I love it, but the second season is not as good! At the same time, it's kind of a love-hate thing. I love it for some reasons but hate it for other reasons.
Funny fact: in the movie "How To Date An Otaku Girl", the girl refers to her boyfriends as "Sebby", in reference to Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji, when she's asking him help with a task! I giggled, that movie is simply amazing and the reference made me very very happy! |
lmao! I think I read a bit of the first book, I think I remember the Sebby part. :XD Though I thought the title was more along the lines of 'Dating a Yaoi Fangirl' and not 'An Otaku Girl'...:O; |
Kuroshitsuji = <3
I loved the first season and I kind of loved the second one. The manga, I still need to pick up where I left off in it. I think it was somewhere during the "murders happening in the mansion" saga. I think the last scene I remember reading was where "Sebastian was murdered". |
Ohh, yeah, that part. I'll not spoil anything then~ :XD |
Peeking into this thread with a wave :D
I find it highly amusing that my anti-yaoi friend was the one who got me into Kuroshitsuji XD He's always texting me telling me when the next chapter is up. Although lately I've been one-up on him because both the second volume of the DVD came out AND volume 7 of the manga without him realising. Go me. I can't wait for the new chapter though. The Undertaker, oh my god *o* I love this guy. |
Yay, another enjoyer of Kuroshitsuji! :boogie: |
Oh my god yes his scythe is amazing! Me and my friend keep talking about possibly trying to make it out of like a replica skeleton if we can find one. But the problem is I doubt it'd fit with any cosplay regulations in the conventions we'd go to. So it'd be photoshoot/awesomeness only.
Either say, I think the Undertaker is gonna be my next cosplay XD We loved him before he got even more badass than he is now. This is just a really awesome turn of events. I also love Grelle though! I have a Grelle plushie in my collection. I love that OVA with him and William in it, if only because of the hilarity of their relationship XD It says something about a series when it seems primarily 'yaoi' or boylove, and yet my friend can ignore it completely and just like how two characters interact on a more 'friendly' level. Although he hates Ciel XD |
They have cosplay regulations that bans scythes there? :gonk: |
Kuroshitsuji! <3
This is one of my all time favorite animes. I'm actually in the process of rewatching it, and rewatching shows is not something I ever really do. I guess it's just that good. :P Besides, watching something over again lets you see things you may have missed the first time around. I've only watched the anime, but now I'm curious enough to read the manga. If there's more to it, then count me in! My favorite character has to be Alois Trancy, even though I promised myself I would hate him. He's just so... insane and flamboyant, it's impossible for me not to love him even if he's honestly an awful person. Afterall, he's mostly just misunderstood. My favorite thing about the show is probably the fanservice though. Anyone can deny that the show is full of wonderful homosexualness, but it most definitely is. Bundles and bundles of it, and I have a weak spot for that sort of thing. I'm not an insane fan girl, I swear. I have a few posters, which is also a shocker because I don't buy posters, but I just had to have them when I saw them in one of my local anime stores. <3 I adore the ones where Ciel looks irritated. I also saw some gorgeous Kuroshitsuji dolls at this new anime store.. I think it's called Star Gifts Anime Corner.. or something like that. Expensive, but gorgeous. I think there's only a Sebastian and Ciel, but I want them so badly. If only there were an Alois. Last night, while trick or treating, my friends and I went to a house where a lady served us on a silver platter. I think that would be the best thing ever, to dress up as Sebastian and serve people on a silver platter for halloween. One of my friends argued that a lot of people wouldn't get the joke, but I think it'd be worth it for the few who would. And for my own amusement. |
Well, the mangaka did start out as a yaoi artist... |
I'm one hell of a butler!
|
I LOVED the manga AND anime, I'm sad the anime just finished thoughh such a cliffhanger, ONCE AGAIN.
There should've been more I mean with Ciel turning into a demon... it should've carried on :o I also loved Madame Red<3 |
Hm, not much to do anymore after Ciel becomes a demon...which, I hope would NOT be the outcome of the manga. >_>; |
Idk. The manga is kind of diversing into something completely different to the anime except for the circus theme and some other events that were similar..
if there was a a third season of Kuroshitsuji then.. it'd be cool if we could finally see Sebastian's true form. And Ciel's >.> and Grell should come back and they should all have like, a big party in the demon realm with Undertaker too xDD Yeah, very ambitious lol. I need to catch up with the manga, I have been too busy with exams and whatnot ;__; |
This series. So many memories. \o\ /o/
I think the last time I ever touched on the series was when Lizzy went... badass. And so many Lizzy fans rejoiced on the online communities... Then I got busy. ._.; I think it's a given the anime and manga would be very different. First season alone told you that past the Jack the Ripper arc... I still have a love/hate thing for the difference between the two media but then I'm mostly with a manga reader. Anime has to consider a far more diverse audience and should try to cater to that varied taste. With manga, you have a more specific audience. But like what a friend and I discussed about... The circus arc of the manga would not... be something that would be aired without a big media fist fight. It's just too... I think you know what I mean. =u=/ One thing I have to applaud about the anime is the wonderful casting of the characters. I couldn't imagine anybody else playing Sebastian, Ciel, etc. Plus how they keep the atmosphere very light hearted considering the situation at hand. That's something I think the manga lacks but is implied. It's nice to actually see it happen however. I always did imagine the mansion to be lively and with dull days much. And the musicals. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. /So much fun. I miss this fandom. D': Nevermind it's considered overcosplayed. IT'S GOT SUCH BEAUTIFUL DESIGNS SO IT DESERVES TO BE COSPLAYED OFTEN. ; n ; |
lmao, Yeah, I've been seeing Sebastians and Ciels and Grells everywhere at conventions. XD Lately they've been overshadowed by Hetalia though. |
No clue on the state of affairs of Kuro cosplay where I'm at though.
I haven't been to a convention in a very long while. I'm pretty sure however... None of them wear bustles or the somewhat period appropriate undies to hold up the shape of their costumes. Even up to now, I'm sure none of them would still bother about that sort of thing. T^T Hetalia... Hetalia... That's another fandom and series I haven't touched in a very, very long while. I feel like a relic all the more. OTL |
Bustles? o .o? |
It's the staple of the Victorian era styled dresses.
Ever notice they have a very peculiar bell shaped skirt of that time that somehow manages to defy gravity? That's because they wear caged petticoats/underskirts to retain such a shape, coupled with a form fitting corset = voila, Victorian hour glass figure. Basically it's to emphasize the hips and cover up a lady yet give them a really nice figure. At least for that time though. ;o Then it fell out of fashion because people started to find the entire 'too many undies to shape the body' very cumbersome. http://www.koshka-the-cat.com/queen/1873/queen1.jpg Manga! Mdm. Red's day gown -not the Jack the Ripper one- had such a shape. :D http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1254231434 From the front it looks 'normal' but from the side and back, the back side jutts out in a bell shape thanks to the underskirt. ^^; -points at the sketch of the ribbon part- The ribbon isn't resting flat on the butt... It's resting on something else/floating if you notice. :o PS: :O First time I saw that traveling dress... Normally double breasted jackets are reserved for horse riding for women. Shocking. I didn't know it was for travel too. You certainly learn something new everyday. --- Hetalia's fun if you get the jokes. While I do admit it's kind of shallow -it's treatment of some events-, it is a comedy themed show so I can't expect them to truly go to the nitty gritty of some world events. Same goes to the more controversial stuff. It's more of a poke of stereotypes, connotations and most historical flows though. Of course if you know better, you'd know stuff are all wrong but at least for the casual watcher, it can spark an interest in history. I've read many who at first gave no hoot about history, actually go out of their way to read up on it because of Hetalia. So at least... there's some good in that. |
Ah~Kuroshitsuji.
I really need to start reading it again~ |
@White: Oh, THAT. xD I imagine they'd be hard to get or make for cosplays, which is why most people forgo them. ^^; |
The new chapter of Kuro.
I love Undertaker so much more now. I'm curious as to what the chain's importance is. Also. GRELL. <3 |
Totally. |
Maybe. That's a good idea, haven't thought about that.
o: I loved it when Ronald was just tossed right in front of Grell. But my friend, a Mey-Rin cosplayer, LOVES Ronald, and when I showed her a beat up Ronald, she was all sad. I'm so excited for the next chapter. owo |
I hope we'll be clued in on the significance of the chain next chapter! :eager: |
