Dimitrius shook his head, "You just seemed to get very quiet and wished to leave all of a sudden is all.. I'm probably just tired and was on the verge of falling asleep and lost track of time, forgive me and my odd questions," he added with a chuckle as he placed a tender kiss upon her temple.
Ariala laughed as she wrapped her arm around Dimitrius's side. "I wanted to leave because its getting dark and I'm a klutz in the dark." Ariala laughed as they reached the metal gate. Ariala turned her back to the gate, standing on her toes to give Dimitrius a tender kiss. "I love you." She said before turning and leading their way up the stone path to the cottage.
Bringing her hand to his lips, Dimitrius smiled as he murmured softly, "I love you too."
Once they were inside, Dimitrius took her coat and called over his shoulder as he walked towards the bedroom, "What would you like to dinner, love?" |
"Not sure." Ariala said as she trailed into the kitchen and bent over the icebox. "Something simple would be fine. There's alot in here though." Ariala said as she looked over the groceries.
After putting their coats away, Dimitrius went into the kitchen and looked over the cupboards, "Hmm, how about some baked zitti and garlic bread?"
"Mm." Ariala said as her stomach growled in response. "Guess my stomach agrees as well." She laughed as she pulled out tomatoes to make the sauce and cheese to grate for on top. "Can you start the noodles?" Ariala asked as she mashed the tomatoes.
"Sure," he said with a chuckle as he took down the proper noodle box. Getting out a pot and filling it with water, he set it on the stove to boil. Getting out the cheese grater, Dimitrius walked over to Ariala and began unwrapping the cheese, "While this is cooking, I'm going to start packing. I'll pack your things as well, so you can just relax out here if you'd like. Is there any specific outfit you want left out for tomorrow?"
"No. Anything will be fine." Ariala smiled up at Dimitrius. "Thank you." She said as she mixed the tomato sauce. Adding herbs to the bowl, Ariala stirred the sauce quickly before setting it in a small pan and stirring as she waited for it to boil.
Grating the cheese over a bowl, Dimitrius began humming bits of an old Irish tune he heard while on earth called 'Galway Girl', softly singing part of the lyrics between humming in that soft Irish lilt of his.

Going to Ariala's closet, he picked out what looked like a warm outfit and jacket to match. Laying it on the bed, Dimitrius went back to the closet, took out her suitcase, and began to pack it with her things. |
Ariala drained the pasta, dumping it into the pan and pouring the sauce over top. With the sauce, Ariala mixed it through until it was spread throughout before topping it with cheese. Putting it into the oven, Ariala leaned up against the counter before placing all the dishes into the sink.
Grabbing a loaf of bread, Ariala cut it into a few slim slices, laying them out on a baking sheet. Heating butter with garlic on the stove, Ariala poured it over the bread slices before putting them into the oven as well. |
Finishing Ariala's packing, after taking out the undergarments she would need tonight as well as the following morning, along with a nightgown to wear tonight, Dimitrius brought her suitcase out to the living room and set it in the hallway that led to the door.
"Ari, I'm going to head into town to tell the driver we'll be leaving tomorrow. Will you be alright here by yourself or do you want to come with me?" Dimitrius asked as he leaned in the door frame of the kitchen. |
"I'll be fine." Ariala smiled as she filled the sink with water. "Dinner should be done soon so hurry." She said, giving Dimitrius a tender kiss before returning to the sink to wash the dishes.
Dimitrius nodded, "Of course. It's only about a mile down the road, so I should be back by the time it's finished."
With that, he slipped on his jacket and headed out into the cool air. The stars and moon shining above him, Dimitrius shoved his hands into his coat pockets and quickly headed off in the direction of the nearby town. Reaching it in about fifteen minutes, Dimitrius went off in search of the driver. Finding the Inn at which he was staying, he found the driver to be out so he left word with the desk to notify him of his message as soon as he came in. Leaving the Inn, Dimitrius quickly made his way out of town and back home to Ariala. |
Ariala finished the dishes quickly, setting them on the rack to dry. Moving to the cupboards, Ariala laid out plates and silverware for her and Dimitrius. Pulling some lemonade from the icebox, Ariala set it on the table.
With a pair of pot holders, Ariala brought out the ziti and garlic bread, the scent filling the kitchen. She set the garlic bread on a plate and brought it to the table with the ziti. After washing the baking sheet, Ariala waited patiently for Dimitrius to return. |
Opening the door, Dimitrius was greeted by he wonderful smell of Ariala's cooking. Taking his jacket off and bringing it back to the bedroom, Dimitrius called out to Ariala, "Ari, it smells delicious! It'll be perfect to warm me up. It's gotten really chilly out there, even more me," he added as he walked into the kitchen and sat down opposite Ariala. "Have you been waiting long, love?"
"No, I just got finished." Ariala said as she poured herself lemonade and placed a scoop of ziti and piece of garlic bread on her plate. "It does smell pretty good though. Maybe I'll catch up to you sooner then you think." She teased as she took a bite of her ziti.
"Perhaps Aunt Lina's skills rubbed off," Dimitrius chuckled as he scooped some ziti onto a slice of garlic bread, making a small sandwich out of it. Taking a bite, Dimitrius grinned. It tasted amazing, even the garlic bread. Swallowing, Dimitrius poured himself a glass of lemonade and winked at Ariala, "Not bad, love, not bad. We may just turn you into a good cook yet."
"Maybe." Ariala laughed before taking another bite of her ziti. "You never know, this could just be a fluke. I could go back to Elimlee and burn the kitchen to the ground." She winked as she soaked up some of the sauce with her bread and taking a bite.
Chuckling, Dimitrius shook his head, "Nah, I've got faith in ye. Besides, as long as you can make banana bread and cinnamon pancakes for Ria and I, you'll be golden for life," he added with a wink as he took a bite of his 'sandwich' before added with a chuckle after he'd swallowed, "Not to mention ziti. This is great, by the way, have I told you that yet?"
"Yes you have." Ariala blushes as she continued to eat her own ziti. "Maybe I'm just really good at some dishes and horrible at others. Like luck of the draw which dishes I'll burn and which ones I'll make flawlessly." She smiled as she finished her dinner, taking a sip of her lemonade.
Taking a sip of his lemonade, Dimitrius smiled, "Perhaps, that could be the case. Let us just hope I'm able to make all of the dishes you burn," he added with a wink, "Not to mention we'll have to make sure we get pots and pans that are resistant to flames."
Ariala smiled as she brought her plate and silverware to the sink and moved to sit on the counter. "I think we'll do just fine." Ariala smiled, hoping that everything from there on would be relatively smooth. Though he still had to meet her parents. That's going to be loads of fun... Ariala pondered sarcastically.
Finishing his meal and emptying his glass, Dimitrius brought his dishes to the sink and began washing them, "Ari.. I've been thinking.. about when we go back? We're going to have hell to pay from your parents once they find out we basically eloped the other day.. I think it'd be best if we go see them when we get home, before you go to our lessons, so that they hear the news from us, and not from another."
Glancing over at her as he rinsed off a dish, he asked softly, "What say you, love?" |
"You're right. And they're not going to be happy." Ariala said quietly. "I wish I could've told them beforehand. I wish they had been there. Its better that they weren't because they would've stopped us but I wish they could've been happy for us." She rambled softly, looking at her hands that rested in her lap.
Drying his hands, Dimitrius moved to stand in front of Ariala. Placing a tender kiss upon her forehead, her took her hand in his while his other palm gently caressed Ariala's cheek, "I know.. I wish they could have been there as well.. But just think, we're having the extravagantly official ceremony in just a couple of months. Perhaps by then they shall love our union and won't completely hate us. And perhaps by then, they will see how truly happy we are and just how much we love each other, and will in turn see how wrong they are and will accept our marriage with open arms. We just need to hope for the best," he added as he tilted her lips towards his and placed a tender kiss upon them.
