Ariala laughed along with Cindalina. "I think I'm happy with the Winter Elf I have now." She said, giving Dimitrius a loving smile.
Now it was Dimitrius' turn to blush as Ariala spoke. Grinning, he kissed her hand once more before setting it back on the table and finishing his soup.
Cindalina smiled, "Mmm, if you're sure; I suppose we'll have to keep him around then, for I very much hope to see you again soon in the future. You're always welcome to stop by anytime you feel like chatting." Dimitrius chuckled, "Glad I can be of use to bring you visitors Auntie." "Of course! What else are you good for, Trius?" she teased, "You haven't done a bit of work in your entire life." Grinning, Dimitrius answered in a smart-allec tone, "Of course not, Auntie Lina! I the child who's simply here to look handsome and make the snow fall." |
Ariala smiled coyly, "Oh don't be silly, you're also very helpful in helping lost Elimlee Elves find their way home." She said.
"Though I could've found my way back on my own, I was stalling a bit so that I would have a chance to stay with you longer." She said, a small blush reached her cheeks at her confession. |
Dimitrius blushed, "See? I'm only good at pointing out the obvious!"
Cindalina chuckled, "Aye, but she did just admit she simply wanted to stay with you longer, so surely that must make up for something." Dimitrius smiled, "True, that does make it seem less hurtful; though I still can't believe you tricked me, you little minx. Besides, how did you know I wasn't some horrid Winter Elf set out to destroy the other seasons?" |
"You?" Ariala said with a laugh. "You wouldn't have hurt me. I would've known if you had taken me off the path. I have an excellent since of direction." She said with a wink. She shrugged her shoulders innocently then added, "I was simply curious about Winter Elves and what better way to learn about them then to trick one into talking with me?" She teased.
Dimitrius chuckled as he teased, "As if you could have stopped me if I tried with the way you were shivering. And as they say in the human world, 'Curiosity killed the cat, you know'."
Cindalina chuckled, "Speaking of sense of direction, I assume Dimitrius has improved?" Dimitrius shot his Aunt a 'don't say another word' look as he took a sip of water from his goblet. |
"What?" Ariala asked, confused, looking at Dimitrius' strange look then back to his aunt.
Cindalina chuckled, "Our little Trius here, couldn't have told you which was was east, even if the sun was rising at the time you asked! But seeing as how he escorted you back to Elimlee, his professors must have finally drilled directions into him!"
"Oh." Ariala said. "I guess its not as bad as me, I couldn't cook for the longest time. But my mother wouldn't hear of it and insisted I learn." She said, placing her spoon in her empty bowl. "I've managed basic cooking but I'm sure I'd never be as good of a cook as you Cindalina."
Dimitrius chuckled as he murmured to Ariala, "Now you've done it."
Cindalina waved her hand at Dimitrius and smiled at Ariala, "Don't listen to him, child. I'll tell you what, when you visit, we'll make it a plan to cook something. You can even help with dinner or help with the baking! And Dimitrius here shall be our test subject and must try everything we make, sound good?" |
Ariala laughed. "I guess we could use him as a test subject, though you never know what kind of food I'll turn out. I'm telling you, I'm not at all good. I can grow countless foods but I can't cook them to save my life."
Cindalina smiled, "We'll change that, I promise. And in return for the lessons, all you have to do is visit me and promise you'll help me grow some fresh produce in the house. Sound fair?"
Dimitrius chuckled as he teased with a grin in Ariala's direction, "Do I really have to eat Ariala's cooking? I'm sure I'll just take her word for it and save my stomach the aches and pains." Cindalina gently smacked the back of Dimitrius' head, "Dimitrius Cardei, behave yourself before I put you to work! I don't know what you see in him, child. You sure you wouldn't like me to fix you up with a more courteous and loving Winter Elf?" she added with a chuckle as she smiled at Ariala, "I know of a few boys who'd be more than happy to meet you." |
"Oh no." Ariala said, smiling at Dimitrius. "I'd much rather have him. And I'd be happy to visit you again. But I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave soon." Ariala said, noticing the clock. "My parents will be wanting me home."
Dimitrius grinned at his Aunt as he stood up and brought his dishes and his Aunt's dishes to the sink, placing a kiss on his Aunt's cheek as he passed her, "See Auntie? Now you've gone and scared her off. Bring be your dishes and the empty dishes on the table, will ye love?"
Cindalina shook her head, "Don't be silly. I'll get the dishes Dimitrius! You and Ariala don't need to trouble yourself with them. Besides, she needs to get home. You'd best bring her back to Elimlee before she gets into trouble for being out so late." |
"No its fine. You cooked a delicious meal, the least I can do is take care of the dishes." Ariala said, bringing her dirty dishes as well as the other empty dishes to the sink.
Dimitrius smiled at Ariala as he began filling the sing with soapy water, "I'll wash, you dry and put away?"
Cindalina simply sighed as she stood up, "Alright alright, you two win. I'll go work on your outfits since I've been relieved of dishes tonight," she added with a smiles she headed back into the living room, taking an outfit to alter with her, and sitting down in a chair beside the fireplace. |
"Sounds fair." Ariala said, picking up a dish towel.
As he handed her a rinsed off plate, he brushed his soapy finger teasingly against Ariala's nose, leaving a small clump of bubbles in it's path, "I'm making a request. For your first lesson, I wish to have Apple Upside-down Cake."
Ariala brushed the bubbles off her nose with a smile before drying the dish. "The apples will be perfect." She said, "The cake part you should be worried about." Then she went off to place the dish in the cupboard.
Dimitrius grinned as he handed her another dish and kissed her forehead, "I'm not worried, I know it'll be wonderful and I'll love it now matter how much you try and tell me otherwise."
"Well then it will be at your own risk." Ariala said, drying the dish and placing the dish in the cupboard.
Dimitrius chuckled, "Have more faith and confidence in your abilities, love. Your about as pessimistic as you are when speaking of your Masters and their plans for your future. I'm sure once you've worked with my Aunt a bit, you'll see how great you truly are," he added with a smile as he handed her another dish.
"Its not that I don't believe I can do well. I have confidence in the things I can do and I know what I can't. And my magic isn't a matter of whether or not I'll be able to use it, its how my friends will react to me being more powerful." Ariala said.
"Then in that case, you need to talk to them and make it clear that although you may have strong magic, it doesn't mean your any less their friend; and in turn, they need to learn to get over the fact that you're strong and need to become supportive," handing her the last dish, Dimitrius sighed as he tried his best not to hate her friends before he got the chance to meet them, "Come, we'd better get you home. You have another big day with your Masters tomorrow, right?"
"Right." Ariala said, putting the dish away in cupboard then walking into the living room. "Thank you for everything Cindalina but I must be going now." She said to the elder elf.
