thought she couldn't be quiet enough." Raven said to the pup. "She wanted you to get out safely."

Shay looked down at the ground, "but I am not worth gettign hurt over, I am just some pup that you picked up."

"Now that is not true." Tyson said, and Raven nodded. "Celeste wanted you to be safe because she adopted you, she gave you a name, and that means you've been excepted into this pack." Umay padded out and whispered something in Tyson's ear. His eyes widened and he followed her to the cave.

Shay just sat there and Buster licked his head. "dont worry, she will be okay." he said and hoped that those words would be true.

Tyson walked out and talked to Hazel and Raven. Hazel's eyes widened and Raven asked Tyson something. Tyson shrugged and he gave a little sigh of frustration. Tyson walked over to Buster, Clair and Shay and said "Umay is thinking that Celeste's wounds are a tad more... severe."

Shay looked at Tyson and his eyes held all the worry in the world, "is she going to be okay?" he asked softly

Tyson hated himself, he couldn't lie to the little bundle. "Shay, we need you to be a grown wolf, and be brave for Celeste. We are not entirely sure whether or not she will be. But we are hoping!" he said, before the pup could start crying.
