I don't generally consider myself picky than your average person. It's not really my fault when someone I think is interesting but who is a pretty new friend starts liking me as more than a friend. The best I can hope for is understanding, but not happiness, when I have to turn them down.

Something like that. xD I'm excited to live in New York and I'm going for school so I'll be there a large portion of the the year for several years to come. It's essentially my home. :] According to wikipedia there isn't a concrete reason so much as it is a term that just sort of slipped into common usage.

Books are amazing. <3 I own way too many. I support libraries, but unfortunately the ones in my current city really fail at life. Don't worry, I hate running for the sake of running too. I only tolerate it when there's something else to be gained through the process. =/

Helping the less fortunate is great. School books in schools get wasted a lot anyway after only a few years of use.

@justmary - Sounds good. Thanks.

Arikana 07-03-2010 04:10 AM

Mmm.. yeah, it can be tough sometimes. But it's hard when you just can't click with another person. The best you can hope for, in the worse case scenario, is that they won't want to exact anything harmful on yourself. :3

Sounds like fun. New York seems to be quite the popular city in the US, and it's quite close to the country that's much, MUCH cooler up north that is Canada. ;D <3
Where are you going to be studying? And which state is it in? : O

Can I have some of your old fantasy books if you ever don't want them anymore? : O :heart: I'm dying for some more good reads! >w<; <3
Oooh, that sucks when libraries are fail. D:
And yay for another person who hates running as much as I do! : D
*holds out hand to you for a high five* >w<;

Yeah, that's true.. but from the looks of the textbooks that were packed away and ready for sending, they seemed quite old and the new ones have been used for a while, so the old ones are probably ancient by quite a bit... I think. >w> <w< >w>

Elegant Feather Duster 07-03-2010 05:35 AM

Indeed indeed. Just one of the difficulties of life and romance in general. Not every story has a happy ending.

New York is one of the biggest and best known cities in the US. A veritable center of culture and global awesomeness. New York City is in New York state. ;) I was given a scholarship assuming I will be majoring in illustration, but I probably need to jump through a lot of new-student hoops and boring basic courses first. *sigh* Such as it is I suppose. New York is close to Canada and also as close as it gets to England. \o/ Not that being close does me a lot of good, but whoo canada and england.

I have some fantasy books I'm giving away right now, but I'm giving them away because they are crappy ones someone gave to me. =/ Probably not really worth giving you crappy books. I'm too much of a book whore to give away anything else. I could probably dredge up a list of suggestions though.

*highfives* I did not inherit my mother's trait in the running arena. She runs a lot. I'll play things like squash or tennis, but running for the sake of it is too boring and doesn't feel very redeeming so it doesn't make me want to repeat the exercise.

Well I guess as long as students can still read the content. xD

Arikana 07-06-2010 11:31 PM

Not every story may have a happy ending at the moment, but in the end I'm sure they all will have one. :yes:

As cool as New York City may sound, I think I'd prefer to check out Chicago and see just how windy the Windy City can get! ;D
Plus go to a Blackhawks game or two if I'm ever able to get tickets. :drool: <3

Ooooh, illustration sounds like fun! : ) Though the boring basic courses don't really. D: Good luck bearing through them all! : )

Yeah, I probably don't want crappy books. Then again, who does? XD
That'd be nice, what good fantasy books have you read so far? : O And what's the general plot/summary/synopsis for each of 'em? : O

XD Nice! I love to play tennis and squash for fun too! <3
And I really, really, REALLY would love to try out ice hockey! :drool: <3

I'm sure they'll still be able to read them. At most, some just might be missing covers. Or have rebinded covers. :yes: But they'll still be usable. :yes:

'allo! How is everyone today?

Drache-Lehre 07-17-2010 06:05 PM

Ah well I don't ask for fanarts. The only one I do enjoy fanart of is Alucard, from Hellsing. <333 But this is rare. However I did recently finally get my pixal doll of him from Pounded. <3 (been bugging her for years for it) XD!

Other wise, I just stick to my avatars and characters. I need to upload all the ones you've done to see who I am missing and go from there.

Ah the joys of moving. Did that myself a few months ago, still have things in boxes though. xD Hope it goes smooth for ya. ^^

@arikana - Arrrg sorry for not responding forever!

Chicago is a nice city but in the winter is it distinctly unpleasant. Quite cold and plenty windy. Ahhh I don't watch sports. xD But I guess that's a good reason to go to chicago?

Yeah I registered for courses the other day (more like chose when I wanted to take a slew of assigned ones) and it's mostly basic 101 stuff. I'll be glad when I'm not a freshman anymore.

No one wants crappy books except the people who don't realize they are crappy. xD Hmm well the Pendragon series was always good. You might know of it, but it's about a special boy who can travel between worlds and each book is about how he helps a different world. One of my personal favourites however is the Abhorson trilogy by garth nix. The main character switches in one of the books, but overall it's this really cool world and the most commonly mentioned girl/main is one of the abhorsons who can access the 7 levels of the spirit world by ringing these special bells. They also fight evil demon-like things and it's generally very unique. The Wind Up Bird Chronicle by haruki murakami is less fantasy and more magical realism. But it's a realllly interesting book with really strange things that happen. I could go on forever, but there are a few suggestions for now. P:

Ice hockey always looked difficult and painful. D: Although I'm sure amateur league stuff doesn't involve quite so much brutality.

Excellent.

@seito - *noms on* 'allo!

@drache - I don't ever get fanart either. xD

Thanks! We've pretty much gotten everything from the old house to the new by now. It just remains to sort of organize stuff. D8

@avi - Okey dokey. Thanks.

@FeyonaSaibre - Hello there.
