Looking over at Emelaide, Lorcale sighed, a smile decorating his lips as he looked at Marreck, "My baby girl's growing up so soon.. You have my permission, Marreck. I wish you both the best of luck and the greatest happiness. I look forward to meeting your parents. And please, tell them I insist on paying for the wedding and reception, no matter the cost. When are you to ask Emelaide? Does she suspect anything?"

Marreck couldn't keep the smile off of his face as he answered Lorcale. "I was planning on tonight but I wasn't sure if you would approve and I wanted your permission before I asked." Marreck said, his voice still low as to not alert Emelaide. "I'm not sure if she knows but I wanted to keep it a surprise." Marreck said with a smile. "I think I should help with the dishes though." Marreck said, eyeing Emelaide before turning back to Lorcale. "Thank you." Marreck said quietly, a smile never leaving his lips as he turned to walk to the sink.
"Do you need help, love?" Marreck asked as he placed a kiss on Emelaide's cheek. "What's wrong?" He asked warily when he noticed Emelaide's expression. |
The moment Marreck left Lorcale's side, Marie went to her husband's side, "Lorcale, what's going on? What were you two speaking of just now? I think it's put Em in a tizzy and made her think she's going to lose Marreck!"
"Nonsense, dearest, we're gaining a son-in-law if she accepts," he whispered back as he led her outside for a stroll around the gardens outback, "Come, I'll tell you everything." Emelaide sighed, not noticing her parents leaving, as she put on a smile and looked over at Marreck as she rinsed off a dish, "Wrong? Whatever could be wrong? My parents adored you, I'm perfectly happy! Unless there's something you're not telling me.." Wiping her hands on a towel, Emelaide put one hand on her hip as she rested most of her weight on that foot, "Marreck, come on, I know what's going on. You think I'm blind? My father told you how he really felt about you and said that he was simply acting kind to appease me, right? He told you to get lost and leave me without hurting me too much, right? And you agreed, didn't you? You two seemed so close. Just go, Marreck. I get it. You don't need to reiterate. I trusted you. Damn it Marreck, I love you! How could you.. how could you lie to me like this? Just leave okay? I don't want to see you.." Emelaide added as her voice cracked but no tears came, her magic already at work keeping her eyes dry as she finished up the dishes and wiped her hands once more before heading out of the kitchen towards her room. Once in her room, Emelaide headed to her dresser to pick out something to wear to bed. |
"Em." Marreck said quietly, pulling the ring box out of his pocket as he faced the bedroom.
"That's not what we were talking about." Marreck said quietly as he placed the ring box on the dresser on front of her. "In fact, your father is much more accepting then I assumed he would be." He said quietly. "Please. I love you to, Emelaide." He said, his voice cracking slightly at the possibility that Emelaide was going to kick him out. |
Slowly reaching out to touch the ring before her, Emelaide's pointer fingertip softly grazed it before pulling back. Looking up at Marreck, her eyes brimming with tears, she whispered softly, "Y-you mean...?"
Dropping the clothes she had in her hand, Emelaide wrapped her arms around Marreck's waist and buried her face in his chest as the tears poured from her eyes. Sniffling between her cries, Emelaide whispered softly, "I thought.. but you.. I.. I'm so sorry.. I.. I feel like such an idiot.. How can you ever forgive me for this.. I've ruined everything with my stupidity once more.. The first time it nearly got you, and me for that matter, killed.. Now it... I'm so very sorry Marreck.." |
"Em." Marreck smiled as he wrapped his arms around Emelaide, tightening his grip so that she was perfectly molded to his body. "Don't cry, love." Marreck said as he buried his face in Emelaide's hair. "As long as you say yes then you have nothing to apologize for." He said as he took the small ring box and held the ice blue diamond ring in front of Emelaide. "What do you say, love? Marry me?" He asked as he rested his forehead against Emelaide's.

A smile creeping into her lips, Emelaide wiped the tears from her cheeks as she nodded. "Of course I'll marry you.. what ever made you think I'd say otherwise?" she whispered as she softly caressed his cheek before placing a tender kiss upon his lips. Standing on her toes, Emelaide wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. Forgetting about the ring, forgetting her tears, not paying any attention to her magic going all over the place due to her euphoric mood, Emelaide simply leaned into Marreck and kissed him tenderly, their kisses deepening and quickening as her tongue slipped between his lips to brush against his own. "I love you Marreck, so very very much," she whispered against his lips before resuming kissing him once more.

Marreck shook on the spot as the ring box fell to the ground, his arms pressing Emelaide tighter against him. "I love you." Marreck said as he deepened the kiss before the cold caught up with him. "Em." He gasped in surprise as his body shook with cold. "Its a little cold." He smiled shyly as he picked up the box and handed the ring to Emelaide.

Emelaide blushed, the temperatures shifting to uncomfortably warm for both elves involved. "S-sorry.. I forgot to keep it in check," she whispered softly as she held out her hand, her left hand-ring finger slipping into the ring with ease. Caressing his cheek, Emelaide stood on her toes one more and pressed her lips against his in a tender kiss. "I love you, I love you, I love you, a thousand times I love you," she whispered between soft tender kisses as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"As I love you." Marreck smiled against her lips as he wrapped his arms around Emelaide's waist, the box falling from his grip. "So much." He whispered before deepening the kiss so that his tongue slipped between Emelaide's lips.
Overcome with happiness, Marreck lifted Emelaide in his arms by her waist and spun her around. Showering her with kisses, Marreck couldn't keep the smile off of his face. |
Emelaide couldn't help but laugh as she returned his kisses and he spun her around, her thoughts filled of their future together, the wedding, the- The wedding. Leaning back as her feet touched the ground, Emelaide looked up at Marreck, a nervous look upon her face, "Marreck, we have a problem.. I don't like ceremonies.. Dimitrius' was an exception, it was small, and I wasn't showcased. But.. Marreck... It'll be our wedding.. I-I'll be showcased in front of everyone! I'm sure to make a fool of myself.. especially if we have a large wedding like Ariala and Dimitrius are going to have in just a couple of months.. I.. I-I'm not so sure that I could go through with something so large.. I.."
Looking down at the floor, Emelaide finished in a whisper, "Are you angry that I fear large ceremonies?" |
"Of course not." Marreck smiled, lifting her chin. "If you'd rather we have a small ceremony then we'll have one. I only wish to be married to you." Marreck smiled. "We can have whatever kind of wedding you'd like."

Emelaide smiled as she caressed his cheek softly with her palm, "You really want to marry me?" Her palms sliding to caress his shoulders near the base of his neck as her face buried into his chest, Emelaide whispered, "Oh Marreck.. You cannot imagine how happy I am to hear those words.. it's truly happiness beyond description.."

"I know how you feel." Marreck smiled as he out his arms around Emelaide's waist. "I love you, Em." He smiled as he kissed her forehead gently. "So you're not going to kick me out, right?" Marreck teased.

Emelaide smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck and brushed her nose against his, her tears having dried due to her magic, as she whispered, "Never. I love you Marreck," shhe added as she stood on her toes and placed a tender kiss upon his lips.

"And I love you." Marreck whispered against her lips. "My beautiful Emelaide." He said softly between kisses. Slipping his tongue between her lips, Marreck tightened his arms around her waist.

Her hand slipping through his hair and pulling him closer, Emelaide leaned back against the dresser as she pulled him closer as their kisses quickened.
Blushing, Emelaide pulled back and rested her forehead against his as she whispered, "We'd better stop before I get carried away.." |
Marreck smiled as he kissed her forehead before leading her back into the kitchen. "Do you know when your parents will return?" He asked as he held up Emelaide's hand with the ring on it. "I'd like to tell them the good news though I'm sure they've already figured I'd asked by now." He grinned as he ran his finger over the smooth ring.

Emelaide smiled as she brought his hand to her lips and placed a tender kiss upon his fingers, "I believe they took a turn around the gardens, so they should be back in a bit. However," she added with a smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck and stood on her toes as she leaned into him, "I don't think they'll be back very soon, so until then.." Smiling, Emelaide slid her hand into Marreck's hair as she pulled him in for a tender kiss.

Marreck smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist and returned her kisses eagerly. "I love you." He whispered quietly between kisses.

"I love you too," Emelaide whispered as she leaned in closer, "I'm very glad you want to marry me and that my parents approve.. You don't know how worried I was," she admitted with a blush. "You sure you want to keep me forever?" she asked hesitantly as she looked up at him.

"Forever and ever." Marreck smiled. "I love you, Em. And I don't plan on ever losing you." He grinned as he gave her forehead a kiss.

Emelaide smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck and placed a tender kiss upon his lips, "I love you so much Marreck."
As Emelaide spoke, the door opened and her parents walked in. Lorcale chuckled as he saw his daughter and future son-in-law in the kitchen and heard his daughter's words, "I see the engagment is official." Emelaide laughed as she looked over at her father and nodded, "Thank you, Father." |
Marreck smiled widely as he put an arm around Emelaide's waist and held the other by his side. "Yes, after she tried to kick me out." Marreck teased as he hugged Emelaide with his one arm.

Looking up at Marreck with a smile, Emelaide blushed, "Is it my fault I thought you were leaving me?"
Marie smiled at Lorcale before smiling at the couple, "Congratulations, both of you. I'm very happy to see my daughter so well taken care of." "As am I. I trust you'll keep your word, Marreck," he added with a smile, "If you wish to go tell your parents, Marreck, I'll leave Emelaide in your care. Just don't keep her for too long," he teased as he led his wife to the bedroom. The couple was quite exhausted after their long journey home and trusted Marreck and Emelaide not to do anything reckless. |
