I actually have the new Wraps items on over the black and white argyle socks. They're mulit-items that you get to pick which leg you want the wrap to go on so I used a black leg-wrap on one, and hte white on the other xD

First of the new beginning, alright!
I'm liking that you're using those leg-coolers, which not a lot of people use. You have some lovely dark blues on the upper half of your avatar, and I would love for you to incorporate those to your middle and lower body. It would up the contrast as well, since right now a good chunk of your body begins to vanish into the background. Your background also has a little too much going on. I like the the idea of it, but maybe you don't need quite so many starts to get it across. Remove the little flying stars from the star-catcher item, perhaps? You mght also not need the moon. Change the stockings to a darker blue for starters, since you have gold in that area already. If you want suggestions/comments as you're changing things without a rating necessarily I'll be glad to do that, too. 6/10 |

I would like an opinion and/or rate of my avatar. It was put together fairly quickly, but I have the feeling something's missing.

I think what you need is something to hold your avatar together. It looks like a normal person but at the same time trying to incorporate princess and ad the same time it has these animal elements and although it may not be necessarily about theme these things are a little distracting. If this is about clever layering, you need more layering. If this is about theme, make it about theme. I can sort of see you incorporating all elements, but it needs more items to make that more clear. Are the raven wings needed? Maybe replace them with a black blanket. Skirt instead of pants, perhaps, to give her the princess-y feel. There's a lot of night-time themed avis lately, isn't there..lol

It's not necessarily about theme or layering, a bit of both I guess. As far as there is a theme, it's indeed a princess-ish/sleepy theme. Partially about a character in a story of mine, too.
I also wanted mostly light colors for a change, many of my avatars are mostly dark colored. No, the Raven wings are not necessary. I mostly added them in to balance the black. I guess you are right that a black blanket would fit better - the Val 09 EI, I assume? Which hand would be better, in that case? A skirt... Doubt it would fit the character I'm writing about, but perhaps it would be better for this avatar anyway. Any suggestions for a not too expensive skirt? I think that many of those night-themed avatars were inspired by the Sleepy Time CI. xD Thanks for the help. :) |
Hm..I don't know what the price of a white with gold pattern harem skirt is, but I think it would really help you balance white throughout your legs without needing the slippers, though you might want those for the theme. For the blanket I'd say the hand on your right because it might blend in with your hair. If you put the skirt in it might provide even more layering possibilities as well. I recommend removing the shorts and see what else you can do, too. You might be able to wear a couple of skirts to give it that "need to stay warm at night" look, too.

Wow, it's been raining and my Internet likes acting up, sorry, guys o.e.
@Cora: 1st impression=really cute. The basket isn't too distracting, either, which is nice. Theme-wise, it also goes really well. The only thing really throwing it off for me is the amount of white near the torso (mostly lower). It makes it a little more obvious that there's not a lot of white near your feet, where otherwise it would have looked normal. Maybe toning down the white a little will help you. Also, is there a reason she's not looking very happy? It feels like her face doesn't entirely fit the mood of the avi. 8/10 @Irish: I dont' know that it's complete just yet, I don't get that feeling from it. If you're going for a layered look, I think you need more items on your head. I'd go for getting more purple near your head, as a starter, since you've already managed to get gold and red with the crown. I also recommend some more silver accessories, since it looks like you're going for both gold and silver. I think the scarf is a little too much considering how detailed that top is already. Maybe removing it and breaking things up a little more, because right now your torso looks cluttered and the rest of your avatar looks light/empty in comparison. It's also disrupting your flow in general. As for stockings..Basic Beach stockings look like they would match the shade of gold on the top pretty well, and maybe add tube socks, if they layer, and if it looks good. 6/10 Decent start, I think it's just mainly flow/balance issues. @Lynne: You're using a gown. That makes me happy because hardly any ACer can use them without going crazy. Even though I tend to lean towards the crazy many-item avatars, you pulled it off really well. there's large bits of color balanced by small break-ups with stuff like the Pudao and the accessories. My only nitpick on this one would be that the punk gloves don't have the same feel as everything else, but they do help balance-wise. 9.5/10 |
