Optimism Speech Help! Please!
First I hope this is the right spot to put this though. And also I would really appreciate your help. Thank you in advance!
Optimism to me is to be positive. It is defined as "A tendency to expect the best possible outcome or dwell on the most hopeful aspects of a situation." Now think of a time you were in a bad situation and you were optimistic. (Pause) Now think of another situation you were in that you were pessimistic. (Pause) Which situation turned out better? (Pause) Being optimistic or pessimistic? (Pause) It's easy to be optimistic when life is going your way, but it's pretty hard to keep an optimistic mind when it isn't. It is even more important to keep an optimistic attitude during the tough times. ((Need a situation to put here, but I don't know what. xD)) " People deal too much with the negative, with what is wrong. Why not try and see positive things, to just touch those things and make them bloom?" This quote by Thich Nhat Hanh is so true. People these days mainly think of all the negative things in life. We need to be positive, change it and watch it turn out for the better. We are living in a scary time with many issues such as school budget cuts and the bad economy. People are losing their jobs, but if they had a positive out look and went to go look for another job or go back to college then things would turn out better than they would if they were being a pessimist and complaining about it. Now with the school budget cuts we won't be having things next year that we have this year. One thing we won't be having are electives. ((Need a perspective what a optimist would say and what a pessimist would say)) So no matter what you do it will always be better if you are an optimist opposed to a pessimist. Now with all I have told you about my knowledge and perspective on optimism I will leave you with this one last quote by Thich Nhat Hanh," Hope is important because it can make the present less difficult to bear. If we believe tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.” This has to be at least 4 minutes long. That right there is about 2-2 1/2 minutes long. Thanks again in advance! Sincerely, Friedrice Um, you can lock or delete this now. I think I found the place to put it! |
