Goodnight ladies! It was really nice meeting you Elmira. I have to take off now myself, my daughter wants me to take her to the ER because her throat is so swollen she can't sleep, eat, talk, or even take her meds. I will talk to you all again later!

Oh wow, thanks everyone for your concern about my daughter. She did end up staying the night in the hospital, and did not come home until late afternoon, but then I had to make a run to town. I've got a really stuffy head myself now and am coming down with a cold, and by the time I logged on last night, I was too tired to concentrate, and basically just updated my shop thread then logged off. It took me forever just to update a tiny portion of my shop thread because of being so tired and not being able to concentrate, lol.
Anyways, they decided to treat my daughter for strep, since her boyfriend has strep, even though her tests kept coming back negative. They think the test results were coming back negative because she had a few days left from an antibiotic she had gotten a while back, and she had decided to take them when she got sick, so they think the antibiotic reversed the strep, but she didn't have enough of the antibiotic to kill the infection. She's home now and doing much much better, though she just looked awful when she got home from the hospital yesterday. Both grandkids are coughing and running fevers now too, and I'm hoping they don't have strep too, though it seems likely that they do. |
I'm glad that she's been seen and treated - strep isn't something to take lightly. I think most people can just shake it off over a few weeks, but most of the time, not so much. Not a lot of fun with kids.
I hope you're getting some rest  |
I really didn't get much rest last night, and didn't get to take a nap today, but I will definitely make sure to get to bed nice and early tonight.
|
I know it's rough on you, particularly when you're taking care of other people.
|
Yeah, but I'll survive, hehe. I always do ;)
|
My had is off to you ~ I don't have the emotional fortitude that you clearly do. Being a caretaker for a friend of family member is one thing... could move mountains for them, but I think I'd be overwhelmed elsewhere.
|
Oh, believe me, I did not have the confidence in myself when I did accept the job in the group home, as I worried I might not be able to handle it, but I also figured, I would not know until I tried.
Do you think, perhaps, I could prompt you to boost my shop thread from page two, please ;) |
Sure! I'll go ahead and do that.
|
I honestly don't think I could be trusted to watch over a person. Though I guess it depends on how compatible the person and I are. I'm extremely easy to irritate, especially if I get tired. And when I'm irritated, my work gets sloppy and my temper gets short.
