Oooh the video was hilarious! the guy is a natural stand up comedian. and it helps explain Queen's Day! :)

I thought my country had a lot of public holidays but it seems that the Dutch have more ^^''

Om nom nom.
*Keeps Ivvy's thread offa second page too*

Ivvy 05-05-2009 04:09 AM

Wow third page. >.> I should not have been away for so long. >.< Seems like I missed some interesting things while I was asleep and busy. >.<

Massage 05-05-2009 04:11 AM

Hey Ivvy.
How are you today?

Ivvy 05-05-2009 04:17 AM

I am okay, just fell asleep earlier when my hubby was playing warcraft and just woke up... had to revive my thread from page three. >.< lol Other than that I have been taking care of real life stuff. >.< Ready to work on my gold quota for the day and some dolls. >.< How have you been today?

Massage 05-05-2009 04:19 AM

That sounds... exciting. Haha. ^^
I've been working on a large -ish bust doll of my current avatar.
I finished her but I don't really like the headpiece. Can't figure out how I would like it though so I left it.
Other than that, I'm good. ^^

Ivvy 05-05-2009 04:23 AM

Ahh yeah head pieces can be a pain to get right.. at least they have been tricky for me.

Massage 05-05-2009 04:25 AM

Blah. Yea.
I think it might have been the bandanna that made it look bad.
I'll have to play with it a bit later.

Ivvy 05-05-2009 04:43 AM

Yeah a big block of color on the head could make it look odd. >.< But I am sure you will find a way to make it work for you. :D

Massage 05-05-2009 04:44 AM

Mhm. I need to shade it like it's material.
That's defiantly something I need to work on.
But thanks. ^^

Ivvy 05-05-2009 04:46 AM

I need to work on my shading as well.. but I know you will get it down, you are already good. :)

Massage 05-05-2009 04:53 AM

Ahh. Thanks. I'm sure you'll get it down soon. ^^
I need more practice though.

Ivvy 05-05-2009 04:57 AM

>.< Yeah I have been practicing as much as I can. I have been having fun with it to tell the truth. :D

Massage 05-05-2009 05:13 AM

Haha. Me too.
Well, until I hit a frustrating part. Then I have to take a break.
Though, that makes it more worth it. ^^

Ivvy 05-05-2009 05:24 AM

Yeah I make myself take a break if I get stuck or frustrated so I don't destroy the parts of it I am happy with. :) I am working on a simple cute one right now just to work on my red and black shading.

Massage 05-05-2009 05:31 AM

Ooohh. I can't wait to see it. ^^

Ivvy 05-05-2009 05:46 AM

>.< Yeah she is a blond with green eyes with a red top and stockings to her knees, with black shoes and skirt. That is what I have so far.. I may add a hair clip and maybe something for her arms since she hase a tank type of sleeve for her top... I am not sure what though. I am happy with how her hair turned out though.

*edit*

Here she is >.< What do you think?
The hearts were a pain to do... but I got them right after a bit. >.<

Hey Ivvy dear :)

News in my thread...

But on your pixel doll, what material are you aiming for on the skirt? You need to work a little more on the depth and shape of your outlines. If you like i can try to do a drawover to explain what i mean in whatever program linux has for editing--i think GIMP. lol.

Ivvy 05-05-2009 09:44 AM

Hey long time no chat with. :) I missed you... And I used GIMP to do it.. I am still getting the hang of the pixle thing.. what you see is what I have done.. so maybe a week at it in all so far.. the skirt is supposed to be a cotton like material so soft and everyday kind of thing. >.< I have gotten a little better since I started, but like I said I just started trying to do it. >.< lol I don't mind a do over.. maybe I can learn from you. Your pixles are always awesome. >.<

Loffel 05-05-2009 09:48 AM

yeah i hate not having a pc, it's been quite a pain..and will continue to be really :(

Best thing i can recommend for you is to look into dithering, it helps a lot...and just hunt down any pixel art tutorials you can :) drawover coming up!

EDIT Okay here's a basic idea of what i mean. when you draw the outline try to imagine more how the clothes contour over the shapes--they're skin tight, but that's still not TIGHT on the skin, as you can see on the skirt. Hope this helps :)

Eagle 05-05-2009 09:57 AM

Hellllooooooo~there.
XD

Loffel 05-05-2009 10:01 AM

two things i wanted to add..the shoes aren't the shape of the feet, they never are. they're easiest to draw as bubbles around your feet with flat bottoms. And notice how the bottom of the skirt is curved upward? thats more of a personal preference thing, but on a doll with legs as long as those it adds to the visual apeal and draws your eye up instead of focusing totally on the legs.
