Frustrating?
So sometimes I just get really confused about why other people think the way they do and treat other people the way they do. It's frustrating and confusing and really a blow to me personally.
Racism? I always innocently believed that in this day and age, no one could possibly be racist anymore. But of course, I was deeply mistaken. And it hurts especially when people are racist towards me because all I can think of is," But that's totally unfair? I mean what did I do to deserve this? It's not my fault, I didn't choose to be this ethnicity or race, or whatever." It's not fair for people to hate/judge/etc me for something that is a part of me, and is that something that is completely out of my control. So what am I supposed to say or feel when other people treat me this way? |
theres not much one can do about it. i mean, all i can say is that you try to find the people in life who don't have such close minds, and think outside of the box. you know, people more on your level of thought. the world isn't all sunshine and roses, and it only gets worser as time goes by. but its the friends that we find in life that really show just how beautiful the world can be. as for the other folks, all we can do is pray for them.

what you have to understand is the world is not a nice place anymore, 60% of the population are racist and enjoy hurting people's feelings, you can't escape this even tho its clear you want to, the best thing is to just ignore it because you need to remember that these people are idiots and are not worth your time

Don't say anything. Just get as far away from that negative garbage as you can, and move on towards a positive goal.
There will always be closed minds out there towards everything. You'll do better off to not let the burden of their stupidity hang on you as well as on them. |
Most people think the way they do because they are just plain naive. I've moved over 11 times in my short 17 year old life and people from different places always have a certain stereotype about different people in different areas and of different skin colors. It's because they don't see or want to see what other people truly are like, they'd rather assume. They'd rather live their crappy lives living in the same place where others share their same views for the rest of their lives and live by what the media feeds because they feel that if they can bring down other people of certain races, they themselves will slowly rise. They don't know any better because they are so close-minded that they don't realize what they do and how they effect other people most of the time.
Just ignore the racist people. They aren't worth your time. They're are better people in this world to be concerned about, like people who make you smile :D . |
Racism is really an awful topic, but you should just ignore those racist people. The more you waste your time getting mad at them, the more they probably feel better about themself because their making someone upset. Which is the reason for their racism. Don't let them get to you because it's not good for you, and it IS good for them. As much as you hate them, you're giving them a lot of credit by just talking about them in general. Bad publicity is still publicity. Just focus on the good people in life. And give them the credit, they deserve it the most C:

I think that most people may think of you in a certain way when they first see or meet you just by the color of your skin or the way you sound or dress and a number of other things but, if you show them that their assumption isn't true, their opinion will probably change. Of course, there are some people who just refuse to get past the exterior because of the way they were raised or maybe because of the way they were treated by others or the things they have seen out of certain people. I guess we just need to overlook those people and put them out of our minds because, when it comes down to it, their opinion doesn't mean a thing.

Thank you so much for the feedback everyone :3
But ... it's hard for me to ignore it, because at my school, they come up to me and just start picking on me, and leave. I don't know. It's not that simple. It's hard I guess. |
I think a lot of people need to have a reason to feel superior and race is the easiest thing their small minds choose to do so. Most of the people who I have met that are racist are uneducated hicks or people that find every reason to fear the unknown. I feel like racism should be viewed as a mental illness, in other words, you hate those people because they have more melanin in their skin that you, wow, you are sick in the head. I also think it's ridiculous that we go to war and justify killing people because they are born on the other side of an invisible line.
