Gaia's new business idea is to inflate gold so that donating with cash to get items looks more appealing.

They do not want to do anything free any more. They apparently will not be updating the gaia manga as well as not having events.

Does anyone remember, a long time ago, the Flying Giftboxes? I must have been a lucky one, I managed to get a Flying Blue Giftbox once. Not as rare as the pink ones, but more rare than the PinkLinks. Anyone else remember those better times? Things were simpler back then.

oh I'd gotten a few of those over the years... mostly I got those lame furniture boxes...

I remember the time I keep the stat of pink link, blue box, pink box and enchanted treasure chest in my sig. All 4 surpass two digits.

I got a blue box twice, I think. I got a nitemare something from one of them, and some crap from another. Those spring things on a headband. >.>

I used to keep the "luck" of Gift Boxes (Pink Gift Boxes), Enchanted Trunks (Blue Giftboxes), and Pink Links in my sig. Still tried after the conversions of them into various other formats but I rather gave up and was like "meh". I got tired of watching Gaia sell out more and more, keep thinking it couldn't get any worse and then they would surprise me.

They did have some good things going, though. I mean, the "random events" were pretty fun. I think there was also similar on neopets and other older community sites.

The only things I really cared for on Gaia were Towns and the Puzzle Game.
Nowadays I only use towns if my friend wants to hang out cause she doesn't want to come to mene.

I guess they're somehow trying to get oldbies to come back; I got a visit from the Welcoming Fairy, and she gave me 10000 gold.

I'm ambivalent about Gaia these days, as I only go one for a guild or two, but hey -- free gold.

Now the site is all glitched for some unfortunate people like me. I can't see ANYONE's avatars, not even my own.

I was actually enjoying Gaia last month -- the new animal bases were fun and the chat was better than it had been for a long time. Then they put in their newest money generator -- the hurricane one, and it all went to Hell. I'll just have to forget about it for another six months. Glad I didn't spend any real world money this time.
