Hmm well I'm in my last semester of my senior year so I really have almost no real classes and even my teachers are lazy. xD;; I've just been writing and watching shows/movies and dorking around with my friends. Graduation is soon. \o/

Is it all right to use a Gaia Avatar as reference? I still don't have a proper picture of my character aside from a headshot/bust shot I did. If not, I'll see what I can scrounge up as a reference for you. ^_^

Whatever works best for you. I also don't mind if you show me the headshot and just describe clothing. I don't mind reading.

@ari - Well my school is actually extremely high ranked in my area and for three and a half years I had more work than I could handle on top of 11 hour school days. *dies* I'm just going to art school so I opted to take a whole bunch of art classes rather than a bunch of intense AP courses and the like. My homework consists of writing a novel and doing a bunch of hours of art a night. It just feels like I don't have homework. xD;;

I was actually thinking of opening a shop on Gaia and had been working on a few pieces to have examples of what I'd offer, but hadn't set one up yet for multiple reasons... one being I have NO idea what to charge for my art and have a consistent history of undercharging, to the point of stupidity! Although, I had considered answering just a few requests in the mean time to get my feet wet again, so to speak. =took a year hiatus from Gaia=

I'm still new to Menewsha, though I swear I think I may have SOMEhow signed up back at the beginning and used a random name and simply forgot it... there are a few things that seem SO familiar, yet I can't be certain of anything. Could just be imagining it! lol! I may set up one here, but it'd be a really simple, small shop. Dunno yet.

I'm a steampunk fan in general, though few of my characters make extensive use of the style.

*laughs* No problemo. I'm always admiring other people's art (on dA and beyond) and I'm always trying to find/get/buy art of my boys as seen in my signature. Thus why I asked about the shop. P:

Hmm well I've fallen out of the loop on gaia a lot recently in terms of pricing but I could probably give an estimate if you really wanted one. I think also that lately on gaia the prices vary enormously. o.O It seems like some people decided to charge a ton and people still pay it and other people charge modestly. It's also difficult because the gaia forums are so INTENSEAHHHHRG and they mix the requests in with the shops so you can be as good of an artist as you like, but you might not get business anyway.

Strangely enough... I like steampunk as well and none of my OCs tend to use it much, either! O_O

And, well, I was thinking of saving up and commissioning you for one of your non-chibi arts, but if you're interested, we could do an art trade.

And sure, shoot me an estimate! It'll help give me a starting point to go along with my own rough ideas of what price to go with. Yeah, prices have sky rocketed over the past year.. O_O But I've narrowed it down to the fact that Gaia Gold is easier to get now with so many cash items available. A small investment has the potential to pay out big. Of course, it's just showing how capitalistic with RL monies Gaia has become... =sniffs= Danggit, I miss the old days! I joined in October of '03... those were the good ol' days! lol!

Actually, I'm pretty sure that's the biggest reason I'm liking Menewsha so much so far. That, and the people here tend to be a bit friendlier. :)

I also figured out that you get almost twice as much gold from activities like posting and playing games. I'm not sure when it started, but it happened at some time in the last year or so. Also the exchange and the cash shop... D: It's all so intense and huge that inflation is sky rocketing. There's close to nothing anyone can do, but it's still really insane. ;A;

I love mene a lot more because of what you said. It's a much more comfortable place with nice people and a nice community. gaia is just scary.

Gimme a bit to upload a few of what I've been working on. They're in various stages. I've been working on examples to specifically show exactly what I'm willing to offer, rather than show examples of my talent. Everything else I have uploaded to DA is well over a year old, lol. Feel free to browse. I have several pieces I wanna finish before I officially come back from DA "hiatus." ^_^ I'm actually at this moment finishing up one for my brother.

=slaps head= I totally forgot to mention ZOMG.... especially over easter it was a massive gold haul.... and even without it, it seems to be one of the easiest ways of making gaia gold atm.

Alrighty. P: I'd say your style appears to have changed a lot between now (or whenever you made that headshot in your reference) and the pieces on dA. You could probably get at least 100-150k for a headshot like the one you showed me though. Maybe even more. The demand is pretty wonky these days. It makes me sad that chibis often cost more than non-chibi considering the "easiness factor."

D: Ugh ZOMG. I have no love for that game. The few times I tried it, I felt it wasn't a very well made game considering it's type. The system of movement was pretty clunky. To each their own I guess.

P: I usually shoot for couple pictures but only as long as it's within what the artists feels like doing. I know as well as any artist how little fun it is to do things you don't feel like doing. Those pieces on DA are, at best, a year old... most are two.... and some of the newest pieces are older things anyway. =phailz= Hence why I'm working on wholly new examples. For the most part, though, I still color however the heck I feel like it. ^_~

ZOMG: Personally, I think it's boring. Some aspects of it were cute/pretty, like the Zen Garden area, but for the most part there isn't anything challenging about it. Just click + kill.

As for your OCs, I think I'm going to attempt a couple waist/bust piece. (They're really cute!) They should be together, hehe. Granted, it might take me a bit, but I shy too much away from couple pieces, all the more reason for me to take it on. Yush yush! =nods=

As for mine, I think I'll let you decide. I have way more males than female and too many who've been neglected for too long anyway. Plus, I'd much rather you did one you wanted to do of them than saddle you with one that makes you cringe.

Well for headshots I would say probably around 125k or so. You could give or take a little depending on demand or any comments people give to you on the subject. Looks good though. P:

I got pretty sick of doing gaia avatars back when I was doing more business over there. x.o I feel like a lot of the gaia items, especially older ones, just don't result in very good full character pieces.

Yeah, I mean the art wasn't *gorgeous* and the movement and fight systems weren't above average for that type of online game. It all just seemed kind of average which didn't make me want to play very much.

Sounds good! I love that people enjoy them. x3 Gives me hope for the popularity of the web comic in the future. Sometimes it's good to take on new challenges I find. It's probably commissions that have kept my female-drawing abilities up to standard. orz I don't draw much of them on my own. Just Adele every now and then these days and maybe some filler background women in other things.
