Victoria nodded, whispering back. "Yeah, his name's King. He was sent here to 'save people'... but I'm guessing that means he was sent to die as well. He's not dangerous, he seems nice."
"Oh," Izelle sighed. She relaxed slightly against the wall but didn't sheath her sword. "As long as he seems safe I guess I shouldn't attack him, should I?"
Victoria let herself smile. "No, you shouldn't attack him... He's safe. Where have you been all this time anyways?" She thought for a moment. Nicholas, Vincent, and I were playing catch... then Nicholas left. I don't remember where she went off to..
Colonel King was an odd man, he seemed quite normal and out of place, but Nicolas shook it off as he left. Victoria also headed upstairs. Vincent was asleep at the table, he was such a fun-loving person, despite how his race was such a hateful people. Nicolas, happy that he had a good group of company. "Alia, please, for now make yourself at home. Here is food if you want, and the second level has rooms. If you wish, I'll show you out tomorrow." he said to the young looking girl.
Nicolas then headed to a staircase that lead directionally to his floor. He was tired, walking in the garden looking for Alia had taken a long while. The dark of his floor was welcoming and he walked to the balcony. He stared up to the moon that was always there, it was a full moon right now. It was interesting to watch as the moon's shape changed depending on the outside world. A perk Nicolas thought would not happen when he made the cathedral into a place of night. |
King was dreaming of his times during war. He woke with a loud, low scream. "Ah, it was just a bad dream." He sat on the edge of his bed rubbing his head. "I might stay here a while." He was wandering his room looking for anything he could see.
Alia smiled, "Hi." She responded, not completely sure why there were so many people here. "Alia, please make yourself at home. Here is food if you want, and the second level has rooms. If you wish, I'll show you out tomorrow." Nicholas said, looking quite tired himself. Alia frowned. "all my friends are going to think i've died!" She protested, though thinking that maybe it would serve her friends right to worry that she'd died for a night. "Fine. I'll stay here tonight, but tomorrow, you will show me the way out." She said, releasing her powers on him. It didn't seem to work, and she was now pretty sure that Nicholas was not human, if he was, her persuading would have worked. She cursed and left the table, heading up the starirs. Alia didn't sleep, but it was important that no one found out that she was a leprachaun. It had happened in the past and all those who found out usually tried to get the pot of gold. And they told others, which was bad, very bad.
Izelle almost smiled at the memory of her stupidity. "I've been lost in this place since I left the dining room table. Stupid mazes! What's with that Nicholas guy, trying to get me trapped?" She sighed. "Ah, well. It was own fault to have wandered off like that."
Victoria smiled, remembering herself getting lost. "I was lost earlier, too... I somehow found my way back to the dining room, though. And Nicholas is rather... mysterious. Can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing." She peeked into the room when she heard a scream, then giggled. "I guess someone had a nightmare."
"Yeah. I guess soldiers aren't as fearless as they act, huh?" Izelle rolled over her comment on Nicholas in her mind. "Nicholas seems used to being alone but he still seems lonely. Must come from living eternally in a so called haunted cathedral full of mazes."
Victoria smiled at her comment on soldiers. "No one's as fearless as they act." Thinking of Nicholas being cooped up in this cathedral for eternity darkened her mood. "Well, living for eternity at all, even though I'm probably not as old as he is, is pretty lonely. Living alone in this cathedral...He must be a pretty lonely guy..." Her gaze went downward in thought. Speaking of eternity, where am i going to go after this? I mean it's very nice here, but... I don't think Nicholas wants company for the rest of eternity.
Nicolas sighed, looking up into the starry sky. He was now contemplating how long each guest might be able to stay, given what he had learned about them. "Vincent might be able to stay for a good time, and he seems happy to do so. Alia is hellbent on leaving. No comfort there..." he sighed again. "Then there is my unnamed guest. No idea about her. Theres King, but he is human, he wouldn't be able to stay for long. Unless he wanted to stay for a long time." Nicolas turned back to the darkness that was his floor. "But Victoria..." he paused, thinking of the impossible. "Victoria is a vampire. She can live forever if no one kills her. If she wanted, she could stay, she could maybe..." Nicolas cut himself off there. No. He would not think of such things. He did not want to push something like that on someone else. For, even if Victoria stayed, she could die, and that just might be enough for Nicolas to keep himself distant from her. But still, it was a thought...
King found a black button up shirt. He put it on unbuttoned. He walked down to the dining room. When he got there he sat and waited for someone to appear there.
I guess it's not so bad here. Maybe I'll think about staying for a little, or forever. |
Victoria sighed, still pondering that earlier thought. Forgetting about how complicated the hallways were, she had an overwhelming urge to see more of the cathedral. "I'm gonna go exploring... See ya later?" She walked down the hallway, not bothering to turn her gaze up to pay attention to where exactly she was going. Soon she found herself climbing a staircase, not caring to count how many stories she had come up.
King saw tree when he looked out the window. Why is there a tree there? He went to the tree, pulled out his dagger and started to throw it at the tree. He carved in a target, the trees north facing side was slaughtered by the dagger. He continued to do this, relieving his anger. Why did Young do this? I was his BEST soldier! He threw the dagger once more harder then the rest, the blade curved less than 1 degree and it ricocheted off the tree and at his stomach. The blade stabbed at his stomach but made a metal on metal clashing noise.

Nicolas knew that it had been a while since anyone had eaten. Or at least, it had been a while since he himself had eaten, and he had been there when everybody ate, so using a small amount of magic, he replenished all the dining rooms with food. It was not an elaborate banquette like it was before, but simple foods were set out by the invisible and non-existent cooks.
He then began to wander about his floor. Most of his guests were now in rooms they thought suitable, so he really had nothing to do but sit and wait for them to wake. Nicolas rarely slept anymore. He only slipped into that peace when he was exhausted, which only happened when he used too much magic. Nicolas found himself lounging on one of the love seats in his many little lounging areas. All of his book he had already read hundreds of times before, he probably knew every word by heart, so he did not bother to pick up the large tome that sat on the small table in front of him. "I might as well daydream and let myself go into a daze..." Nicolas mumbled, letting his mind wander. |
King saw Nicolas sitting in the room a few hundred feet away. He walked down there fixing his shirt. King arrived at the doorway. "Do you have a sewing kit? I ripped my shirt." He gestured toward the tear in his undershirt. "Oh and I found this black button up in the closet in my room, I hope you don't mind I wear it."
Victoria had walked around this floor quite a bit now, when she walked into something that gave her quite the reality check. It was a wall entirely made of glass, a huge window. She looked outside, seeing how high up she was. "Oh crap.." She turned around, looking around the rather large room. It was spacious, but had a dark atmosphere. "Anybody here?" she called out, helplessly. "Great. I'm lost."
Nicolas looked up, unsure of where he was for a moment. Someone had asked him something. He shook his head, trying to clear his mind. What had he dazed himself into? Whatever it was, it was nice. "Oh," Nicolas said, King's question finally registering in his brain. "A sewing kit, there are none here. Just tell the wardrobe in your room, or any room for that matter, that you want another shirt. Then place your damaged one in the wardrobe and it'll fix it in a few hours." he said, still in a slight daze. That showed clearly in his voice as each word came out slowly. "But remember which room you put your shirt in. Many of the rooms look the same, and it ti's easy to get lost in the identical hallways." Nicolas said, standing and stretching. "Though nothing on this floor will help you." he said.
As King left, Nicolas heard Victoria call out. "Anybody there?" she asked into the darkness. Nicolas had heard her voice come from the balcony and headed in that direction. |
Victoria signed in frustration, settling for sitting on a comfy looking chair rather than wondering around. This really is a beautiful floor.. Wonder what it is.. She looked around the room from where she was sitting, seeing no one. She let herself relax a bit, no need to get worked up, being lost is stressful enough. "Even if I am lost, I've lived a full human life already.. And I was sent here to die." She frowned, half because she was right, half because she felt lonely in that large room. Her thoughts from earlier flooded back to her head. "Here... forever? Heh, I'd bug Nicholas to death."
King went to his room, opened the wardrobe and requested a new under shirt. This shirt was a tight fitting wine red T-Shirt. It displayed his muscles. He put it on under his black button up. He took the stairs to floor eight. When he got there he stood on the stairs and reached out to grab a single golden coin. This will be my lucky coin. He wanted something to be personal, he has been cut off from his friends, and his family. He has began to feel lonely. I'm going to eat! He headed downstairs and went into the dining room. He grabbed some steak and ate it with the fork and knife found next to a plate.
".....Nicolas to death." Nicolas heard Victoria mumble, hidden by a couch just a little ways away. Nicolas approached silently. "I can't die, you know." he said, now right behind the couch, looking down at Victoria. He was still slightly in a daze. It was strange. Being here, looking at Victoira, he remembered this. But from where? Did he make himself see soemthing like this in his previous daze? NO he could have not. Nicolas had banned all such thought from his mind. But Victoira was different. She was sent here. Unlike all the other vampires who had come. They came on their own will and knowledge. They had wanted to die.
"I'm rather bored" King went to the same tree he threw daggers at and noticed the stabbed side was rather soft. He started punching it. He got a stance and jabbed away. At the first sight of blood he stopped. He started to do push-ups until he got tired. Then he started doing pull-ups. It was three hours before he was done working out. He was rather tired so he walked to his room and lied down.
Startled, Victoria quickly stood, turning to face Nicholas. "I meant it figuratively... Not literally." Victoria blushed embarrassedly, then she smiled grimly, almost wishing she could die, literally. She supposed she could, but it might be a nasty process. Something she would have to ask someone to do for her.. Looking at Nicholas , standing there, for some odd reason reminded her of a cops show. She had only seen a few, but she knew enough. If he had a code name, for say, a crime. Handsome stranger would fit him perfectly. She almost laughed at herself, referring to a cop show. "Handsome Stranger.." she whispered, trying out how it sounded.
Nicolas chuckled as Victoria explained what she had meant to him. She relaxed after a moment, seemingly lost in her own thoughts. She mumbled something Nicolas could not hear. "Hm?" he asked, his head cocked to one side. While waiting for Victoria to answer, Nicolas has seated himself on a couch just across form Victoria.
((Got to go. I'll be back in about thirty minutes or so.)) |
Victoria sat back down on the chair, looking at Nicholas. "Hands-" Realizing what she was saying she blushed again. "Uhh, nothing." Why was she thinking like that? Of course, she found him handsome, but she would rather die than say it aloud at the moment. Pushing that thought back, she went back to admiring the room they were in. "So.. What is this room?"
