Medaline

Character Concept: [email protected] Weapons Concept: Sinspiration Color: Sinspiration A character I use in RP (Under the name Medaline Lectix), the concept is not originally mine and has no name that I'm aware of (original file was called 'crazygirlrough.jpg'), but I don't think I ever saw a colored version of her. I got permission to play the character from [email protected] and, out of spontaneity, I colored her to the way I imagined it, I also sent Shonen a copy of it so he knew what I'd done. It's probably my best artwork to date and I'm very proud of her, myself, not to mention a good few of my friends liked her also, unfortunately she frequently gets looked on as a guy because of her tomboy personality and her muscle structure. Yes I could get her to look more girlish, but I'm still improving as an artist, I think this is a far cry from how poor my art used to be. As a further note, yes, the color theme is based off Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear for those who have the knowledge of it. |
you say its just the colour theme of sol from guilty gear, but she looks exactly like him!
|
Well that would be because the character concept was based off him also (at least to the best of my knowledge. [email protected] has drawn a lot of GG art as far as I saw anyway, including Baiken, Chipp and I believe Anji also) xP luckily for me that wasn't my idea, but since I liked Sol so much (and she immediately reminded me of him) I used his colors to fit the bill.
Do you have anything less obvious to observe maybe? ^^ No offense but that was about as plain as daylight... (Unless the person looking at the daylight is actually blind in which case daylight would be a miracle. But I highly doubt you are blind unless you can sense colors by touching your screen with your fingers?) |
awesome!keep up the good work your doing a great job!
|
Why thank you ^^
|
your very welcome n_n i am also a person who draws i have a DA but im not too
good.i messed up on my most amazing art piece i did so i screwed that art sketch up good T_T i hope to see more of your art around here :) |
Hmm... Maybe maybe... I do have another recently finished piece but i dunno if it would be worth the show

The position of his head is impossible unless his neck is broken. You would only see a profile view at most with his back turned and the angle of his shoulders.
|
I guess reading isn't mandatory for critics ^^ oh well...
Edit: Additionally. Take the same stance yourself and note that the left arm is closer. Then turn your head. If you cant turn your own head that far then you probably aren't as flexible. Because I can. Game, set, match ^^ |
The pose looks relatively clear to me, but I think that what would make it better is if you shaded so that the viewer could more easily tell that the character's right arm and leg are further away. That way, the pose would be clearer and it wouldn't look like the head is turned at an almost impossible angle.
It's actually a pretty hard turn. I tired it myself and can do it, but I can't say I don't have to work for it. I think another problem is that the hands and arms look the same size. If one is closer, than it should look bitter, and the other one smaller. The positioning seems a bit awkward, as well. |
See? Now there's some much more reasonable critiquing xD Thanks Platinum, I'll try to keep it in mind for next time, if all else fails I can always return here and re-read what you told me, try to take it into account.
I'm still young and I have plenty of time to improve yet >3 art will always be one of my favorite hobbies, no matter how far behind everyone else I may be. :3 |

It's not about flexibility, it's about knowing your anatomy, and how the body works. You obviously didn't used a reference for the pose, or even think about how the pose would read to the viewer. Yes, you can draw extreme and "impossible" posses, as long as it';s believable. But in this case, it just looks like your character is an owl. next time, take the pose and feel it out., maybe do a few thumbs. Go to artists reference sites and find some models in action poses. Learn the kinetic anatomy of the body, and how to not freak out your viewer. If you are offended that I am not sprucing up my critique, and getting straight to the point than shame on you. Lets cut the crap and get tp business. I'm not going to waist your time with "that's cute" and "You're a great artist....but" Because it's uneeded. This is how your art reads, and there's no excuse for having your characters head turn 90 degrees based on the lack of twist and position of the feet and arm. It is not game. set. mathc. COme back and say that after ten more years of drawings. |
