Mona laughed. It was a full and hearty sound that produced large, erratic clouds that smelled like lemonade. "You're great, man," she chuckled, touching a tan foot back to the ground as her wings were sucked into her back once more. "Were you like someone's bitch early on in your life? That last statement was just odd, I gotta tell ya."

"Haven't you ever heard of obsessive compulsive disorder?" he asked, working his way backwards from the corner, the toes of his boots never touching the floor, though coming close to it. "I feel a drive to make everything around me as clean as it can possibly be. That doesn't mean I randomly snap and start cleaning at someone's house, but if an invitation arises, I'll clean until I'm satisfied."

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 12:57 AM

"Sure, I've heard of it," Mona said a bit loudly, the grin cracked over her face while she sucked on her cigarette. "Doesn't mean I've got the right to label people with it. Personally, I'd like to thank you for doing what I absolutely loathe to do."

She walked behind the bar and pulled a dark bottle out of the minifridge she kept underneath it. She popped open the lid with a loud hiss and the subtle sent of sweet, fermented yeast perfumed the air. Mona smiled. "Hey, you like ale, Zaitsu? 'Cuz I got some brand new Russian Imperial Stout over here that looks like it should be good." She glanced back towards him and raised her eyebrows.

"Maybe I'll try it later," he said, glancing towards an insect scurrying over the floor a few yards away. The pest burst into flames, and he resumed cleaning the floor, his eyes behind a pair of thick black-framed glasses.

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 01:10 AM

Mona shrugged.
"Suit yourself," she said, smirking at the now barbecued insect on her floor. She put the bottle's mouth to her lips and tilted her head, letting the rich, sweet liquid flow down into her throat. When she was done, she gave a satisfying smack of her lips and then set the bottle down on the black marble bar top. "That is good beer...."

After finishing the floors, Zaitsu took the bucket into the kitchen and emptied it out, washed his hands, then returned to the bar and sat down on a stood on the business side of the counter. "You sure you don't mind my being here?" he asked her, watching her from the corner of his eyes.

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 01:19 AM

"Why would I?" Mona asked back, tilting her head and odd way so she could look at him better. She took another drag off the Djarum she was holding and then smiled at him. "It's a lot better than just sitting here by myself."

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 01:27 AM

"I don't know... Maybe because I'm an absolute stranger and you have no idea whether I'm trash or not. How do you know I won't soil this place? You have no idea of my motives or anything about me other than that I cleaned the floor and what my first name is."

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 01:31 AM

Mona shrugged. "I'm not really suspicious of people. I can mend pretty much any damage that anyone can cause in a split second, plus I have reinforcements. So have no reason to really worry about anything." She reverted back to a more comfortable stance and leaned against the bar, taking a drag off her cigarette. "Your motives are your own and you can keep them just fine."

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 01:39 AM

The corners of his lips just hinted at a smirk. "Well if you have reinforcements, then I suppose my presence here is pointless. Why not have your lackeys clean a bit more?"

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 01:41 AM

Mona cracked a knowing smile at him while she nodded.
"Because I have more respect for my mother and older brother. They're not my lackeys, really. that would just be rude." She cocked an eyebrow at him and chuckled. "They're there for when I need to rip people, not clean the grout."

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 01:49 AM

"Ah, so I guess I'm your lackey, then." He sighed a little bit, his eyes scanning out over the empty bar.

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 01:51 AM

"I never called you that," Mona chuckled. "But if you like the title than you can keep it. I prefer more professional names like 'employee' or 'staff'. Makes you sound like you're not being ground into the floor by the heel of my boot." She stamped her foot a couple times to prove her point, the many piercings on her head glittering softly when she turned to face him.

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 01:53 AM

"I assure you, I've felt worse things grind me into the ground than your boot." He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a pack of mint flavored cigarettes, removing one from the pack and rolling it between his thumb and index finger thoughtfully.

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 01:55 AM

"Well, so have I," Mona stated proudly. She laughed a bit. She then snuffed out her cigarette in a glass ashtray. Her hand grabbed at the moon lighter around her neck and she flicked it open, holding the flame out for him.

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 01:59 AM

"Ah, I can light it myself," he replied, blowing gently on the end of the cigarette and lighting it. He inserted the filter into his mouth and took a deep pull from it; one that should've burned off more of the cigarette than it did.

"So what urge gave birth to this place?" he asked curiously, eyes scanning around again.

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 02:01 AM

Mona awed for a brief moment, the curiosity glowing in her scarlet eyes.
"That's pretty nifty," she commented, snapping the lighter shut again and letting it hang around her neck.

"This is my reason to leave home," Mona said. "After spend all of my life in one place I decided I wanted to leave and assert my independence like a normal person would."

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 02:07 AM

"Mm." He exhaled his smoke slowly, clearly enjoying his cigarette. "That's understandable. You must be young, then."

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 02:11 AM

"Rather," Mona admitted, rolling her eyes playfully. "I turned twenty last October." She grinned. "My lover is a little over five-thousand years old. How's that for pedophilia?" She laughed.

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 02:18 AM

"Five thousand years old? That's not all that old, you know," he said with a soft, knowing smile.

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 02:21 AM

"For a baby like me, it is," Mona giggled, a bit uncharacteristic of her as her face flushed gentle and pinkish smoke expelled into the air smelling like sugar cookies. She smiled up at Zaitsu and fumbled with the red stud under her lip. "Ever kissed someone with piercings in their mouth?" she asked him, purely out of curiosity.

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 02:23 AM

"I've only ever kissed one person, and no; they didn't have piercings," he replied quietly, a sad tone to his voice.

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 02:25 AM

"Mmh, well, my point is that you shouldn't do it if you prefer those lips to be soft. Though there is a bit of like cyberpunk seduction to the whole thing. But that's a biased opinion." She stuck out her tongue where three silver studs were pierced in a triangular fashion in the muscle.

"Hell I don't think I've ever kissed without the metal in me...."

Insane Cricket 03-21-2009 02:28 AM

"It's just my own personal opinion, but I feel that the mouth should be free from foreign objects. If it isn't natural to the body, it shouldn't be piercing the lips, cheeks, palate, or tongue."

Kannanomaly 03-21-2009 02:29 AM

Mona nodded.
"Well, yeah, that makes sense," she said, exhaling white smoke into the air. "I mean, what's the point of putting holes in yourself when they weren't meant to be there in the first place? No one's born with them."
