No. When you use the key, you get your trunk out of your tank and into your inventory. Then you can open or sell the trunk. It's just a feature to get you to spend gaia cash.

The only half-decent forums I've been able to find was the Q&A...less idiots there, though trolls and spammers still sometimes frequent them. The rest are even worse, I don't even go to the Chatterbox anymore unless I'm in the middle of bumping my dragon eggs in threads.

It's random when the trunk pops up. It does it fairly often, though. Just check back every now and then.

I don't like a lot of the things that they do now, but they do allow for open criticism of them, which is good. The debate forums are a lot of fun, and if you know where to look, you can find some nice people. |
How about Gaia's panda slippers and our Panda slippers jelly? I mean this site came out with them in oct 07. Gaia released some into circ sometime after I joined. cause I remember joining this site for the panda slippers >,>; <3
Kris We allow open criticism as well. Gaia works in its own magic way but nothing there comes without consequences sadly. It is a poorly ran site now which has its basis set upon making as much money as possible to pay for their million dollar projects they ran for 4 years. The issue I have with gaia is their false justifications for things which really isn't their call when they fail at keeping the userbase safe. Gaia and its staff members could care less about the general population of the site. people on there aim for staff for the soul purpose to abuse it now. The fair staff members are greatly outnumbered by the corrupt. I got a warning for speaking that opinion on there a year ago. I have yet to see anyone get an infraction for that on here. |

yeah, two warnings in 5 years of activeness. =/ It was pretty pathetic to be honest. They are getting worse and worse as far as standards go.

I wouldn't point fingers about stuff like panda slippers, Bartuc, because those kind of items are pretty generic, and it's kind of hard to make them look different to what people have elsewhere, and I'm sure that Gaia's users have been clamouring for panda slippers for ever, too.
I think the staff has always been the issue over there; lack of communication, unfair bannings, etc. All that's always gone on. A lot of it being because they've always been under-staffed probably, and that some of the people they pick are not exactly stellar material. So how can they expect the forums to not turn into the bear pits that they have? |
I will admit, I was kinda happy to see the sponsorship offers that give you Cash, but once I read about all the malware I was like "Really Gaia? You couldn't even screen your sponsors?"

well i go on gaia a lot still, and i just ignore all the "we want your money" stuff and talk to the friends i made on there. it's not like members are held at gun point to buy anything... well, not that i know of. ;D
@Bartuc: it's sad that you couldn't voice your opinion, but at least you werent automatically banned for it. that woulda been messed up! XD i heard that staff on other avi sites are even worse and power-hungry than gaia. it might be just talk, but perfection is impossible. *shrugs* |
Most of the RIGs have been about four days apart lately.... I'd rather have them for longer periods of time but with less distance between them than for a shorter period of time with more distance between them. *shrug* (Like the Bag of Win, which was only available for a day. D: That was fun.)

I have heard that too. I have tried to steer away from some of the other avatar sites because alot of their staff had been staff on other sites or I knew them from other sites and know how they use to operate. That is all just personal opinion though. Don't let my opinion keep you from enjoying some other sites too. |
