Sure, you get money a looooooot quicker on Gaia, but it's worth less. When they have to make a gold shop and sell things for millions of gold, you know their economy is shot. =P

The only real way to make money is to sell art on Gaia...because if you have a rare item that you want to sell; no one has enough to pay for what it is worth.

basically, unless you know how to really sell stuff to stupid people. Gaia...is full of them too..

The problem that I see with Gaia is not so much that they want to make money but the ways in which they do so. They rely so much on the cash shop and the gold shops hardly ever get really awesome updates anymore. Not to mention things like the aquarium and the cash only powerups.

And whenever people complain about how much cash has taken over Gaia, we're constantly told that Gaia takes 1.5 mill (or however much it is) to run per month and that Gaia's in the red.

It's just that it's such a negative environment over there. It's like you're not allowed to complain about anything they do, even if you offer constructive criticism. The staff doesn't ever really interact with the users and it's just not pleasant being over there, IMHO.

I agree. I seem to be spending less and less time on Gaia nowadays. I dislike going into certain forums to post in threads because I always get flamed by the regulars sinceI have a different opinion than them sometimes.

I still go on every once in awhile, just because I like dressing up my avvi, but almost every single forum I used to frequent (GCD, SF) is now full of people who jump down your throat for daring to criticize anything, even if you may offer some reasonable suggestions.

IDK, I just like the atmosphere in general here (not to mention lovely clothes! *is a bit of a clothes whore* )

I lurk mostly in the GCD. Too much flaming going on this weekend though.

I've played on Gaia almost since it started and recently within the last 2 years or so they just keep changing so many thing. Don't get me wrong some of the changes are nice like the recent inventory changes they are making but others like the Cash Shop really bug me. I understand the need to generate money for the site but making items that are only available through this Gaia cash just seems wrong. I don't mind that they can buy the same Items in the store for the cash its a way for people who aren't on all the time to still get items but to make stores in which you can only use real world generated money is irksome.

I've been on Gaia for three years now, but despite the fact I always bitch about it, I still log on pretty often xD
I'm questing SOOO many items on there, I've kinda given up at this point and just get gold via aquariums and whatnot in random, feverish bouts of gold-earning. And then I lose inspiration/drive and quit xD

That's my current avi! I change it pretty often, too. I remember a time when I used to be content with a single outfit and save gold... and then I got tired of staring at the same thing and I started spending like craaazy.

The Cash shop is really driving me insane, though x.x; And these boxes and whatnot. It's getting harder and harder to keep from falling behind. It'd be nice if some of these awesome items could go to GOLD shops, so we don't have to fight the market prices T-T

I get on there once and a while to see if there is something new, I can imagine what the Halloween event is going to be this year people are going to complain about the event items to their avi looks bad and should have never been made.
Oh now they are a bit ticked off that they didn't tell them there was a sister site, from China.

I don't spend much time on gaia anymore. I'm a 2004 user and my friends are pretty much inactive or gone. D: I still like to see their monthly items and weekly evolving items, but I rarely ever buy any of them. I'm there for events sometimes.

I have four accounts on gaia. Two of them are from march of 2004 and another one was created in July. I am on and off that site just depending on whats going on. I will say I was a letter holder and do have a collect of letters on there i should most likely sell one of these days.

i kind of just wish it was back to the trick or treat thing only.... but hey

I spend a good amount of time on Gaia, though I recently did come back from a bit of a break. There are friends there that I miss when I'm gone too long.

I hope it's a good one. What with all the buildup that they have been doing....
The SF and GCD would not be a good place to be if it doesn't -_-;;

The GCD seems to be the most literate area in the forums . I hung out in few different forums before I settled there.
