Ariala smiled as she lightly ran her fingers through Dimeria's hair before settling into a chair with the child still in her arms. "Dimitrius made some stew." She offered as she took a small spoonful of the stew and held it up for Dimeria, coaxing her gently.
Ariala was continually amazed by Dimeria's beauty, how delicate and foreign the little girl looked as she secretly hoped that her daughter would be just as lovely. Of course with Dimitrius's looks how could Lily not be?... Ariala decided with a smile. ~~~ Marreck nodded as he entered the small home and gazed around. The house had the same basic layout as Emelaide's parents' home though the fireplace and other such details were much finer. Looking into the master bedroom, Marreck could picture two small bassonetts in the corner until their twins were ready to move to Elimlee, if they decided to move back. The sum of money that Marreck's parents had left him before being adopted had dwindled only slightly when he'd bought the Elimlee house. He figured they must have been very rich to have left him such a large gift and a part of him wondered why then they hadn't been able to keep him however such matters weren't to be wondered of now. His foster parents were as real of parents as he could ever ask for and the house he was standing in would be perfect for him and Emelaide's growing family. |
Dimeria whined as she buried her face into Ariala's neck, "I'm not hungry.. I'm sleepy... My head and tummy hurt.."
- "Found it!" the old man called to Marreck with an impatient grunt, holding out the paper for him to take, "You approve of the Winterglade decor Mr. Sun and Green? All I need is your signature, I've already signed everything I need to. Once you sign it, I'll finish moving my stuff out and it'll be free for you to have tomorrow afternoon." |
Ariala frowned as she put the sppon back into the bowl of stew and pressed her hand to Dimeria's forehead, unpleased to find that it was hotter then normal. "Well you need to eat something, Dimeria." She said softly, standing from the table and balancing Dimeria on one hip as she filled a glass of water with her free hand. "Can you drink a little bit?" Ariala coaxed as she lifted the glass near Dimeria's lips.
~~~ "Thank you." Marreck smiled happily as he quickly signed the paper that the elf had given him. "And the money?" He asked casually. "I can give you some now and pay the rest later." Marreck offered as he reached into the pockets of his trousers, retrieving a few gold pieces. |
Nodding slightly, Dimeria turned to the cup and took a small sip before burying her face back into Ariala's neck.
- "Aye, aye, that'll do just find O'Sullivan," the old man grunted with a smile, "You just take care of that wife of yours and your younguns; pay me when you have the money to spare. I trust our Emelaide, never was one to remain in someone's debt for long if she could help it." Handing over the keys to the house, the man smiled, "Go on now, tell Em she's got her house. And tell her hello for me too. She must come and visit me in the new house once the younguns are old enough to travel. Be sure to tell her, alright? Bring her over whenever you like. I'll have my stuff moved out by tomorrow afternoon, on my honor." |
"You're going to need to drink more." Ariala giggled as she held up the glass again. "Please, Dimeria. You'll feel better sooner if you're drinking enough." She urged.
~~~ "Thank you very much." Marreck grinned as he gripped the keys in his hand. "I'm sure Emelaide will be able to thank you when she's well again." Marreck smiled as he headed towards the door, giving one last wave to the elder elf. "Thank you again." He urged before disappearing out the door and walking back through the snow to Cindalina's house, a new spring in his step from the house he'd share with his fiance. |
The sheets changed, Dimitrius went and drew Dimeria a lukewarm bath before heading back to the kitchen. "How is she?" Dimitrius inquired softly as he caressed Dimeria's head, "Will she drink?"
- "Seems like a nice kid, Em did well," the old man said to himself before sending a couple messenger squirrels out to his local relatives to help him move to his new home. - Emelaide yawned as she snuggled deeper into the blankets after calling softly, "Hathom? Can you get me some juice? That kind that Marreck makes?" Opening the door a crack, Hathom called, "What does he put in it love?" "I dunno... Elimlee berries?" "Very helpful, Em.. I'll see what I can do alright? Can't say it'll be perfect though," Hathom warned. Emelaide's only response was a muffled 'Mmhmm'. Chuckling softly, Hathom got up from his chair, left he door open a little, and went into the kitchen to see what he could come up with. Cindalina had stepped out for awhile, so he had to make the concoction himself; or at least try to. Hathom only hoped that Marreck would return soon and be able to make it himself for her. |
"Not much." Ariala frowned as she set the nearly full glass on the counter. "Maybe she'll feel better after a bath?" She asked Dimitrius, shifting to hand Dimeria over to him.
~~~ Marreck was still smiling when he walked through Cindalina's door and hung his coat and scarf on the coat rack. "Hello, Hathom. Is Emelaide up?" He asked curiously, running ahand through his hair. |
Frowning, Hathom handed him a strange looking glass full of liquid and berries, "Yeah, partially.. She's wanting that juice you make her.. This was my best shot, she wasn't very specific," Hathom added with a chuckle, "Find a cottage?"
- Dimitrius frowned as he took Dimeria and the glass of water, "Come on love, let's get you into the tub. You need to drink," Dimitrius whispered softly to Dimeria as he carried her to the bathroom. Setting the cup on the sink so he could undress Dimeria and place her in the tub, Dimitrius sighed. "Ari," Dimitrius called as he leaned Dimeria back in the partially filled tub before going to the door, "Ari, I think you need to get Hathom.... from Cindalina's house.. She's too hot," Dimitrius whispered as he looked over at Dimeria. |
Ariala managed a quick nod before she fled from the house, hurrying down the ladder and rushing to Cindalina as fast as her flat covered feet would take her.
~~~ Marreck laughed as he took the glass and set it down on the counter. "I can make it." He offered as he began to mix the correct berries with the ice. "I found a house from a nice old man not far from here. I just wonder when Em will be alright to move there." He explained. |
Dimitrius sighed as he turned back to Dimeria and began lightly running the water over her burning skin with a soft cloth, "Ria.... You need to drink," Dimitrius coaxed as he opened her mouth slightly and tipped the glass a tad, slowly trickling water into her mouth, "I know it's hard, but you need to swallow."
- "She really shouldn't be walking right now Marreck.. Is it very far? Is it somewhere we could carry her?" Hathom inquired as he dumped his juice and washed the glass. |
"Its rather close-" Marreck said, his sentence cut off as Ariala came as a blur through the door, stumbling a bit on her stop at the table.
"Hathom." She gasped, her breath coming in gasps from her long run and sudden stop. "Dimeria's running a fever. Dimitrius asked me to get you." She said hurriedly before stumbling a bit, Marreck catching her before she fell completely. "You alright?" Marreck asked softly. "Just a little head rush." Ariala laughed lightheadedly before holding herself up against the fridge. "I think I could've beat Erre with how fast I was running." She teased. |
"What is it... the time for Temperature Elfs to get sick? Let's get you a drink then we'll go," Hathom said as he poured Ariala a glass of cool water and handed it to her, "How bad is she?"

"I'm not thirsty." Ariala smiled with a small smile. "But thank you." She said, setting the glass on the table. "She's not as bad as Emelaide but Dimitrius is putting her in a warm bath right now." She explained.
Marreck gave Ariala's shoulder a gentle pat in encouragement as he took the juice and snuck into the bedroom where Emelaide was lying. "Em? Are you awake, love?" Marreck asked as he knelt in front of the bed, holding up the juice glass. |
Hathom nodded with a sigh, speaking softly as he motioned for her to lead the way, "Come, let's hurry before she does get as bad as Emelaide.."
- "Mmm, yes, partially," Emelaide said with a small smile as she opened her eyes, "Back already? With good news, I hope," Emelaide said with a warm smile as she sat up and leaned back against the headboard of the bed. Eying the juice, Emelaide smiled happily as she leaned over and placed a long, tender kiss upon Marreck's lips before taking the glass from his hands. "Thank you Mar," Emelaide said between kisses before taking a sip of the juice Marreck had brought her. |
Ariala simply nodded before tucking closer in her coat and leading Hathom outside towards Elimlee.
~~~ "I do bring good news. Though there is some bad news." Marreck frowned. "I found us a house not far from here and we will be able to move in tomorrow." Marreck informed her before his smile dropped, relaying to Emelaide the news that Ariala had brought about Dimeria being sick. "Hathom left with her so perhaps everything will go smoothly." He urged. |
Handing the half drunk glass to Marreck, Emelaide began shifting the blankets off of her and moving towards the edge of the bed, "She must be frightened.. Her magic must be changing.. I have to go and check on her.. I couldn't bare it if something happened to her. Hathom's magic is drained enough having to keep me in check. What if he.." Emelaide couldn't finish the thought as she tried to her get legs to work properly and swing around to the edge of the bed, and not having much luck despite her best efforts.
Pushing the thought from her head, she continued, "No, I must go and check on her. Make sure she's alright." |
"Em you will do no such thing." Marreck chided as he tucked his fiancee back into the blankets, givin ghe rforehead a swift kiss. "You're not fit to travel and Dimeria would be worried if you went to her so ill. You will only tire yourself and make everyone worry. Hathom, Ariala, and Dimitrius will take care of her." Marreck assured her gently.

"But.. But what if.. What if Hathom can't.. What if he can't help her because of me?" Emelaide whispered as she looked over at Marreck and took the glass back from him. Looking down into the glass as she swirled it around gently, "It would be all my fault... I could never forgive myself..."

"Then Dimitrius will help him." Marreck sighed. "Please just rest Em." He urged with no intention of letting her leave.

Emelaide sighed as she took a sip of the drink. "Very well, as you wish. I will remain here, imprisoned and confined with no freedom to do anything I wish, for you," Emelaide whispered before finishing the juice.
"Mar? Are you sure about all of this? It seems all I bring is misfortune.. If Dimeria. If Hathom.. It will be all my fault for not being able to control my own magic.. What if I.. What if.. I could.. I could harm you or the twins," Emelaide whispered softly, "Especially if I were ever to become pregnant again... Marreck.. I.. I'm scared.. So very scared," Emelaide whispered as she set the glass on the stand and wrapped her arms around Marreck's torso, burying her face within his chest as she held him close. |
"You're not going to harm me, Em." Marreck soothed as he ran his fingers through her hair. "All of this worrying is only hurting you. Please, love. If you don't rest things will only become worse." He urged quietly, giving her hair tender kisses as he did so.
~~~ Ariala didn't stop running to catch her breath until she had already entered her home, not bothering to check if Hathom was following her on their trip. Leaning up against the counter, Ariala held the small elf in her stomach who was kicking in a mix of protest from the excersise and worry that mirrored Ariala's. |
Emelaide nodded softly before looking up at him with a forced smile, "Yes, you're right. I will try my best to rest and remain calm, for all of our sakes," Emelaide whispered as she caressed her stomach and placed a tender kiss upon his lips. "I love you Mar," Emelaide whispered as she slid back in the bed and gently pulled him onto the bed with her.
Slipping a knee on each side of his hip, Emelaide smiled as she caressed his cheek while the other hand rested upon his chest. "I promise, I will not do anything but kiss you," Emelaide whispered softly as her lips tenderly caressed the skin just below his jaw upon his neck. "I love you," Emelaide murmured softly as she left tender kisses upon his neck. - Dimitrius sighed as he caressed Dimeria's cheek and wrapped her in a towel. He had managed to get her to drink most of the glass of water, but no luck with anything else. Drying her off, Dimitrius finished changing her just as he heard the door open and shut. "Hathom? We're in the nursery! Hurry.. She's not getting any better.." Dimitrius called as he caressed her cheek and laid her upon the bed. Hathom quickly ran to Dimitrius's voice and knelt down beside the bed. Quickly drying her off completely, Hathom set about balancing the magic and getting her into a stable condition. As her magic balanced back to a normal level, Dimeria fell into a pleasant slumber. "Will she be alright?" "Yes, she'll be fine. Her magic is stable now, it was just a small growth. When she wakes up, be sure she eats a big breakfast and gets a lot of fluid into her. She'll need to get her energy and fluids back up," Hathom instructed with a smile before giving Dimitrius a small reassuring squeeze upon his shoulder, "Don't worry, she'll never get into the condition Emelaide has gotten into. Because her magic is split between temperature and precipitation, she will have equal parts of both and that will help keep her stabilized for the most part. She will probably go through this at least once a year, possibly two. Just keep a close eye on her and she'll be fine." With that, he smiled with a nod goodbye before heading out of the house and back to Winterglade. With Dimeria fast asleep, Dimitrius headed back out and found Ariala near the counter. Wrapping his arms around her waist, caressing her abdomen, Dimitrius smiled as he placed tender kisses upon her neck and repeated what Hathom had told him. "Everything will be fine," Dimitrius murmured softly against her neck between kisses, "Dimeria is sleeping now, she'll sleep the rest of the night through. What say you we head to bed as well? And tomorrow, we are taking the day off and relaxing in the meadow. Dimeria can play by the falls while you and I will paint and laze about. How does that sound?" |
"I love you too, Em." Marreck murmured against her lips as he pulled her against him in a loving embrace, tangling one hand in her hair to bring her lips closer against his. "And I love our twins. So take care of them, love." He smiled happily against her lips, one of his hands lingering over her stomach where their children lie.
~~~ "That sounds perfect." Ariala smiled as Lily, calmed by Dimitrius's voice, relaxed inside her. "Thank you." She smiled with a kiss on his lips. "She's much better now." She said, leaning into Dimitrius and hanging her arms loosely around his neck. |
As one hand caressed his neck and the other buried in his soft brown hair, Emelaide whispered softly against his lips, "I promise, forever and for always. With you by my side for eternity, how can I ever go wrong? And surely with you to keep us in line, they will learn to behave properly," Emelaide teased with a laugh before resuming kissing her fiancee.
- Dimitrius smiled placed a tender kiss upon Ariala's neck and hugged her tenderly before kneeling before her and kissing her abdomen. "You poor Auntie gave you quite the fright, didn't she. And your poor mother did too much exercise, hmm. Now, you be good for your Mum and don't give her too much heartache for it. We shall make it up to you when we see you," Dimitrius whispered softly to Lily with another kiss upon Ariala's abdomen as he lifted her dress gently and caressed her abdomen, "Everything is fine, so don't you worry. And your mother, if she doesn't wish to give me a heart attack, will never run so much while carrying you again," Dimitrius said with another kiss upon her abdomen before letting the dress fall and pulling Ariala close, burying his face in her neck, "Are you alright my love? Promise me you will not do such a thing again unless it meant saving your life or the life of our baby..." |
"Well someone has to." Marreck teased against Emelaide's lips, his hand trailing the length of her back as his tongue slipped between her lips to caress her own.
~~~ Ariala frowned at her stomach as Lily calmed and rested again. "I'm sorry. I'm not used to having limitations on much I can run." She sighed as she leaned into Dimitrius, giving him a tender kiss. "It won't happen again." She assured him with a smile before leading him into their bedroom and silently undressing. Pulling a hunter green nightgown over her head, Ariala walked over to the bed and snuggled beneath the blankets as she waited for her husband. |
